Sounds like what I was thinking. I was so worried that it was a phase that I did wait 3 weeks. Nothing could be worse than being too tight I bet. My band comes and goes sometimes with menstrual and stress etc.... So I would be worried about going in too soon. Good luck!

Just checking in.. I don't do it enough on this thread.. Always running around to all the general threads lol Anyway about 7 weeks ago I went and got my second fill going up to 2.1/4.0 cc band. I found my sweet spot for about 4 weeks. Then all the sudeen BAM I could eat everything and anything again. I sat on the last fill till today making sure I watched what I ate. I managed to maintain my loss so that was good. I told the doc to fill me up again.. LOL Like I was at the gas station. He checked and out of the 2.1 CC I only had 1.75 CC left in the band. It's a real phenomenon where the heck liquid goes out of a band jeez.... So he did just that and filled me up! He put me at 2.25 cc's. I am hoping this is where it needs to be again and I can go back to my 2-3 pound a week loss. We talked about where in the world that the saline could go and like most of the other doctors since I don't have any problems not to worry about it and that it's common to lose some of the fill once in a while. I was 267 @ surgery on 4/23 down to 221 today so lost 46 pounds. I can really feel the difference

center of excellence?? *just a rant* SORRY lol
Brandy~ replied to KristyLynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too would just show up at their office with the boxes in hand. I used the center of excellence in Eugene, Oregon and had the exact opposite experience. I can talk to anyone on the staff in just minutes. Very good service there. -
Better fills with or without Fluoroscopy
Brandy~ replied to lapbandmexico's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I havent had to have it. My surgeon fills my band all the way up, has me sit up and sip water, he slowly lets the saline out till I feel the water go down and he stops. -
You're very close to him and it sounds as if you would feel like you would feel guilty for not telling him and that makes sense... given the relationship. I would tell him if I was you before the surgery... You may want to print out a few Faq's on the band to give to him to read. You never know he might just want to be a part of the journey. Only 2 people on my family side know of the surgery but EVERYONE on my inlaw side knows because I am alot closer to them. They are my biggest fans and cheer me on when it comes to the band and mile stones. Really for you sharing it with him will probably make you feel like you got it off your chest and you can then begin enjoying the journey to the band with both of your parents.

Oh Fairy you have not met mine then! I have never seen a bill. complete opposite of how my life was before him. I say can I get htis or that and it's sure or lets save or whatever its so nice. Hollie it sounds like you too will be just fine. You're young though so you can expect alot more life changing events to come.. You just have to work through them. I wish you the best of luck. -
Last Supper weight gain and now liquids
Brandy~ replied to Ravenesqued's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a preop diet. I even went out to my favorite italian place at 7 pm the night before my surgery! Lucky for me I lost 5 pounds from the time they gave me my date to the surgery. I did the mini tour of food and then realized I would still be able to eat whatever I wanted and I would have to lose EVEN MORE weight... so that nipped that in the bud. -
Whats the longest you've been STUCK?
Brandy~ replied to noahsmomm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have only been stuck a few times. I have only had my band for 4 months tho. If something sticks it's only for a few minutes... I feel it getting slimy then it goes down... so gross. -
Although some might not really have a sense of humor about their weight... I do. My husband (soon to be) and I have been together 7 years so he has seen me at my biggest. Recently after losing 46 pounds he nicknamed me ALF... hahaha ALF= A little Fat Atleast I don't have a huge nose and covered in fur right?

You're doing great gadumplin! I had surgeryon 4/23 I lost about 30 pounds in the first 2 months then NOTHING for 1 month... Then back to losing. Now I have lost 46 pounds in 4 months. You're doing great you just have to work through the plateaus.. Theres a nice payoff when you start losing again. The weird things I have noticed is even when I plateau my body changes and clothes fit differently. I had pants I couldnt wear comfortably at the beginning of my plateau.. after about 3 weeks I slid them on with ease and wear them all the time. I think your body has to make adjustments sometimes and settle in to all the changes that are taking place.

Question for the girls......birth control
Brandy~ replied to missymoo78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In the seminar I was told the same thing. I take the pill to regulate my monsterous periods.. I got worried and talked to the surgeon before the surgery (months before) He assured me that it would be fine continue taking it. I never missed a pill leading up to or after surgery.. Thankfully he let me continue or it takes months to get back to being regulated and normal flows. My surgeons office is always available to answer questions. Pick up the phone it's a quick call to see what they say :cursing: Good luck! -
Eating around the band like Nanook said is when you eat foods that do not have nutritional value or are very low in it, high in calories, fat, salts etc. For some weird reason these foods go down alot easier than most high Protein foods. Try to avoid puddings, candies, shakes, fruit juices, ice cream, chips, sodas, and alcohol.

Don't want to over step my boundaries...
Brandy~ replied to Hollie519's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Telling anyone and everyone that will listen about your success is a must.. I can't hold it in... well other than to coworkers who have no idea. Regardless of meaning well I think I would leave it at "I had it through a study and they have spots left, it was free" and not insinuate that you think they need a WLS. Some people are very easily offended. But I could tell you were just trying to be helpful.. some people just takes things all wrong. -
I had surgery 4/23 and have lost 46 pounds in 4 months. It's doable.

New to this Forum and waiting for the surgery
Brandy~ replied to NanaLaura's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You don't have to say goodbye to foods.. I thought the same thing and ate like a horse leading up to the surgery! I only ended up having to lose a few extra pounds after the surgery because of it. Just remember you will eat all the foods just in moderation. Some people arent able to tolerate some foods but really for the majority I wouldn't panick. I have lost 46 pounds and can eat any food I want just no more than 1/2 a cup and I am stuffed. -
Hello Kt. I am very sorry to hear you have had complications. I haven't experiences spasms but I would be interested in knowing what could be causing this to happen as well. Hopefully the tests will come back and you will be able to get this issue resolved.

11 days after having the band put in
Brandy~ replied to bandetta12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
WOW sounds like everyone is doing great. I love the comment about focusing on 10 pounds at a time. I have found my greatest success to set mini monthly goals. I might set a goal of 8 pounds this month and then 7 or 9 next month. I usually get very close to them and feel as if I am accomplishing something. I was banded on 4/23 and I have lost 46 pounds. All my weight was post op since I didn't have a preop diet and only 1 week of liquids post surgery. You may have plateaus here and there I know I do but just keep on track and you will find success. Great to see everyone supporting one another  -

Please help..I'm banded, but I've lost my motivation completely
Brandy~ replied to Mysticalks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Set a goal for yourself a small one.. a very attainable one to start off Log all food at daily plate Get moving. Try exercising even if its only 15 minutes a day have a Water bottle with you all the time Good luck. I have struggled too. I have managed to lose 45 pounds since 4/23 and have fell off the wagon more than once. You'll be fine. Just work on going back to bandster rules. -
Worried about Calorie intake
Brandy~ replied to littlefroggy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are right.. youre not getting enough ccalories. If you're still on the liquid stage I would add more of the shakes or something like odwalla. Be surethey have protein in them though. -
Hello Allison and welcome to LBT! Good luck with your journey to and with the band :wink2:

Hello and welcome to LBT. Sorry I do not have the answer to your questions since I had a different insurance company. I would start by calling the insurance and asking if they cover it. I did and was pleasantly suprised when they said yes.
