are you getting fills? without proper restriction losing is almost as difficult as having no band. and just keep thinking of how much more you will enjoy playing with your little boy with less weight on you.

Why do some say, band can get tighter after time?
favorite replied to elle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have 2.5cc in a 4cc band and i'm pretty tight. but i notice that the tightness fluctuates from day to day. i never know until i start to eat if it is going to go down easy or get stuck there. -
Exercise for Very Overweight Bandsters
favorite replied to Fenton's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i remember when i was a kid i used to watch jack lalanne on tv. he used to say all you need to exercise is a chair and be imaginative. he would hold on to the chairs back with one hand or two and to leg lifts, deep knee bends etc. then he would sit on the chair and make up other things to do. -

i've had 2 fills and both times maximum restriction kicked in about 2 weeks after. -
Why did you choose lap band over bypass?
favorite replied to maryomalley's topic in Insurance & Financing
i chose the band because it was the least invasive surgery. i also have diabetes type 2 and after 3 months with the band my endocrinologist told me they are calling the lap band the cure for diabetes type 2. i am also off my insulin with my weight loss so far. -
i am so happy that you found this site. i was banded on 10/15/07 and i have been on lbt every day since. everyone here wishes nothing but the best for each other. i know this time i am going to lose the weight and keep it off with both my tools, the lap band and lap band talk.

Timing - Should I Do It Now Or Hold Off?
favorite replied to bwohlgemuth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
have the surgery before the vacation. you will enjoy it so much more with the weight you lose being gone. dont stress about not being able to carry bags and swim. you'll be able to do it all in the time frame you posted. i was fine after a few days, so the weeks that you have will make you tip top. plus i bet you are at least 70 lbs lighter than you are now. imagine that :biggrin2: -
Roommate saw I was on Lapbandtalk.com...Came to my room to tell me it's wrong!

you dont owe her or anybody else any explanation. ignor her and do what you know will help you, and give you the quality of life that you deserve. -
dont get a fill and once you start to eat you will feel a lot better. you are depressed after losing the comfort of food to help you get through the day. the liquids stage is a bitch. once your post surgery swelling goes down you can eat pretty much, almost as much if not as much as before you were banded. you should at least wait a few months and see if you change your mind. you just might surprise yourself. whatever your decision, good luck.

pcos, banded in oct, and PREGNANT!!!!
favorite replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have a daughter with pcos and i am soooooo happy to hear you are pregnant. congratulations!!! enjoy every minute of your pregnancy. please dont worry about not eating much in the past 4 weeks, the baby takes all the nutrients that it needs from the mother. so if anyone goes lacking its the mother before the baby. i had 2 very overweight friends that lost weight through diet and eating right ALL the while that they were pregnant and had beautiful healthy babies. you really dont have to eat for two, its just a good excuse. God bless you. -

LJM, i got tears in my eyes at the sight of that picture of you in jeans. to put that along side of your first picture, at your highest weight, no one would believe it was the same person. working so hard makes the fruits of your efforts so much sweeter. what a remarkable journey. -

Banded 2-21, having problems
favorite replied to FASTFATBOY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your dr. may be able to give you a prescription for relief. but you have to move to get the gas out. even while you are sitting rotate your shoulders, and move your upper body from side to side. this will help make the gas come out. -
Type 2 Diabetes and lap band surgery
favorite replied to LoisinStA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i have type 2 diabetes and was taking 180 units of insulin daily. i had lap band surgery oct 15. i am down 47 pounds and i am now taking NO medication at all for my diabetes. my endocrinologist told me that in the new york times there was an article that says they are calling the lap band the cure for type 2 diabetes. all the diabetics in my support group are also off all their meds. its not surprising the doctors they are expecting it. i was operated on at montefiore hospital in new york city. -
my favorite fish is cod and turbot, and i am having trouble with them getting stuck. the only way to get them down is by adding them to a minestrone or vegetable soup so they are very moist.
