  1. Wow, Paragraphs...Paragraphs...Paragraphs I couldn't read it all, it was too much. From what I read, and don't take this the wrong way...he has a journey and goal that he is trying to achieve..men don't care for women that are breathing down their backs...be supportive/loving but let him make his own decisions or I'm afraid you might scare him off. Cook dinner at night and make a healthy meal, if he chooses not to eat then so be it...walk a mile in his shoes post op and perhaps you might get a sense of what "we" sleevers go through mentally. This response was not meant to anger you, but perhaps relieve some of the pressure.
  2. @@ProjectMe You've lost 76 lbs since December? Wow..good for you. Can you tell me what your daily intake is (menu if you will) I had my surgery on Nov. 24, and I am struggling at 30 lb loss and started at pretty much what you did. I get busy during the day and find myself not eating and then at night I can only eat a very little, I'm not even getting my Water in. Please help me...If I can get a good plan (menu) I will do everything..but kinda confused.

  4. Wow, congrats I am 1 month 6 days and I am at a 30 lb loss and down 2 pant sizes...I am so proud of myself and this gift that is helping me achieve my goal. I just need to get more Water in and I think everything will be fine otherwise..I feel great!! Keep up the good work
  5. Good Morning Everyone, I am 4 weeks (26 days) post op..but I have some lingering questions. On my pre-op week before diet...I tolerated the Protein shakes..I guzzled them to get it over with..I lost 7 lbs pre-op..as of last week the scale at Publix showed a total 20 lb weight loss which is awesome for 3 weeks...I don't have a scale at home and satisfied with that since I would drive myself crazy on it everyday. At this juncture of post op..I can pretty much eat anything..have difficulties with eggs but for the most part everything is good..I hear some people have issues with constipation...but as grossly as it sounds I have just the opposite..very watery diarhea. I am not drinking Protein Shakes only because I have tried every flavor and the sweetness makes me gag..I am however, eating broiled fish for Breakfast and a lean cuisine for lunch which gives me almost the recommended daily protein.. and for dinner I can only eat a few bites of something or another...I am trying very hard to get all my Water in, but failing in that area which I knew from the beginning that would be my major challenge. My question is...am I doing ok for the most part or if I don't get all the protein and water in will I be defeating my purpose of the surgery and start gaining weight. Like I said i am not eating much only a small portion of what I used to eat..so chances are I will still lose? Just any input is welcome. Feel free to rag on me for not getting in my water..or anything else deemed necessary. Have a great day

    Right, Wrong...Good, Bad?

Yeah, I went to store and got greek yogurt and also instead of the Cran-Grape juice which has alot of carbs..I got Crystal Light Pink Lemonade which makes it easier to drink with have a pouch. I made homemade turkey meatballs...and instead of lean cuisine I have fish for Breakfast and a turkey meatball for lunch..I am eating sensible for dinner..but did a really stupid stupid thing last night...I ate chicken for dinner..just a little bit..but was craving a sip of milk...1 sip turned to 2...and afterwards...i headed for the sink..it came back up....stupid i tell ya. I am trying to get back on track..getting all my Protein..and the right amount of carbs now...working on my fluids and I should be good to go..I'm apparently on that dreaded Stall phase..Stepped on Publix scale last night and it hasn't moved..still only at a 20 lb weight loss.

    Right, Wrong...Good, Bad?

I just spoke to my NUT and she told me to get some Pro-Biotic, and try very hard to get more Water in my system..it's possible I am still substituting food for liquid and then again it could be what you said..it's a way my body rejects a certain food rather than the normal up-chuck version. Again, I feel great...just need to get my Protein in and most importantly the water....I know what I need to do...it's the "doing" part that is the challenge to overcome. Thank you all for listening.

    Started purée diet today. Help!

I'm on puree/mushy as well I can't seem to eat eggs or tiny tiny cut up chicken...but refried beans with cheese is my freind..thats about all i can tolorate...going to try my luck on mushed up fish tonight.
  9. Well, I don't think anything is stuck, I didn't eat that much at all, maybe a bite or two...but right after, I used the restroom and it seemed to be coming right out (TMI) I know it was a burp trying come out..because as soon as I was able to get the burp out I was right as rain. I know I shouldn't have tried to eat anything..but for the most part it was mushy..I didn't eat anything that wouldn't be on my next phase..I just phased up before my time I guess. the paperwork Dr. gave to me said progress to the next phase when you think you are ready...so that's what I did. I am back on Protein drinks and feel perfectly fine...again..not getting in the Water I should...I knew that would be my challenge since pre-op I was never a Fluid drinker...I had to force fluids down...But now I am aware of my challenge time to get off the soap box and just do it!!
  10. I'm in a bad way...and need help. Just had surgery on the 24th and a couple days after I was fine with just Water..couldn't really eat....but after about 4 or so days I was starving...so I tried my luck on soft scrambled eggs...I could tolerate 2-3 little bits and then get a sharp pain in my stomach which caused me to stop..but I noticed the sharp pain was a big burp trying to come out..but wouldn't...I tried a bite of cottage cheese same thing....I even stuck a small piece of chick in my mouth chewed it up really good..but another burping pain....I'm not getting my water in either. My NUT called to see how I was doing and I told her good and she said to make sure I don't eat any foods yet as the food will cause a leak...well I immediately stopped and on Protein drinks again..only able to drink 2 Protein shakes a day...they are way too sweet and making me gag...still not getting all my water in ...today marks the 9th day and I don't feel as if I have lost anything at all...physically I am feeling fine...but mentally I am miserable....I don't know what to do. I go back to work tomorrow..perhaps getting back to the swing of things might help...but otherwise...
  11. Good Morning Everyone, I have a pre-op question, I have been on pre-op for 7 days now, sticking faithfully to the Protein shakes, Water (almost) and my sugar free pudding/ popsicles and broth, I haven't lost not one pound. I don't get it, when I ate what I wanted...I didn't gain (eventually it caught up "Obviously")..but I didn't lose either..so what gives here? I'm Concerned....Surgery is Monday!

