Thrilled with the 6+ month wait
Brandy~ replied to sandibly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had the 6 month diet along with a center of excellence pre op dietary class similar to the program you're doing. Like most I wasn't thrilled with waiting 6 months... But I ended up being thankful for all the knowledge I got out of it and how helpful everyone was. I had surgery on 4/23 and since surgery have lost 41 pounds and I think it's because I was informed and able to use my band for the potential it has. Nice post thanks -
My doctor said he would be happy to sign me off for 6 weeks for short term disability. I cannot stand sitting at home though so I took just a few days off haha At my work though short term kicks in on the 8th working day missed. They pay 60% of your wages tax free.

Hello and Welcome to LBT. We are all very thankful for your husbands tour. I am sure he is making a difference This board has been a life saver for me as well. No matter what day or time there's always someone online here that has a few kind words to lift your spirits or answer your questions. -
It's the best thing I have ever done! I had surgery on 4/23 and have lost 41 pounds. The band isn't a miracle cure it's a tool. I have learned total portion control from having the band... If I forget and try to over it my band will remind me.

Hello and welcome to LBT Wishing you a very speedy recovery. After a few weeks you will be back on regular food and feeling back to normal.. Thats how it was for me. -
Hello and Welcome to LBT. It's really great that you have someone close to you that has had the surgery so you know what to expect. The pain for me was pretty minimal. I was up cleaning house within a couple days. I was back to work within 5 days. The only time I noticed discomfort was trying to get up from a laying down position.

I wanna scream it from the rooftops so I thought I would start here :svengo: I AM GETTING MARRIED  My boyfriend and I have been together 7 years. He was there through thick and thin. I was a single mom and he was my knight in shining armour! We just bought a beautiful house 2 years ago and this year I had my LB surgery. I have lost 38 pounds and now were getting married! I hope to hit goal or close to goal of another 69 pounds by 2/7. We are getting married on the beach in Kauai at Poipu... I already bought the plane tickets I was so excited.. 13 of our family members are going it's going to be awesome.

I just want to comment on your post.. I am white ( like that matters...) Could you please point it out where the poster u quoted said anything about race? I guess I missed the part where they said the ghetto was a specific race?

Day of Surgery Weight and how much you have actually lost?
Brandy~ replied to ocbreeze4u's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have lost 38 pounds in 3 months since my surgery. I was 267 and now I am 229. I only do moderate exercise. I have set a goal of 9 pounds to lose per month. -
Weird I couldn't figure out what happened either.. The day of my surgery my BP was 150/68. The last couple doctor trips it has went up and up... Yesterday was 189/112 ... Cause for concern. I have a recheck and then I am going to be put on meds at 32.. Lets hope it's just temporary. I weigh 220 and I am down 40 pounds.

Congratulations on your weight loss and welcome to LBT! It's always wonderful to hear others awesome stories.

Babs is right.. Call them and ask them for a list of network doctors. It's probably under bariatric or surgeons.

Wow sorry I haven't heard of this. However it really sounds like maybe the placement or maybe the tubing is hitting a nerve sending the pain to the shoulder?
