part of an FDA-approved clinical trial at BWH Boston and the Cleveland Clinic Obesity Surgery: No Incision Required- BWH Bulletin - For and about the People of Brigham and Women's Hospital -
Yes I have and I bet its a co-pay. when and what times are you calling the billing dept? If you are trying to call during lunch times or on a Monday morning its harder to get through. Ive called them several times, once I had to pay another I didnt.

I am flexible for once and the 18th good

you are overwhelming yourself right now...just try to get thru the next week and worry about dating after that.....way after that, there is no rush Let me know when you get settled in the new place maybe we can meet up for a walk on the beach? I am trying to avoid saying we could met up for dinner/drinks. doesnt it stink how much socializing and food go together!

I too go through the program at B & W Hospital in Boston. Its helped me so much and Ive met some really great people. I so wish that that a group exist that was independant of each hospital/group.

has anyone had their clothes altered? Is it worth it or just better to buy new? I have a great pair of work pants and I know Ive dropped a size and dont want to donate them.Of course I still try to wear them despite the fact I look like I am wearing clown pants
-
thanks for the responses, Ive already given so many clothes away to charity and now I am on my second round of new clothes. Acutally the pants in question were bought new in July. So I will just wait and see at this point

vomiting mostly that didnt resolve with unfills then developed into heartburn
-
would it depend on how sever the slip is? I was on liquids until my revision surgery but in my case the slip was major and I had popped a stitch. Could barely handle eating solids without major pb'ing so it was for the best.

I dont think you will have any regrets looking back bc you are doing what you know in your heart is what you want, even if it is sad. Better than staying and resenting him years later. sorry kid
-
did you get the big packet from your inital nutritionist meeting? We all have the same protocol. That spells out the entire diet. Then you move onto 2 weeks soft Protein (cottage cheese, cream of wheat, yogurt, tunafish etc)
-
I dont have our hospitals program with me now but I know that they follow Allergans specifications pretty closely. Here is a link to their website Lapband.com - The First Few Weeks After Surgery they say no to the cream soups but thin broth like soups okay. Ive used a sieve like colander with tiny holes to strain foods/soups so I still get the full flavor. You are almost at the end of your two weeks and you must have your post-op soon so talk to her about this.
-
:w00t: I KNOW how you feel I have REAL hunger too. did you have your post-op yet? you can do this, have you tried to switch things around and try different things like Soups? Its 14 on the liquids and soups and the third week should be mushies, right? (geez you'd think I remember). what about crushed ice in your Protein drinks? Keep drinking Water too
-
I remember dreaming of grilled chicken on top of salad. Glad to hear you are doing better. I am white knucking it until my 2nd fill on Monday morning. My hunger is back in full force, I have no restriction and havent lost but one pound in 7 weeks. Guess I never had bandster hell with the first band and now I do.

I've fallen off the band wagon, I need some support...
nomadem replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have to wait until Monday for my second fill. I know what you are going thru bc I had to starting over with a new bigger band and now I feel the hunger like I did before surgery. Its SCARY! I think I fooled myself that I bc I had lost weight that I had self control and wouldnt gain. Guess it true that this is a life long battle not matter what stage you are at -
the gas was so so for me. I did have some pain (wasnt expected) and I mostly was nauseous which could have been the pain meds and the gas moving around. I just kept asking and rotating the anti-nausea meds they will give you to find the magic cocktail. good that you are going in early makes the wait better and all the staff are fresh. best wishes
-
I do wish you luck Heidi, you are in good hands. If you need something dont be afraid to speak up to the nurses and staff. That is what they are there for.
-
wow Heidi thats so soon but now you dont have to fret for weeks on end. now is the time to kick it up into high gear. you can do it!!!! do you have an appt with her before the 25th for pre-op or are you all set? small confession I had a weight gain, due to TOM and salty foods.... not on the pre-op diet (before that) but she made me come back to show I could lose and I did. congrats!!