    Soft foods stage, noodles OK?

Ok, I have a great chicken Soup Recipe if anyone interested: Boil or bake some chicken breast and cut in small pieces Put in pot with cut up: Onions, zuchini, yellow squash, cabbage and 1 raw jalepeno for flavor Pour in sodium free chicken broth and simmer until done. It's amazing...I eat it with tortillas..but since they are no longer on the menu...I think there is another kind of tortilla you can use..not sure..but with or without..the soup is great!! Oh, and I usually make a big pot and put in small containers...it freezes wonderfully!!

    Caffeine

I quit Smoking and Caffeine, but Iove my coffee in the morning so I went to decaf with sugar free hazelnut creamer...still has carbs..but for a teaspoon of it...falls within my required daily intake...although my surgery isn't until Monday 11/24...I am preparing. On the 10 day pre-op diet right now...getting my Protein shakes, Water and good ole chicken broth..and of course my 1 cup of coffee...
  14. What am I doing? I am 2 days into my pre-op diet for surgery on the 24th and I am looking up recipes for foods I like and pretty much staring at food on the internet...I am hungry..but for the most part doing ok. For some reason I am very tired.....I have been going to bed around 6 pm for the last 3 days...not sure whats going on. I am sure I will be exhausted after surgery too...but it will be worth it. I hope

    Going back to work

Bills, Bills, Bills...come every month like clockwork....wonder if we can tell them.."look, I just had surgery...and my doctor won't let me back to work yet...so your just gonna have to give me freebies this month" Like THAT will ever happen...and if you do take off...bills get behind..and ya NEVER get caught up..I hate that feeling. So, only recourse is...I will go back after 9 days and when asked to do something....learn the word "I'm super busy, can you ask someone else.....wait...no one smart enough in my office to handle it....geeesh!! Losing battle here!!

    What am I doing?

@@finediva Your right, I am probably going to bed so I don't have to think about food....but ironically as I said in my initial post...I am actually exhausted. My primary put me on Celexa for the anxiety and Medformin for diabetes...it's only 2nd week into the meds, perhaps it's early side affects of introducing these meds to my system. Time will tell, thank you all for your responses.

@@Elode @JustWatchMe..............Yes, my silly self almost felt a drool coming on when I was looking up the recipe for "Stevie Tomatoes" Portabella Mushroom Bake....oh my lord!! It is a trigger...why does temptation have to be involved..it's none of temptations business I am getting my hair and feet done before surgery...so that should make me feel better..I hope

  19. 24th here too, started my pre-op mess...trying to force the Water..it's hard...I've had 2 cups decaf coffee, 1 Protein shake, 1 sugar free pudding and just starting my 3rd (16.9 oz) bottle of water...it's 5:16 pm I'm going to sip beef broth and water the rest of the night and if I am still hungry..have a sugar free popsicle...I have a headache..but I am sure that will pass in a couple of days. I can do this...I can do this...I can do this...I can do this

question for the single and dating

You didn't mention how long you had been seeing this gent, although IMO you should be taking this time to get to know one another...the first few months are the "awe" months and sometimes faults cannot be seen...If in fact it has only been a few months..than I don't think bringing up the "talk" is advisable...your asking a man you happen to click with to commit to you or wanting him to tell you where you stand in his life. I think that taking one day at a time is your best option right now, which is what you are doing...so without sounding crass...don't push the envelope and let it be what it is. Men or should I say MOST men are scared to death of the "talk" and commitment...so if things are going very good right now...why would you want to throw a wrench in the mix where is doesn't belong. As for dating others, you have to follow your heart...if your a one man woman (like myself)..than stay a one man woman...but that is not your current bo's business what you do on your time when your not with him...if he thinks your dating others than it might give him the sense your not into him. On the other hand...if this cat is really interested in you..he will approach you and ask you to see him exclusively.....but just remember...what your doing behind closed doors without him...what is he doing!! Just take it day by day..if you want to date someone else..than the "wanting" is there, do it!! If it's meant to be...it will happen on it's own without the "talk"
  24. OH MY!! <---that about sums it up!!
