    please tell me the truth

I have a huge weakness for pizza its a big thing for me as well. I did have the toppong off one medium slice not long ago...im 2 mos post op. I also eat the weigh watcher smart ones thin crust onky maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of it. Theyre very small but helps the craving of it... i kind of want to not eat it much tho because old habits die hard and id just prefer stay away from the eal deal as much as possible lol

Am I selfish for wanting bypass?

The sleeve can still give u acid reflux issues and the bypass usually doesnt... i do not think u are selfish at all.. u and only u know what u want and need .. i too wanted bypass as i have diabetes and wantes to ensure eating sweets would make me sick so i would stay away from them more and. I have already made the mistake of having a wls i was unsure about when i had the lapband 9 years back. My reflux worsened and i did lose but couldnt get fills any longer due to the reflux complications.. eneded up having gastric bypass on july 29th and so far 44 lbs. Plus my diabetes is under control and i feel womderful. You do what is best for you!!

    Miserable!

The more u walk the better u will feel. I had alot of pain too but it passed after a few days. Just keep sipping and walking and things will get better i promise
  7. Thats awesome!!! U look fabulous
  8. Aww yall are all so kind. Thank u all
  9. Thank u wallflower. I believe that is true because everyone else sees it drastically and i just see it a little. I hit my 40 lb loss on the scales this morning was a big yay for me!! U have done fabulous girl!! That before and after pic is amazing transformation!! Woohoo! I cannot wait to be in ONEDERLAND! lol i actually had lapband 8 years ago and lost 100 lbs. Had it removed about 6 months ago due to the fact i had so much reflux issues that for 3 years i was basically deflated and it wasnt a tool for me anylonger. I gained 20 of that 100 back. So if i was to count all that loss id be at about 120 lbs lost too. But im basically just counting what ive lost w this whole gastric bypass... i still have about 120 to lose. But ur photo is inspiring to me. Thank u
  10. Thank u. Im so excited for this journey... i have questions pop up from time to time but usually find the answers here from somwone else asking similar stuff but thank u so much
  11. Im onky 5 weeks post op and have lost 38 lbs so these are not a huge drastic change yet. But definitely starting to see the differences

    Sense of smell got stronger!

I wondered if it was just me but i see its not. My sense of smell is way stronger than it ever was... and my tastes have changed as well. Ate some squished up baby carrots and loved them and i used to hate carrots. Also tasted fish and didnt gag and used to i gagged everytime lol

    How can you tell

I just use protein powder to make me shakes. Have never been one to puree meats etc... i use bariatric advantage protein powder and use 2 scoops per shake which gives me 27 g of protein in 1 shake. So i only need 2 then maybe a yogurt to hit 60 a day. Also sometimes i add a teaspoon of fat free peanut butter to the shake for that lil extra protein. Chocolate peanut butter shskes are good i also use premier protein already made shakes they have 30g a shake and taste pretty good for that much protein.

    How can you tell

Im 5 weeks post op.. and had some issues so was on full liquids up until a week ago... im now on mushy foods and still havent had the feeling of hunger... i eat because i know i need to. Though my mind says im hubgry my stomach does not. I just try to focus on getting my protein and liquids and vitamins in and and have maybe 1/4 cup or less of food for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is still a protein shake and sometimes dineer is aswell .. i have ate one bute too many and it is painful and no fun. Im learning to know when to stop...

    APPROVED!

Congrats. Im about 5 weeks post op. And am still so happy i made this choice
  18. Im 6 weeks post op and had some issues with a stricture and an ulcer so i just now a week ago got to progress to soft mushy food stage... i was on full loquids about 7 weeks if u count the 2 pre op liquids i had to do. Ok so now that i started mushies/soft foods i havent lost 1 lb in a week. Ive lost 36 total in 6 weels but that includes the 2 week preop diet loss as well. I am getting all my protein and all my fluids and basically doing everything by the book and have began to add more exercise into the mix. I figured id really start dropping more after that but instead um stuck. Its very frustrating. So how often should i weigh?? so that i dont panic like this after only a week.. just ready for it to start coming off again. Anyone else experience this so early on? Ive heard of stalls later on but im only a lil over a month out of surgery....
  19. melimo1002

    stall? so early?

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Sat in a booth at resteraunt with no problem. Can cross my legs now yay! My charm bracelet is starting to be too big and i will have to have links taken out of it soon. Im early out of surgery 5 weeks so ive only had a few Nsv's. Cannot wait for more!!
  21. I too had a stricture on week 3 postop. For one week i could barely even drink anything. I dehydrated twice landing me in the ER. Always asking if was a stricture. The nausea was almost unbearable and the painid feel for hours after vommitting was so bad!! Finally they got me in to endoscopy and i had a stricture as well as an ulcer. I have to repeat the endoscopy on sept 16th and im on nexium powder i mix with water 2x a day. Ive not had anymore issues since.. and hoping after they dilate me again i will feel even better. Wishing you well with your recovery and hoping no more complications for u. Ik that it stinks going thru all that...

    Any Born Again Christians?

I am christian and prayed alot about my surgery. In fact i asked Gods hand to be in it the whole way. I believe He is the reason i was allowed to have this surgery and ive had peace about it through the whole process. I feel blessed He has given me the chance to become healthy and yes i have had to lean on Him throughout the struggles through a stricture and 7 weeks of liquids. I do not know how i would have done had i not had His strength.

    Calicum citrate

I love the bariatric advantage caramel chews.. they are like my candy 2 x a day lol
  25. My husband was with me the whole way but after the first day of soreness i really didnt need much help.. the company and someone to talk to and also someone to lift the trash and take it out was nice since there are lifting restrictions. If you dont have any complications i think you will do fine, but a week of mom would probably be nice since the first week is when you are weak and adjusting.
