Congrats and way to go!! It's a proud moment when you see results like that. Keep up the good work. I had surgery on Nov. 24th, 2014 and as of today I have lost about 65 pounds, I guess we are all different in the way our weight distributes but I have gone from a tight 24 to a tight 12....I am proud of the accomplishment as well. :D :D :D :D

let me ask you this ( loose skin related)
Eclectick replied to Stevehud's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm prone to "Boils" around the sides of my bottom bra strap top of rib area, and also now that I am loosing weight, I too have that hanging skin problem that flares up occasionally with a potential rash..but more so...I am getting a boil every now and again in that area...is anyone else prone to boils? Are boils caused by eating the wrong foods, I shower everyday...I heard they are caused by an ingrown hair..but as often as I get them..doesn't make sense. Input? -
Hi Everyone, I am about 3 months post op, for the most part doing good...have lost approximately 50 lbs. I woke up this morning and it appears that my spleen (left side under ribcage) feels swollen and painful. Has anyone every had this phenomenon post op? I feel ok and not sick to stomach or fatigued or course I need my 8 hours sleep so I go to sleep at 8-8:30 and get up at 5 am, I know that's 9 hours but when my honey comes to bed, so do the 3 dogs and they tend to wake me up ..so technically I can subtract an hour.. lol Not sure if I want to go to the doctors just yet, it may be a bacterial infection working it's way out..who knows. Any and all opinions welcome!!

Going backwards with food 3 weeks post op?
Eclectick replied to jimb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
are you getting enough Water? that would cause the dizzy and lightheaded, also..if you get the feeling of throwing up after you eat...try eating less...sometimes in that phase you are pretty much introducing your stomach to different foods and it may not be able to tolerate as much as they say you should....go slow..take it easy and after a bite or two sit back and see how it sits before eating more. Hope that helps -
@@JamieLogical I have just never been a Fluid drinker, I drank-drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning and believe it or not I used to and still can go all day without another fluid. I'm just not thirsty and when I get busy at work...drinking something NEVER enters my brain. I know I need to drink more, a lot more....I know I am dehydrated..but I think I am past the mark where they would hospitalize me...I am feel good and perhaps that's why I am at a stand still with weight..I went from tight 24's to loose 18's and that is where I have been. My boyfriend suggested getting one of those hats with straws attached to bottles and keep it in my mouth and suck at all times....lol I don't know what to do....again, I try to force myself..but I'm just not thirsty at all. I tried putting a little bit of sugar free crystal light lemonaide in Water and I can drink that...but only when I am thirsty. Please help

72 pounds in 5 months, doesn't sound AT ALL bad to me. what did he expect? Grats to you -
I cook steak and pork loin the same way.. Rub meat in "Instant coffee" and a tblsp. of "Soy Sauce" put in zip lock back for an hour, better yet if you do the day before...take out bake at 275 for a couple of hours depending on how well you want it cooked, take out of oven and sear each side for 3 minutes each. Perfect steak or pork loin and the most juiciest!! Serve with baby spinach salad with craisins, lil bacon bits, corn bread croutons and balsamic dressing.

Eclectick replied to JennG25's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery

Anyone else having weird cravings?
Eclectick replied to Iowa_summergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was craving Cornish Hen 1 day after my surgery. I finally made it 4 weeks later with my mother's baste (sugar free orange marmalde, orange juice and a tsp of brown sugar) I could only eat 2/3 bites..but that was it. Now, (which I am happy about) I used to be a sweet eater especially right before bed..but I don't even crave it anymore (10 weeks post op) If I happen to get a sweet tooth, I put a little bit of 2% milk in a glass with a touch of chocolate syrup and BAM the craving is gone. -
Guess what I got this morning

Someday I will, again, be anoyed at people who say this, but for today...
Eclectick replied to OldMomOf3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your 158 lbs? I can only dream of being that size! If your a healthy eater, is getting the sleeve really what you need to switch to..seems the band is working just fine for you. Just curious is all. -
They are not gonna have to put much food out, since we have had surgery..we don't eat much!!

I take just 2 (hair, skin & Nails) Vitamins daily, with a bunch of vitamins in it, but mostly Biotin. I am glad you posted this thread cause I am surely not getting hardly close tot he vitamins I should be taking...that might explain my joint pains I have been experiencing the last week. I have flintstones at home that I keep forgetting to take, and should be taking a multi-Vitamin but like my Water...I just don't think to take them or drink my water.

