You know your body, do whats best for you. Reschedule it. I noticed that as more time goes by the more I can eat so maybe you'll be ready for a fill in another month or so. My doc won't give me a fill for at least 2 months after surgery, and I know I'm gonna need it lol.

Patty sounds like a wonderful time with your mom. I'm so happy for you. Cherish every moment you can. Do you have a big counter mixer (not the hand one). The counter top mixers are much better for thick cookie dough (like a kitchen aid). And yes, wet ingred first then add the dry slowly LOL !!! I wish you lived closer I'd make a batch of cookies for you or we could bake together, that would be fun. Well our little tree is up and my inside of the house is decorated as much as its gonna be decorated. This week the weather is supposed to warm up so I'll put up the lights outside then. Its to freakin cold today to do lights. But I did manage to get the outside thanksgiving stuff down TTYL

My bmi was 37.1. I have high BP, high cholesterol, deteorating disc disease, arthritis in the knees and spine. I just made it. Oy.

When you go for surgery, tell them you get sick, they will give you something for it. They gave me 2 shots and I had no problems, I didn't dry heave once. I can't help you with the liquid diet b/4 surgery b/c I didn't have to be on any special diet before hand. I thought all liquid diets preop were Protein drinks? no? I'm not sure. Good Luck !!!

Yep, only tylenol. Try a suppository (glycerin for adults) they really help relieve constipation and are gentle on the system. Feel better !!!!

LOL Teresa, Paula cooks awesome but you couldn't live on her food daily. Heart attack on a plate....but ya gotta love her. She is my favorite cook on the food network... move over Emeril LOL. How did you make the pineapple biscuits? Did you see the Elvis special she did where she cooked everything Elvis would like OMG!!! it looked wonderful. She went on to say that if elvis saw her in a mini skirt he would be all over her and he's never leave her LOL !! she's a pisser. My mom makes a potato sausage stuffing that is out of this world. I don't even attempt to make it b/c it never comes out the same, she's got that touch ya know what I'm talking about. I can sit and watch her over and over and even do it w/her, but the minute I make it on my own... ICK! LOL

Jeff, Renebean is going thru the same thing as you, her insurance company won't pay unless her bmi is lowered. She posted on the insurance thread about it. Before I had the surgery I thought to myself....gee I can lose weight and once I start do I really want surgery. Well I answered myself right then and there. Yes !!! I know I can lose weight, I've done it a gazillion times, I've even lost and kept off for 10 years 150 lbs..... but thats the key, keeping it off. Can I keep it off.... NO! I can't thats for sure, my closet tells a story with all the sizes in it. So my decision was to have the surgery b/c I couldn't keep the weight off. I love my band, I'm going thru life tasting it instead of inhaling it now its an awesome feeling. Good luck with your decision.

Glad your feeling better today Debra. I was the opposite LOL. Just make sure you get plenty of fluids to replace what you lost. You don't wanna get dehydrated. Hugs !!

Ditto's Ruthie, my dinner was lost some where on that big old plate but you know, it took me the same amout of time to eat my tiny dinner as it did for the other family members to eat 2 plate fulls. Amazing huh. AND nobody noticed at the table (none of them know I have the band), so it was a double feeling of YEAH !!!!

Brian, this is a personal decision for you, I don't think any of us would tell you to go one way or the other. Listen to your heart. Good Luck and I'll be praying that the decision comes easy for you. Hugs!

Good Morning How is everyone today, still stuffed? I did rather good, a heck of alot less than last year of course but I still ate to much. I had sweet & mashed taters, cauliflower, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, no turkey lol, pumpkin pie, and a bite of apple pie and cheesecake. That was at 1 pm, then around 5 I had 3 left over ravioli's and another sliver of pumpkin pie Today, back on the diet lol. How did you all do? Today we're putting up the rest of the chrismas decorations we started doing yesterday...yeah, I know I know. Any nuts going out for black friday? lol

Hi Bruce I personally wouldn't want to take the chance of stretching the pouch, try to measure your food and be very careful. If you reallllllllly need to graze (try to break this habit) then eat something you'll need to chew and chew like carrot sticks. yeah I know but its helping me when inbetween meals I'm starving. I slice them up with some fat free or low fat dip (just a tablespoon or so....measure measure measure lol). And it takes the edge off. Old habits aren't going to go away over night but we have to try to work with this band and our little pouches (notice I said try lolol ). HUGS !!!!!

I am out just a month now with the band and just yesterday I had one of the best NSV's I have felt in YEARS !!!!!! We went to a diner and I got ravioli's for dinner. The plate had about 10 fairly large ravioli's on it. I ate a few bites of my salad, 3 ravioli's and walked out of that diner carrying the rest of them to take home. Your probably saying so?????? Well it hit me that finally, FINALLY I had control and that this band is WONDERFUL!!! I walked out of that place with tears in my eyes because for the first time I felt like I can do this, with my band, I can finally do this, there is hope. I told my dh that it felt good not to have cleaned the table off and walk out feeling disgusted in myself AND gaining another 5 lbs. What an awesome feeling to be able to taste life instead of inhaling it. Don't let the bad news get you down, just think about it as more information to be aware of, IMHO its better to know than not to know. I am loving each day and I am so Thankful to GOD that He!!! gave me this chance with the band. Your gonna be just fine....ok!! Leave your worries to the Lord
