Congrats Bikini! The day I got my surgery date you were in the chatroom when I ran in screaming I was approved..... Boy does time fly  You're on your way and I wish you the best of all in your lap band journey.
-
Something positive for me today would be: I can beat the TOM Water retention with water. It's a positive goal for the day does that count?

This is a stupid question and probably the age old one.... they calculate that I need to eat 1500 to maintain my weight at 215 with a sedentary lifestyle. So why when I eat 1200 calories and burn 500 in exercise I don't lose!)&*()*(!&!!!
-
Holy crap! They should have a disclosure next to anything over 350 calories on menus lol I was already having soup so thats ok but I could sure do with some cheesecake!
-
Oh man I don't think I could keep up with the spin class and I ride my bike to work on and off for a total of 12-13 miles. That would kill me to ride like they do... The treadmills at my gym face the spin class room. I think it's phsycological to get you moving more on the treadmill lol I would love to try zumba I wish I knew one locally and or had a friend to go.

That's super dee dooper awesome Turler!!! 1 pound is 1 pound and they all add up the same. Great job and you probably pushed through that plateau keep up the great work!

need help with low-cost healthy recipes
Brandy~ replied to MEJONES's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Low cost and healthy aren't usually synonymous (SP?) I have a group of staple foods in my house that are mostly mine as a bandster. chicken is always a must for me. You can grill, fry it, bake, boil it, you name it. You can season chicken so many ways that the possibilities are endless with it. Another good thing about chicken is you can always make a chicken Soup out of almost nothiing if you have a piece of left over chicken! If you want to just try fish go get it from a deli by the pound and get a tiny cut. I don't eat much fish since it smells up the house it's horrible. Shrimp is great for you and yes stinky too lol. I buy a bag of the tiny cooked shrimp and store it in the freezer for quick easy meals. I will just take a handful out and toss it in the pan with some mushrooms (High in protein) and onions with butter and garlic! Yumm and great Protein. I think the shrimps $10 a bag and lasts me 2 months lol I use alot of tuna. Instead of mixing with mayo I will use tostitos spinach dip (waaaay better for you) or another light dressing... You can mix it with lite mayo and relish too thats very good. You can get the pieces of seasoned tuna in a package for a couple bucks each and try those as well in the tuna section. Theres so many wonderful foods out there that we can eat it's unreal. I however am a cook at heart and a volume eater.... so I spend hours and hours in the kitchen cooking as my hobby even tho I can only taste it here and there. I am having a great time finding all the new food flavors that I can meld together. -
Hey Yvonne.. Wow when it rains it pours eh? I am so sorry to hear about the job loss.... Those are never easy. You're doing the right thing by taking your frustrations out in exercise  I hope your foot has healed well and you will continue to be able to progress in a work out routine. Hows your restriction?

That sounds fun. I just wish I had a friend around here that would stick to their word and work out with me lol. On another note Bea started a pretty cool thread for Avengers to 'strut their stuff with pics' Kinda neat to see the people you talk to all the time. I find the main photo thread very interesting and inspiring but not quite as personal as ours could be... stop by and add a picture... Thanks for the cool thread Bea. I can't wait to go to my 6 month post op appt because they will take more during pics and put them in my chart for comparison.
-
These are 4 months post op I think only about 35 down here. I am now 52 down. I will look for more pics. Heres one face shot from this week.
-
Okies this sounds fun. I will go check for some. I don't have alot of pre surgery body shots... I ran from cameras.
-
Hmm does your gym offer it or do you go to a dance hall? I haven't seen or heard of it here in the hippy capital lol

Yeah I think I have some fluish thingy going on. Stomach noises are just insane and I am nauseaus. The reglan works I just take it about 30 minutes before I eat. I talked to the doc and told him on my own accord I was going to liquids and mushies. He agreed. So last night I made a batch of potatoe and ham soup with just a little bit of cheese. Since I am sick I left the bacon out lol. It went down and sat nicely with my stomach this morning so that was awesome. I hate Protein shakes so I will probably be drinking broth, decaff tea, Water, and more soup. I haven't seen the scales move in a while but I am hoping that something happens soon. As much as I don't want to be sick maybe changing up my diet with mush will get it moving. Ok what's Zumba? Sounds like it takes coordination... I kinda lack it!
-
Did everyone elses doctors give them a prescription for reglan (Sp right?) Everyone at my work has been sick and so far I am doing well... Till this afternoon. For Breakfast I had 2 sips of Soup (I am tight in the morning) And it just didn't sit right... it went down but I felt ikky, no morning snack, at lunch I heated up 2 oz of grilled chicken and took about 3 bites and wanted to puke.... So far all I have had is 24 oz of Water and that's not good. I called the doctor and he said just take the prescription he sent me home with post op. I hope it works... I should have them in my purse but they are at home :crying:

I already have alot planned to enjoy my new size and I am only 1/2 way there! I have 1 trip to Kauai planned for 2/5/09 while we are all there (15 are going) My fiance and I will be married on the beach! Something i wouldn't have wanted to do at 270lbs In June I have a rollercoaster trip planned with my daughter to six flags in california. This time I will fit into every single one of them. The best part is I will be more comfortable on the planes

Wow you're doing super! Keep up the good job I weighed 267 too had surgery on 4/23 and weigh 215. Like you I would rather not do the fill/unfill thing. I would prefer to lose slow over that.

B - 1 egg with cheese L - 1 slice of turkey with spinach dip rolled up in a piece of lettuce S - Handful of mix nuts D - Home made pot pie ( a few nibbles of the crust) Protein/Calories - Water - 60 oz Exercise - Ran a total of 3 miles. Split them into 3 short 1 mile runs

Good morning all! Well I guess its good and bad that I haven't budged on the scale since it's TOM : ( Maybe next week I will find I lost some. I have my 6 month check up coming and can get another fill if I want. I think I will stick with the one I have. Even though I am not losing I think any tighter and I would have issues. I cannot guzzle Water, no breads, Pasta if I chew forever, too big of a bite and I get the golf ball effect. So I am pretty determined to stay at this restriction even though I am losing very slowly! I was getting really bored of exercising so lately I have been taking my dog running. But I thought I would try something new. Normally I walk/run/walk/run etc. Well I started stretching and warming up and then just going straight into a run. I make it all the way around this one area and back before I am going to die.. then I walk it off outside. I did this about 2-3 times per day the last few days. My dog loves the short burst of exercise and I am hoping it mixes up my muscles a bit and I start burning more.
-
I would be very interested in a recipe for that if you have time. I have 2 teens and a hubby.. all of them are skinny and I would like them to stay that way so I try to cook healthy since I am their cook hehe
-
Bea funny that you mention the undies.. I have got to get some new ones lol. When you put them on and use your pants to hold them up then you know you need to get new ones lol. Congrats on the cute undies.

Hello and welcome to LBT! I am confident you can hit that goal as well. Alot of people even hit a loss like that within the first year. I think it will all depend on how motivated you are. I started as 267 and at 5 months post op I had lost 52 pounds. You will do great!
-
Hello and welcome to LBT:) I spent the first bit of my life in Hattiesburg I really want to go back to visit. Sounds like everything is going well with your to do list. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I could probably find a thread to post this in but I am already here. What do you crave for TOM? Mine is like clock work so I know when I crave salt it's about to happen. Today a coworker brought in tomatoes out of his garden and gave them to me. I ate one of the cherry ones to be nice...... HOLY COW that was so good. I grabbed the salt shaker and have spent all day eating 1 at a time... slowly.. but it's curing my craving and omg they are so good
