Today is exactly 7 days from surgery and I lost 15 pounds. :smile2:

I am staying on plan because I still have great restriction from surgery! Hooray :smile2: Losing 1 pound a day.

Welcome Nicole :smile2: Sounds like you're doing pretty well. Don't forget to get up and move around alot thats going to speed your recovery.

I have never been a big fan of exercise but I plan on getting into the groove of it because I refuse to fail at the band. I have been walking 1-2 miles since my surgery 5 days ago. I know it's not alot but I know I have to do something. I was hoping that there was another girl on here that was in my situation that has succeeded. I am pretty sure I am gonna need some weight training along with the cardio to tighten up some of this flab.. but I am not the type to walk into a coed gym and just pick up weights and start doing my own thing. Could someone recommend a gym preferably for girls with female trainers that wont look down on someone that hasn't been in the swing of things? I wondered about curves but I think they are more cardio.

Well I truely love to cook and would do it as a career if I didn't already have one.... I will head the advice and enjoy it while it lasts. Lulu I am always in search of new gourmet recipes that appeal to me or creating my own... it's my hobby :blushing:

I originally was self pay... I started doing all the beginning stuff when my company switched insurances out of the blue and mine was paid for! But if they wouldnt of it would of been worth every penny

Well I took your advice Wheetsin.... I stomped down to the most convenient gym location nearest me..... Threw down my 300 bucks and signed up. I was obviously the fattest person there and the guys outnumbered the girls 2-1 but oh well. I spend 1 hour with the personal train on Weds this week. My next question is I signed up for step classes has anyone ever done that? Can I hide in the back and stop when I need to lol.

I lost 13 pounds pre op then I was banded on 4/23 and have lost 9 pounds in 6 days. I was up exercising the day of my surgery though. I am bound and determined to get this weight off and the key to success I hear is capitolizing on the fast weight loss in the beginning with exercise.

I am 6 days post op... You would have to kill me to pry my band away from me lol. Check out my ticker all those pounds gone and I haven't felt hungry 1 time. I would do it again without a second thought.

Congrats! I have BCBS and they are awesome :biggrin: I am 5 days post op now mine went so fast too. You're in for a great time.

I am on day 5 post op and I can have Soups, broths, Jello, cottage cheese, milk, Protein shakes etc. However, from the second I woke up the thought of food bores me. Mentally changed me so I haven't had anything but 2o oz Protein Shakes a day and crystal light. I only drink the shakes cause I have to. I am always thirsty tho.

banded 4/23 down 21 pounds

I checked in at 5am on 4/23. They immediately gave me pain meds orally to relax me and it worked! I had a couple friends stop in that I barely remember being there. The hardest part was getting my IV in I guess it took 4 tries. They wheeled me into surgery at 7:45 am and wheeled me out at 8:30. Before they woke me up the surgeon said they gave me alot of anti nausea meds and extra pain meds.... so when I woke up I didn't feel anything didn't even realize I had surgery other than I was sleepy from the meds. I slept it off for 5 hours then got up to use the restroom. I havent looked back once. I am not in any discomfort now from the incisions but I am afraid to put jeans on and have it rub on the incisions ;( I haven't felt hungry once since surgery. I am sure that will fade but for now I will enjoy it. I have an Allergen 10CC band with 0 in it right now. I wish everyone a speedy and hungerless recovery :wink2:

I am glad to hear that you're doing better :wink2: We have the same date and same weight loss. Hang in there I am sure it gets better.

I just had surgery on 4/23 and I would do it again. I have had restriction since surgery.. while I expect it to fade until I get my first fill I am content right now.. food doesn't look as good and I am happy with just getting in some liquids. I haven't weighed yet but im sure I have lost something. Would do it again for sure.

Momma I was banded at 5 am so I was able to go home at 6 pm since I was up and about. I have 4 incisions then my port all 4 are small but the port is about 1 1/2 -2"

Its really weird to see how it affects everyone differently. Mine was smooth sailing and I still can't believe it's done! The biggest problem they had was getting my IV in.. They had to try 5 times before getting it. I made sure to let them know I get sick if I am put under so they said they gave me 3 anti nausea meds thank god. I woke right up and didnt feel a thing so I didn't think they did it till I tried to move. I haven't been taking the loritab they sent me home with... 3 bottles of it to be extact sheesh. I have taken tylenol. The only discomfort I have now is bending down, getting in and out of my bed cause its high... really its just tight on my incision area. the doc gave me stitches inside and glue on exterior. I was told I was fitted with the 10cc band. I have been walking around the house alot since I came home yesterday. I am going to get dressed and try to walk around the block tonight.

Well I am off to the hospital!
