staying on plan for today because I haven't been and I have only maintained.. -
Sorry I guess I am just used to forums that have certain people that are available certain times of the day and such. No biggie. It's just that she knows she can buy herself a certain amount of advertising time LOL Just irritates me to see them using the system.

Holy cow you're doing well. Keep up the good work. I am froze in time at 90lbs lost for now. If I ever get the scale moving again I might reevaluate too.

Congratulations on your surgery date! I will be wishing you a very speedy recovery

Congrats on your weight loss and welcome to LBT! Now that is some big bright font!

I honestly didn't search but you might be able to find someone from the fillipines in the Local lapband threads. They have 'other places in the world' or something like that in the following link. Local Lap-Band Support Groups - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum Good luck! -
So excited- just getting started

BTW Not that it matters since it covers it but I had BCBS too and it was covered. Good luck! -
Theres always something... I am having my own crisis atm lol. I want to know if the freaking MODS even respond to MOD alerts or if they remove advertising posts?
-
Maybe they are just venting, getting it off their chests or hoping someone has a new approach to approval. If you don't want to read it. Dont.
-
I stay clear of the crappy news like that... I think theres some ridiculous low # of people in the US that have even been hospitalized for it... far less than the average flu victim per year. It's not worth my time to read it.
-
Uggh could someone please tell me why they let surgical centers post advertisements on the threads? Why don't they respond when I send a mod alert?! How do I get it removed it's annoying. To me it could fall under the paid to post.

Thanks KC. If I can do it really anyone can. I am on a plateau right now but I have my first fill in 7 months scheduled for 5/13. I am hoping that will get me to my goal weight. I have a goal of 160 right now and I am currently 181 and wear a 12. Once I get to 160 I will decide if I am going to keep going. I cant believe that 1 year ago I was 271 and could barely go up a flight of stairs without losing my breath. It's a total wake up call once those pounds start coming off.

Hello! Congratulations on the surgery approval  I am sure you will have a date very soon! Until then snoop around LBT and get to know everyone they are always willing to help.

I was banded on 23 April 2009.

Hello and welcome! I was banded in 2008 on 4/23  Congrats on your surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery! -
Yeah I had it Laprascopic. The whole surgery took about 30 minutes. He said it wasnt a problem at all. They will probably require the preop diet though so the liver shrinks up and gives more room to access the stomach... plus that reduces the fatty liver issues.

Congrats and welcome! I am 1 year out and was banded in april 08.. This time next year you will be on cloud 9

Insurance does not cover...depressed :(
Brandy~ replied to deemarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello and welcome. I had UHC and was denied. However, I didn't even bother to appeal. I just rolled over and gave up. Luckily 1 year later my work switched insurance to BCBS of Minnesota and they paid for it. There's alot of doctors that will do it for alot less than 18k if you do end up being a self pay patient... There is a doctor here in Oregon that is 10k for everything he is in Coos Bay, Oregon Terisigni (I think thats spelled right) There's one in Colorado I have heard about. Do you have any comorbities? Your BMI is over 40 so you're fine there. Does your insurance have a specific exclusion for WLS? I would get on the phone and find all this out. -
from far away philippines

Hello and welcome to LBT.. That's exciting that the band has moved into your city. I think that you will be able to find all the support you could want here on LBT. -
I am 5' 2" and was 271lbs the day of surgery... I had surgery on Weds and was back to work on the following Monday. You can barely even see any scars on my stomach... it's almost like it never happened. Vomiting... It's not vomiting as you know it... and it doesn't have to happen. Imagine taking a hose and putting a band around it and trying to stuff a golf ball through it... is it going to fit? nope it's gotta come back up. I say it's not vomiting because it never goes in the stomach... atleast for me. It sits on top of the band and if this happens all I really do is bend over and the pressure causes it to come right back up. My stomach doesn't spasm or contract like it would if I vomited or anything. That's graphic but that's how it works for me and has only happened a couple times. I don't have 1 single problem with it if I slow down when I eat, take small bites, and chew it up well.... and the big one STOP when you're full. This band is the best thing I ever did and if there was a job out there where I could just travel around telling people how wonderful it was I would be doing it.

How Many Calories Are You Eating?
Brandy~ replied to BearSpiritGuide's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am much farther out from surgery than you but... I haven't felt a hunger pang for about 8 months... I eat by the clock. I average 1000-1200 calories a day when I am losing in my sweet spot. You just have to work at it and find a schedule that works well for you to get in everything that you need. Eventually it will just be like clock work.
