Tired of waiting on Ins. company.
Brandy~ replied to MKayG's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello. All the insurances are different... Mine was very fast and took 1 day. I am sure someone else with Cigna might have a better idea. I have bcbs of minnesota. -
COngratulations, that was the best phone call I ever got thats for sure. I wouldn't put off your surgery I would just put your husband to work helping with the guests. Do you have friends or family that will be there that you could delegate the majority of the tasks out to ? Give each person something little to do and it will save you alot of headache. I would recommend this even if you're not having surgery haha

I may have my period at the time of surgery.
Brandy~ replied to ja4332's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on my period so I told the nurse. Right before they wheeled me into surgery they had me use the restroom to use a new tampon. Sorry for the TMI. They gave me the option of the diaper or new tampon.. I didnt want a diaper lol -
Noahsmom. I never used to exercise now I do it almost everyday... The motivation came to me the minute I started losing. Since I knew each pound that fell off wasn't coming back it made me wanna work that much harder to get it off quicker Really though it doesn't take alot to shock the body into throwing out calories if you're not an exercise person now. I would just start with walking around the block just a couple times a day. The more you move the more you will want to move once u start losing weight.

People tend to ask more questions when they are having negative feelings or make more comments when its a negative feeling.. This is probably why you feel you are encountering negativity. I can't speak for anyone but myself which is 100 % positive so I will give you my story I had surgery on 4/23. I didn't have hardly any pain at all I didn't even take the pain meds they gave me. I was back at work within just a few days. I have lost 29 pounds and just had my first fill. I hit my sweet spot on my very first fill and now I am loving life. I eat 1/2 cup of food for each meal and I am full all the time... never a hunger pain  Theres hope and many positive outcomes. I wish you a very speedy recovery!

Listing reasons for lap band surgery
Brandy~ replied to fat2long's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am the logistics coordinator for a organic grain mill... So the costs are very apparent to me. I deal with the shipping of it and also the rising cost of the grains we have to harvest. Absolutely crazy cause it's going through the roof. -
Day 5 post LapBand Surgery
Brandy~ replied to DaGramma's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi DaGramma and welcome LBT! I too had my incisions closed with glue and I can tell you that it is great. You will heal quickly and the scaring should be minimal. My son had a dog bite his face about 7 years ago and they used the glue... You can't even tell now. They only used 5 incisions for me though and 1 was my port. -

Is 23 years old to young to get lapband?
Brandy~ replied to guy221985's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would have done it at 23 if I had the oppurtunity! However, I was banded at 32 -
Claims that you "just can't lose". (post banding)
Brandy~ replied to midwestchickie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree 100% that it's frustrating to read others post that they cannot lose weight with the band. Like the previous postings... it is because they are not honest to themselves about what they are or are not doing. The band is a tool and that is it... You still must work very hard. Something as small as not getting enough water can keep you from losing. Theres rules to the band that must be followed if they want to receive the results they wanted when they got the band. -
4cc BANDERS, WHERE'S YOUR SWEET SPOT???
Brandy~ replied to TxChelsey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't had the band long enough to learn the whole sweet spot thing but I think I am at it now. I have 4cc with 2.0 in it. I can only eat the max of 1/2 a cup of food (I measure it) I can eat most any food as long as I chew it well. I do not have hunger pains so I just have to remind myself to eat -
Hello and welcome to LBT! That is great to hear that your husband is so supportive of you and your surgery.... That will make your journey that much easier. That is wonderful to hear about the 6 month old baby girl I wish you lots of luck with all that is to come.

Congrats Masmith on the 42 pound loss!

Glad to hear you're doing well and you get your fill soon... Sometimes it takes multiple fills to notice a difference and other times it only takes 1. I just had my first fill on 6/18 and haven't felt hungry 1 time yet :grouphug: So there is hope.
