Hello and welcome to LBT. I wish you lots of luck in your banding journey  -
I am sooo happy for you congrats! Some people celebrate their band anniversary as their Bday  You don't have to choose now!
-
So you had the surgery without being informed of anything? If that's the case im totally shocked that they would put you through such a life altering event without all the knowledge you need.

The sweet spot should be when: You're losing weight steadily You feel full quickly You're only able to eat small portions Feel Full longer Rarely feel hunger pang if at all I am at my sweet spot

Thats how I felt during my 6 months... Once I had a couple under my belt I couldn't believe how fast it was all going. Pretty soon you will have your date! Good luck

I don't ever feel my band. My doctor did show me how where to touch if I wanted to feel the tube.. I wasn't interested haha.

Congrats on your NSV... But you just made me remember I still need to do my carpets

They were definetly not within policy to act in this manner. I would first start with a formal letter (registered mail with sig) requesting reasons for their actions. Once I had that I would probably speak to an attorney.

WOW congrats on your band anniversary and losing 87 pounds! Are you logging your food to make sure you're in your calorie range? Try using dailyplate.com How far and fast are you walking? Maybe try using different muscles that the body isn't adapted to as well.

Since having my fills... I am so bored with food I could care less if I eat now or not. But I do cause my body needs fuel. I have no interest really in food. I haven't felt a hunger pang in months. I only know it's time to eat cause the clock says so.

Has anyone reached thier goal weight and then
Brandy~ replied to imb316's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you're too tight get a tiny unfill. Other than that... heck no thats your head hunger talking to you. Why would you want to go back to eating alot? You didn't eat like a normal person if you had this surgery. I am sorry if thats harsh. You were chosing a healthy lifestyle. Stick with it don't stumble. -
Do We Ever Come To A Place That We Don't Need A Fill?
Brandy~ replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you're doing maintance you will not be getting fills. If you are continuing to lose after your goal and you don't wish too you will want to get a slight unfill till you're comfortable with the amount you can eat to maintain. Sometimes you may need to go in and have the fill refreshed as it seems to lose a slight amount over time. -
Wish me luck.. I have signed up for wiialerts.com for the Fit. I bought my Wii using this service as well last summer Now the waiting starts oh man im impatient.

Lots of people have hernias repaired during the surgery. I don't think it would be that big of deal. I wish you lots of luck with your band journey -
It's the best feeling I go back in August if I am starting to be able to eat more I may ask him to refresh my fill to make sure I am still at the same or maybe give a baby fill. My doc puts the needle in and fills the band all the way up. He gives me sips of water and has me sit up. While sitting he slowly withdraws the fluid from the band until I say stop. So I am in total control of my own restriction. As for the other conversation about the doctors being stingy with fills. There is no reason you have to take that from your doctor. You pay him for his time. He is at your beckon call. I chose a surgeon that was in agreement with me that I am in command of my health and he is there to guide me. Switch doctors and don't look back. I interviewed surgeons before I chose one. Everyone should do their research.

Stop where you're comfortable. We all get wrapped up in numbers. I am only 5' 3" but I plan on being around 150-160. I will probably wear a 9-10 thats what I was before my kids.. It was perfect for me and yet its still overweight for my height. I will continue to lose and then maintain when I feel that I am comfortable : ) I wish you the best of luck.

I would have the surgery. You really need to think of yourself first when it comes to your health. Why do you have to wait a year? Can't you heal and then plan a trip that isn't associated with a wedding? They will see you much more healthy that way as well! I planned my wedding around the lapband hehe. I was banded 4/23 want to lose 100 pounds total. My wedding is 2/7/09 on the beach in kauai. As much as I wanted to have my wedding. I have chose to move it out and get healthy that will make seeing everyone all that much better!

Congrats on your weightloss so far. I too only have 2 fills and I am very restricted :wink2: -
Congratulations on your awesome weight loss :wink2: I hope to report wonderful numbers like you as well. I was banded 4/23 and have lost 40 pounds. I am looking forward to another 9 pounds per month hopefully.
