Hello and Welcome to LBT. I know what you mean by everyday seems like an eternity... That's how I felt when I was waiting. Just remember as a bandster or prebandster all were ever doing is waiting  We wait to see a surgeon, wait for approval, wait for surgery, wait to lose weight... wait for fills etc. You learn alot of patience in this journey.

Welcome to LBT! Congrats on getting this far. I am sure you will be approved very soon.

A good one to keep you from cheating or reducing the urge to cheat in the evenings is... 2-3 Protein shakes during the day and then broiled chicken at night for dinner. That's another diet the docs use.
-
Theres lots of ways but if you can stand the Liquid Protein diets that they do for preop patients I would do that. Alot of people drop alot of weight fast. Hello and welcome to LBT!
-
I believe in dailyplate.. I log everything. Once I plateau I try to go back to the menus that were working. I havent gained anything back I just have breaks here and there where I don't lose anything. I can never let my calories drop or I don't lose, too little Water, too little Protein and I dont lose. Bandster rules are not a diet they are a healthy lifestyle change.

Bea thats hillarious. The best work out is the one where you have fun.. Really makes it more rewarding when you're a little sore  That means you worked them hard! Carol what's your restriction like right now? Can you take large gulps without it backing up? Do you get stuck ? Oh I logged all my food for today already because I have it packed. I am leaving town for a concert. I will just eat out of what I have packed. I even logged the 3 shots of jaeger I brought lol
-
This is my first holiday season with the band. I am at full restriction too. Gonna have to be careful and chew chew chew. Thankfully I do most of the cooking so no time to eat lol
-
Wow that's great to hear Katy. I will cross my fingers for you that it's the sweet spot! Just checking in.. I am doing good. I didn't lose anything so far this week. I seem to lose on fridays and the weekend so I am still hoping.

Hmm I had my tubes tied through my belly button but not my band. You can barely see my scars anyway so mine wasn't bad. Interesting though

First.. Hello and welcome to LBT! Second That's awesome! I remember when I got that call... I jumped up from my desk and ran out the back door of my work to call all my friends haha. I never told anyone at work so they just thought I was crazy lol. Good luck and wish you a very speedy recovery :rolleyes2:

Hello and WELCOME to LBT :rolleyes2: I had surgery on Weds and returned the following Monday. You will need to plan on loose fitting clothes though if you plan on going back fairly quickly. I have an office job though so it was easier to return.
-
Its a good sign you're belching :rolleyes2: The more air that you get outta you the better it will be. Yes, it gets much much better. The first few days are hard. Just make sure that you dont just lay around... keep moving. The key to feeling better is to keep the blood flowing and moving around will help to get the gas out of you and avoid pains later on.

I am sorry to hear they are making it so rough on you Munger :rolleyes2: Have you tried calling them recently?

Hello! I took started my lapband journey at about the same age as you :rolleyes2: I have BCBS and also had to have a 6 month diet. It was CAKE... other than having to wait 6 months it was easy. I picked a nutritionist seperate from the surgeon. I would check in with her 1 x per month for about 15 minutes. She was very kind and just said ok youre doing good or watch out your eating too much of this kind of food etc. In the end I only lost about 5lbs over the 6month... because I didn't try. If I had it to do over again I would of worked harder to lose some weight. Turns out my insurance wont deny you for getting under a 40bmi after the diet.. So I would of had a head start lol. Oh well now im blabbering on and on. Good luck with your journey  -

Hello Diana and welcome to LBT! I see I missed the welcome wagon when you first arrived :rolleyes2: I am sorry. Congrats on meeting with the surgeon today and getting one more step out of the way. What insurance do you? Do you have comorbities? Your BMI would qualify at 226 for 5'1" You're well on your way now... It's a journey and a fun one at that  Good luck!

How much weight did you lose in the first month?
Brandy~ replied to Brandy~'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It really depends on the doctor. I was able to eat unlimited solids on week 3.. Most docs say week 4 though. -
Thats awesome that you have restriction Leslie. Just have to see how TOM goes. I know you were concerned about that. I believe it or not with more in my band seem to be less restricted this TOM than normal.. go figure. There is no rhyme or reason with this band I don't think
-
If you don't already I would measure your food and then try eating about 3/4 of what you do now. You have gotta stop sooner or you can have all kinds of complications along with the annoyance of being overly full. Are you sure that you don't have something stuck?
-
I got an unsolicited compliment! I was walking from my office through the parking lot to a truck... when I got back one of our employees said that I had lost so much weight they couldn't even tell it was me that they were driving up on haha Yay GO ME!
