    Week 3 plateau???

I didn't read anyone elses response but ... The first month or so you shouldn't be concerned with the loss this is a time for healing. You may feel better but it take massive amounts of energy and nutrients from the body to heal from surgery. I am on a 2 month plateau atm ... It happens and you just have to shock the body back into a loss. Change things up. Don't do the same exercises or always eat the same foods. 800 calories? Not enough. I have to have atleast 1000-1200 a day for my body to even consider dropping a pound. Also the Water intake for me has to be over the top... atleast 80oz+ Good luck.
  2. It's nice to meet you and I am very glad you came looking for answers. You shouldn't go into this surgery without the proper research first. The surgery is reversible but very much a life altering experience. Everyone on here is so willing to answer the questions if you don't find them already within the threads.
  3. Congratulations! I had to do the 6 month diet too. I thought it was gonna kill me waiting the 6 months but I made it. I just used that time to learn everything possible about the band.

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

I really don't know what all my wall is other than the lack of exercise and too much wine I have the same restriction as I did since my 4th fill 7 months ago. I do eat more often but I can only eat 1/4 cup at a time. I need to get more disciplined again to see whats causing it. we have all still done a wonderful job though and I am sure we can all get back on track.

    Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hi all. I have been awol for a while I am stuck on facebook along with alot of other bandsters. If you wanna friend me its surveyshere@gmail.com Anway I was just checking in. I am on a plateau and have been for almost a month. I am stuck at 90lbs lost. I can honestly say it's my own fault lol. I will take responsibility. I have not been exercising and I have had more glasses of wine then I normally allow myself while losing weight. I am not settling but I am ok with it for now. I kinda needed a little break. I hit my 1 year goal of 90lbs lost so I am happy. I am going snowboarding the next 2 weekends so that will burn some calories. I also have mountain biking plans up at the ski passes in a month or so. In the meantime though for the most part I have kept the water intake above 70 oz a day so I didn't get out of that habit. Hope this update finds everyone well. My band anniversary is next week!

    New to the site...my story

The fill really only feels like a shot to me. You feel the puncture of the needle and that is it. the saline runs through a tube so it's not like you feel it shooting all over inside of you. I do not notice the port or the tube unless I am intentionally trying to find the port. You will have a tiny spot about 1.5" wide where the port is that is hard when you press on it. This is the injection site of the port. That is all. For everyday activities you will not notice it. I recommend reading all that you can here on LBT because being informed is the right way to go. Of course there are complications and there are issues that arise but the complications and the negatives for me were very tiny in comparison to losing 90lbs and gaining massive amounts of health benefits. Believe me you dont' lose your social/career life over it and you will live better because of it. I have much more of a social life and the band doesn't slow me down. I have quite the opposite...I go out of my way to go places, do things, and socialize. tonight I am going to a brewery with about 10 coworkers to have drinks, nibble on Snacks, and just hang out. I wouldnt have done that before. It's truely the best thing I have done.

Here is the real deal. Your health is #1. Your career is 2nd. The deal is that you're making a move towards a healthy you. I won't sugar coat it. You will have to undergo what is a minimally invasive surgery. You will have recovery time and will be very sore. Most people on average are off work from 3-7 days. I personally was off work for 3 days. You will have to most likely undergo a preop diet that is NO FUN.. You normally only get liquids for 2-6 weeks depending on the doctor. I was very lucky and didn't have to do this with my surgeon. After surgery you will have a few weeks of more liquids, a few weeks of soft foods, then on to real food. In the weeks to follow they call this Bandster hell. This is when you're head is telling you that you're starving because you are having so many liquids and your body is craving all the shitty foods you used to eat. Your body may be physically hungery as well but you will be fine. You have to follow what your surgeon says or you risk your band slipping later on. Probably about 6 weeks after surgery you will go in and have a fill.. which are usually pain free for me... like getting a shot. Some will notice restriction right away and begin eating much less... Some will take 5+ fills to get restriction. I haven't had a fill in 7 months and I have great restriction so it took 4 fills for me to achieve what I have. You will have to learn to cut things very small and chew chew chew. You will pay the consequences with PB/sliming if you don't You have to have patience and for me that's been the hardest part. As far as having work dinner. In situations where I am concerned about my reactions to food... I order Soups or something very light and pick at it. I always just say I am not that hungry or I had a big lunch/breakfast etc. Tons of ways around it.

    5 month check in..should I be disappointed?

Its a marathon not a race. each person has their own pace. I have plateau and then lose plateau and then lose. I wouldn't get dissapointed I would just keep plugging along it comes when it comes... Dissapointment is just another set back that you don't need.

    Psych Eval....

My phsyc eval consisted of multiple hours of being interviewed and fill in the dot tests... The best part was I got off a line on my pshyc eval test and I failed it... They thought I was a nutcase I bet. So they called me and told me I had to come retake a new test. Took like 3 hours to do the second test. By the end of it I almost couldn't care less if I had surgery it was torture. Everyones is different I hope yours is better.
  21. I haven't had the shoulder pain. I hear it's mostly contributed to the air in the abdomen. Some people get it when they are hungry and some get it when they are full too

    Have anyone tried Wii Fit?

I tried so hard to find mine when they weren't very many out there a year ago... I got it and got bored of it  I have unlocked stuff and it's fun sometimes when friends are over or such... But to do religously by myself I can't do I get bored of it .
