Welcome Grandma9. I have twins myself, 31 YO boy & girl with 6 grandchildren. My youngest is 9 YO so not much running after them anymore. We do milder games like Monopoly. I am getting banded tomorrow and hope I am as successful as SOOO many have been here. Everyone has been so supportive as I just joined the sight after viewing for MANY months. It really puts a good perspectve on how so many have handled it in so many different ways but so many common also. Thanks for sharing your story.

Question: Liquid Diet Before Surgery
2aslimmerme replied to NJChick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes I am on one and have been for 2 weeks. My surgery is tomorrow. I agree with Kim, easier at work than home and on weekends. I did use spoon for broth and soup so felt like I was "eating". I think it is helping me prepare for post op diet. 2 more weeks of liquids, then slush and mush--can't wait!! Good luck on your journey. -
Here I Go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is my day also and feel anxious and excited both. From all I've read here and having 2 friends who went thru it , I know I can also and will be happier. I keep thinking I will eat again. I have been on liquids for 2 weeks already. Keep us posted as to how it goes for you. Sounds like gas is biggest problem we will face. GOOD LUCK!! -
Micki, I am having surgery on 27th also and am anxious and excited at same time. What helps me is knowing I WILL eat again and it will be much less but still satisfying. Agreeing with Jack, smaller binges. I have been on liquids for 10 days and have slipped once with handful of pretzel stix and another time some of small noodles of noodle Soup and with cheezits.. But feel overall I have done well. Nothing is 100% but we are sooo much closer to where we want to be going. Keep up the positive thoughts and come here often to be encouraged. I will look for our AFTER posts!! Bonnie

I am on liquids(Crystal light, Slimfast or Boost for protein shakes, these are my choices, water), yogurt, sugerfree popsicles and fudgsicles, broth or tomato soup for 14 days before surgery. I started Thursday and today am experiencing the most hunger but have not cheated. My date is 7-27-05. I am to do 2 protein shakes 3X a day but have not had all that daily. Maybe I need to start doing that. I am doing OK as I know I will be healthier down the road and that is what keeps me going.PLUS all the support and info on this site. It won't be bad if this is what you want. It definitely is different for me but I want to succeed SOOO much. Keep up the good work everyone.

Thanks for the welcome Mousecrazy. I have not figured out how to start a new thread, help. I wondered if anyone had experienced fingers going numb before surgery, just from being over weight? I have noticed this the last few months it has started. I am 3 days into liquid pre op diet, doing OK.
