oh thats good info, I would rather stay at B + W since I had my surgery there. any know the criteria for insurance covering reduction? -
okay a bit of a change for the month of Sept: luv2teech7 and I are going to hit up the Brigham's support meeting to check it out (and bc I have a fill appt there). I so need a kick in the pants to get back to the gym and to lay off the ice cream. Date: Tuesday Sept 16th, 6:00pm @ Carrie Hall (end of the PIKE) 15 Francis St. Meeting is open to everyone!

you are not a baby. It took me more than a week to even get back to work and even now my chest still hurts at times. I whined to my Dr and she told me that the pain would go away and day by day I feel better. hang in there!

sf pudding mixes added to what ever type of protein drinks have helped me get them down.

Lactose intolerant post surgery?
nomadem replied to Lisa B's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I became lactose intolerant after surgery not once but twice (rebanded due to slip)... Dr thinks it could have been from the high dose antibiotics but not sure....both times it resolved itself I used lactaid milk and took lactaid pills and Probiotics for a few weeks....I think getting back on some mushies and re-introducing milk back into my diet helped at about 2-3 weeks post-op -
try using a heating pad..it was my lifesaver

yes I have noticed the price differences btw depts. but Ive also noticed that sometimes a Misses 16 wouldnt fit me but a Womens 16 would. :wink2: errrr I thought it would be so much easier to shop when I lost weight but its actually HARDER bc I have to really hunt and fish for my size. Before I always knew where (plus size) I could and couldnt shop.

Hiya Paige- think postive next meeting will be better...esp since I will be there. he he he The next Faulkner meeting is Monday Sept 8th. Can anyone else make it? Finally I am starting to feel like myself. J It took a full 7 days this time around. (Side note for those who don’t know me,was just re-banded (8/05/08) due to a slippage and hiatal hernia. Its like being a newbie all over again.) Still on liquids….grrrrrrr.... but maybe can advance to mushies after my post-op on Monday? ~mel

Kerri where you on 15b? I was rebanded tuesday the 7th. you might have seen me on the unit walking around ~Mel -
heres my update re: my slip for those who are experiencing this. I had revision surgery last Tuesday. 8months after my first surgery. Dr said slip wasnt that bad and that my stomach wasnt as swollen as expected due to me being on strict liquids for two weeks but htat one of my stitches had popped. They did find I had a hiatal hernia which was caused by the slip. They also gave me a new band (from 4cc to 10cc) and I got to keep my port. Was really worried I would lose my band but my Dr wasnt going to let that happen and thankfully was very skilled

Need help in Phoenix. 6 years banded, now a slippage
nomadem replied to jenniferann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am sorry that you experiencing this but it could very well be a slip and the first thing you need is an upper GI xray. Try the AZ forums perhaps? -
How much liquid can I drink at one time?
nomadem replied to Long2BFree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ive only now seen this after re-reviewing my post-op instructions but it says-to drink 2 ounces every 15 mins and do not exceed 8 oz per hour -
hi have you checked under the complication forum? there are others there who have been thru this I have a slip am on liquids only until my corrective surgery in 2 weeks. I am trying to be as postive as I can

just found out today after a fluro that I have a slipped band. I am scheduled for repositioning in a few weeks. Reading that people have been successful after have this is so helpful and encouraging bc right now I am devastated. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I also had a flipped port and had that repaired six months ago and though I was the only one to have all this complications with in only 8 months. I liked to hear more about the recovery, was it like the first surgery with the diet progression? Do you feel a difference or relief?
