How many pounds did you lose in a month?
Brandy~ replied to StephOnee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My total goal is 111 lbs. I have lost 90lbs in 10.5months. My average weight loss turned out to be around 8.6lbs a month. I didnt see that last month though. I think I lost around 5lbs. It will slow down closer to goal. -
No you're so totally right and that's coming from a parents standpoint. I worked my @ss off as a kid.. I had a paper route, I babysat, and I worked in my dads lumber mill and his building supply. Between all the jobs I had I almost worked full time while going to jr. high and highschool. The last house we had I waited and waited for someone to come around with a lawnmower and say 20 bucks to mow your lawn... I would of jumped at the chance. Now at the new house we just hired a gardener... ridiculous that I can't find a neighbor kid to expel some child labor..

I am sorry to hear that you may have to have an unfill. I don't have alot of wise words for you other than willpower. That of which I have none of. If you're unfilled though you porbably will be on liquids and such until any swelling you might have goes down. Just hang in there. I have my fingers crossed for you!

I applaud everyone on the weight they have lost.. I am truely shocked though that so many still want to follow this program. I didn't get banded to go on a diet. I guess that's how I ended up with the band because I couldn't stand structured diets like that. I would fall off the wagon then feel like a failure and go back to what I knew best... Volume eating.

WOW It's nice to see lots of people posting  I need about 1588 calories to fuel myself for a day. I usually eat about 800 calories and have about 300 calories of liquid calories a day. so I am around 1100. I don't always count them because I have began losing the last few months on a regular basis. Since my scale broke though I feel heavier... But I think it's bloating since TOM is this weekend I went back to exercising the last 2 days... I haven't done that in months... It's hard to go and do it when the weight was falling off without doing it.. But that just means I will be a big saggy mush without muscle if I don't do something and get off my badonka! I have 21lbs till goal and I was really hoping to have that by this fall. I gotta get movin if I am gonna stick to that :w00t:

What the heck.... Just for fun here is me at my first visit to the surgeon and then a current one from a few days ago. I am almost 11 months post op. My scale broke a while back and I haven't set the new one up. Last I knew I was down 90lbs. -
I hope they don't mess with the servers again.... I actually worked all day at work because of it...

PJTP~ weighed in last night still at 181.... get up this morning step on the scale I weighed 132! Either it's broken and going back to costco or I just met goal overnight LOFL I like the 2nd reasoning more... but I have a feeling I have to go to costco later

wow busy busy forum YAY I like it. Gwenn- I might have miss spoke.. I don't stick to 1/2 a cup. I just cannot physically eat more than that. So I think someone that doesn't have as much restriction shouldn't have to try to adhere to that cause everyone is different. Just an FYI about the Protein drink you mentioned.. You drank it correctly by not consuming it all at one time. The body can only process a certain amount of protein in one sitting.. the rest is washed out through the system. The amount you can process is up for debate still. My mom is in the nutrition field and says between 20-30 at most. Everyone is doing great. we all have our ups and downs but were sticking together and sticking to it. Now we need to call Leslie back out... I hope all is well with her I worry. Oh I bought a new scale at costco a nice one by healthometer... it's worked wonderful for a few weeks and I got it all programmed... well now I weigh and it said I lost 48lbs over night LOFL I LOVE IT! So I have my husband get on and check it and it says he weighs about 25lbs less. It's broke and going back. I liked seeing such a small # on the scale tho haha.

CC you will be fine! I am very happy to hear that you were able to find a great doctor to help you. Sounds like you're on track now with better health care and that you will be able to maintain till the swelling is down.

GDF I think restriction is really different for most people. Some I know can eat a whole cup of food and lose 2 pounds a week. Unfortunately I am not one of them lol. You will find a happy medium I am sure.
