band cut my stomach open too tight
enjoylife replied to TryingHard's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
search for a member named DrWatkins. he posts on several threads. his information appears to be good - and its free. he has a web site - he only does lap band according to his site. its worth a try. like he always ends - i hope this helps.... -
congrats. that's amazing progress. do you know why some bands are 4cc and others are 10cc? i never knew there was a difference in band sizes.
-
wow. that's great. you sound so happy. that makes me happy for you and hopeful for me.
-
awesome thread - i'm gonna post as soon as i finish reading all of it.
-
great post. i'm waiting to be banded and i love reading about other people's success. it encourages me and calms my fears.
-
i know just how you feel - about the waiting and the "pretty face" compliment... our time is coming. I'm waiting too - for approval - its driving me batty!

why don't you plan for a trip. give yourself something to look forward to. maybe not somewhere as expensive as Hawaii, but soemwhere you can have fun. My family is going to Orlando this summer. My goal is to be able to wear something that I iwon't sweat too much in and to be able to walk with my daughter all over Disney World. If I can do those4 two things - especially the second - then I will be soooo happy. So - what can you plan that will make you happy?

its ok to slip. just don't give up. who wouldn't eat chocolate chip cookies? at least one! hang in there - and listen to carol - she is sooo right.

I can't wait to read about tomorrow. That's surgery - rebirth day right? Good Luck to you.

my hands are raised...good luck to you!!!! -
I have not been banded yet. My info has been submitted to the insurance company. I'm waiting. It was submitted last week Wednesday - That was six reg. days and four business days ago. They it normally takes about two weeks to get an answer. I hope I can survive the wait. I used to be 36. I'm not anymore. I have a five year old. I want to be alive while she grows up. I want to enjoy my life with her. I want her to be proud to say to her friends, "That's my mommy." she is now, but she's five. I wonder if she would feel the same if she were sixteen.

I have not been banded yet, but I have a friend that has. she sometimes get frustrated too. i guess we're all just different. if you need more fill, then get more fill. I don't think it helps to compar yourself to others. just do what is comfortable and works for you. i read one story in here where a woman lost over 100 pounds before she received her first fill. Good for her. When I get my chance, I'm going for my fills based on what I need. You need to do you - nobody else. Keep giving yourself those affirmations. You will do it - you're right - nobody and nothing can stop you. Safe Journey.

you can do it. hang in there.

Well I have done everything that the doctor says I have to do. The six month diet, the psych eval, the stress test, the nutrionist appointments, and of course the consultation. This is the third time I have started this journey. the first time was for gastric bypass, but for me it felt like drastic bypass, so i passed that one by. then last year i started over. i went to consultations and seminars at two different places. I chose Dr. Singh in Catonsville, MD. its a longer drive, but he's the one the trained the other doctor I considered. I would have done the surgery last year, but some family stuff came up, i had to move, and i started school. not a good time to be thinking about life altering surgery. Anyway, I went to see Dr. Singh, this past summer. He's so calm and funny. I told him I'm ready. I like his practice - he works with Dr. Averbach (anybody else here using that practice?) He also doesn't charge and arm and a leg for extra stuff that i cannot use - like a gym membership. the other place did. it was more than 45 minutes away - who travels that far to go workout? i pass by like 15 workout places just getting there. for that he wants $2500 extra dollars that the insurance does not cover. of course it includes two visits with the personal trainer and two visits with the nutrionist - its the same person - the surgeon's wife. Dr. Sing's nutiritionist offers unlimited help for either 6 months or a year post surgery - at no extra charge. there are support group meetings - at no extra charge. and there is no extra charge for fills - yeah some doctors try that - at least the other doctor i saw does. anyway... i am now waiting for a call from the Dr. S's office saying i have been approved and my surgery date is - hmmm soon. how about they call me because someone cancelled and ask if i can come in between Christmas and the new year!!!! Yeah - that would be the ticket I wish for. Of course I'll take whatever date they give me - JUST GIVE ME a DATE - plllleeeeaaaassseee!!!! ok - i gotta go. nite all.
-
that's next on my list

i can't wait to get a date. right now i'm sitting on pins and needles hoping to get approved. good luck to you. i need to get one of those ticker tapes. is there a page for that?

The "plop" feeling in your stomach
enjoylife commented on Jennie1976's blog entry in Jennie1976's Journal
thanks for the info. now i know that once i get banded that i should not fell a "plop." congrats on the size 20's. what i wouldn't do to fit into that right now. -
Hey, it was good to read your entry about the your surgery. I need to read all the success stories I can - of course I want honesty too. I am waiting to hear from the insurance company to get approval. I have been researching this surgery for a long time. so long that when I decided to do it, they had changed the rules and required a six month pre surgery diet. Well I have done that - so now I am waiting. I will be reading your blog to check on your progress. Enjoylife.

that gain is probably just water, you've got diarhea so you must have alot of water in your system. Like MissyDFE says, "hang in there."
-
God Bless you on tomorrow - well today. I can't wait to read about your successes.
-
Good luck to you.
-
that's great. I'm happy for you.

where's my willpower
enjoylife commented on wheresmyknight3's blog entry in wheresmyknight3's Journal
hang in there. stop beating yourself up. is you fall off the wagon again - don't wait until "tomorrow" to start over. start over immediately. just think, if you slip at breakfast, you've got all day to make up for it.