Hungry All The Time....9 weeks post-op
Eclectick replied to Gleasonm8602's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm about 9 weeks out as well, I find that I am super hungry but when I actually get something to eat..I can only have 2-3 fork/spoons of it. I'm not doing good with my fluids (water) but my NUT told me instead of eating perhaps it's my body telling me I am thirsty. Try drinking more Water..that might help. -
@@Countrygrrl My post was not for you to mock me or take the wrong way...your the one that put the information out there, and unfortunately people respond to what they read or the context in which they take it. That doesn't make us right or wrong, it's just an opinion. And if you can't take someone else's opinion, not being what you want to hear than don't post anything you don't want people to respond negatively about. Perhaps meeting him for coffee was legit, and he and his wife do have an open relationship, but you and your relationship are on the rocks...and then you bring meeting a married man, that can only put ideas or things in peoples head. We can't read your mind and in your post you didn't indicate this was perfectly platonic. And I tell this now...I don't need a therapist because making those kind of decisions come easy for me. My 25 year old son was murdered 1 year ago this month, and my parents aren't doing good medically so we all have trials and triumphs to face everyday, it's the focus you put towards making right decisions that helps you through issues. This is a public forum so when you post something without all the facts, and beat around the bush...just be prepared for people to respond both positively and negatively and those that don't tell you what you want to hear...you can't automatically point anger towards them...we are all different with different views. That's my final response to this thread that probably needs to be deleted since the posted has issues with responses.

It seems by your numerous posts that your dealing with many issues in your life, your mom, your family, your surgery and your husband..weather you know his wife or not, weather you "assume" this would be good for you to have coffee while he has an open relationship with his wife...is not the kind of therapy my therapist would recommend. I think perhaps YOU are the one that needs to keep going to therapy and work out your issues that obviously are affecting your judgement in regards to your choices, your boyfriend or someone else's husband. I believe your should stop looking for romance or whatever it is your attempting to do with ANYONE and fix yourself and your own mental barriers, don't get me wrong...I am not saying your crazy or whacked...but you definitely have some issues to deal with before you start gallivanting around town with married men. I'm just looking in from the outside with the information that has been given...but i still stand by my original post...don't lower yourself into thinking this married man is going to leave his wife for you..just because he makes you feel good for a minute. look at the overall picture....would your boyfriend do this to you?? and how would you feel if he did??
-
Well, If this was me, I would first sever all ties with current relationship before pursuing another one, with that being said if this man your going to meet for coffee is a good friend that's 1 thing...but I'm from the old school unless his wife knows you and knows that you two are friends and going to have coffee.than I wouldn't meet him. I don't believe nor condone cheating in any sense of the word...and if he leaves his current wife for your....he will leave you for another woman. And if your in Therapy to help your relationship..why would you even think/dream of having coffee with another man. Fix or end the relationship your in now first. Once a cheater always a cheater. Wrong...so very Wrong!! Just my 2 cents of course.

The dreaded "in-between" stage in clothing sizes - HELP!
Eclectick replied to Christina T.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@scstxrn Sometimes immediately, but other times hour or 2 later and sometimes the next morning dinner comes out. In the morning, I have a cup of decaf coffee, and shortly after i have a normal bowel movement, however before I leave for work I usually have to go 1 or 2 more times and its watery. So needless to say I am probably loosing everything I eat except for the bad stuff which could prevent me from loosing I would think. Heck I don't know!! I really need to get in my Vitamins, (which I keep forgetting) and get my Water in (which doesn't occur to me) which may eliminate the issue. I did copy a menu plan down from another site and it's food I like, and it also includes the the times to drink the liquids so if I hang that at home and at my desk at work I should be able to follow it to a "T". We'll see if that works...if not, I will contact my Doc. and see whats up!! With all that being said, again...I am losing so could be just need to re-vamp what I am currently doing. -
I had diabetes and got the sleeve in fact my doctor recommended it.

Support...Struggling to be supportive!
Eclectick replied to ButterflyMiss's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@ButterflyMiss If you were having issues prior to surgery, then perhaps the problem is not the surgery..could it be that you both are walking different paths? If you say your not angry and not trying to control him...that is what he thinks when you tell him he NEEDS to tell you what he is doing or he NEEDS to give you the emotions that YOU need. You say your supporting him but it seems your going against him by KEEP rubbing in his face (theoretically) that you are certain his feelings have changed for you since surgery. Is that your way of saying YOUR feelings have changed, I mean look at the bigger picture..you made mention that you paid all the bills while he was recovering, he has loans/payments due out the wazoo and you were upset that he incorporated another bill with the surgery. I think/believe it could be you that maybe you feel used and now you think negative because his attitude has changed since surgery..maybe your looking for a scape goat. According to everything you say, that you may not see...sounds to me like your TRYING to control him out of love but going about it the wrong way with (nagging). Take a few steps back, learn to listen and watch instead of talk...relax and don't sweat the small stuff!! -
The dreaded "in-between" stage in clothing sizes - HELP!
Eclectick replied to Christina T.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pre-op I was able to drink the Protein shakes, but now...I can't even swallow..don't know why...I try to drink my Water..but never have been a "fluid" drinker...I could go all day without drinking a thing..I knew that was going to be my challenge and still is. Don't have a problem with yogurt or eating meats (steak, roast beef, turkey) but sometimes at work..I get so busy and I'm not hungry so I don't stop to think about eating. I'm guessing by now I have a Vitamin deficiency, everything I eat comes back out and not from my mouth..and in watery form...I know that sounds gross..but no other way of saying it. I know I am losing..but need to get proper Vitamins for it to be a healthy loss. Speaking of loss, I do have a slight hair loss issue..but not so dramatic I can't handle. Am I doomed?
