What will I need as for protein etc.

The isopure water I prefer Melon/Apple least favorite Pineapple and Orange. The GNC protein powder I like chocolate and when they allow soft food you can add 1 tsp peanut butter to the shake...Yumm. As for fiber I didn't take any. Your liquid diet will move through on its own. Don't expect a regular bowel movement. Your not constipated your just haven't eaten enough to make a t**d!...lol

What will I need as for protein etc.

GNC Isopure Water - 40grm/20oz Protein GNC Protein 1 scoop mixed in 4 oz/water - 24Grm protein As for your Soups and other liquids - don't over buy, you will feel like getting out in a couple days (well I did). Remember you will be eating ounces not cans. I am 57 days out from surgery and still barely eat over 1/4 cup of anything. I throw away more food than I eat. Still learning to cook for 1/4 of a person...lol Good Luck

    Boobs & Butt

Can't swear this time (post sleeve) but about 7 years ago I lost 92 lbs, just diet and exercise (of course I gain every pd back) when I lost then I went from a 42F to a 38 F and from a size 24 to a size 13. This time seems to be different when it comes to the butt. I'm down 51 pds, my butt has left the pants and the building. the boobs still remain, i'll let you know in another 50 lbs.
  4. If you are planning pregnancy - I would wait till after having all the kids. I would hate to waste money for surgery only to have a tummy tuck wrecked by baby belly. I know I only gained 16 pd with my child, but the stretch marks was like a road map.
  5. I hope what ever is decided is the best for you. I had horrible heart burn and Gerd before the sleeve surgery (even to the point of having a chronic cough from it), I was on Rantidine and it didn't work without the help of tums and gaviscon. After the surgery and up to day 57 (today) I have not had one problem with heartburn. No waking up at night in mid vomiting of fire. They do have me on protonics since surgery for the healing effect (was on it prior and it did not control the heartburn). In my past when I lost weight the heartburn went away, so I am thinking the pounds shed has fixed the heartburn/Gerd. I hope you can get some relief and some answers.

    Scary Skinny

I am down 50 pds since January - 35 since surgery 07/19.. A girl at work asked me if I had been sick, like with cancer. I nearly fell out. One girl told me loosing weight a lot of times makes you look older, then followed it with you sure lost a lot. I told her yes fat people make pretty corpse. Haters going to hate....
  7. I used ISOpure zero carb waters from GNC - there is 40 grms in 20 oz. Also whey protein from GNC - 1 scoop in 1/2 cup water or skim milk - 24 grms protein
  8. When I had my pschy apt, that was my biggest fears. I was scared I would fail, I had failed at keeping the weight off/losing and weigh management, so why would this be different. I still fear that. That is why I made so many changes. I am learning to cook low fat, my exercise is like a heart pill (you wouldn't skip a heart medication). Everything changed but yes the fear is still there.
  9. Try not drinking with or within thirty mins before or after your meals. Prior to surgery my physician said to start eating that way. The fluids before/during and after promote flushing of foods through your stomach allowing more food to be consumed. I started prior to surgery eating that way and lost 15 pd. You fill up with a lot less food and stay full a lot longer.

    6 week Post Op

Week 5 and Week 6 I lost just a few pds total for two weeks... Your body is restoring its glycogen/glycerin (not sure which it is) stores from being on liquids (information was found on internet). I am 4 days from 2 months, my weight loss is back up to about 1 pd every two days.
  11. I am 4 days from being 2 mths post op. Basically I eat what ever I want - the thicker the food the less I eat. Yogurt - about 4 oz... Fish about 2 oz and a little less than one egg. On the average between 1/4 and 1/2 cup is max.
  12. For some reason this week has been amazing.. About 1 pd every two days.... I love my new life.

  14. For the first time in years, I can wash, dry and put on clothes without that fear of will they fit this morning. Yes they are still big clothes but that fear is gone. Tomorrow I will not be bigger than I am today... Thank you God and Dr. Woodman

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

My doctor didn't advise much against carbs, but did warn against fat grams. If your able to eat soft meats maybe a couple pieces of shrimp or a nice moist piece of fish might save some fat grams.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

I was sleeved on July 19, I am about 28 pds down since surgery date. I had a two week stall where no movement was detected on the scale. Now I am loosing about 1 pd per three days. I would say your doing well.

    The Waiting Game

I had a three month supervised diet requirement before my paperwork could even be submitted. January 30 was my start date - diet, pschy, nutritionist and md apts. I was approved and surgery done on July 19. I understand the stress of waiting. The best advise I can give you is start changing what your doc wants you to change. I started not drinking when eating, less than 10 grms of fat per meal (20 per day) and exercising. I am glad I had the time to make some changes. I hope your approval is soon. the surgery was the best thing that has every happened in my life.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

I was sleeved July 19, I still have times when two bites and I am done. Sometimes it feels like pressure. I find it easier when I measure most of my food (doctor suggested diet proportions for post sleeve. The diet is broken down by weeks. So for meat portion about 1/4 cup, veg 1/2 cup, starch 1/4 cup, dairy milk liquid 1/2 cup, milk thicker (yogurt) about 3 oz. The book shows multiple portions eaten together by this time but I still can only eat one suggestion per meal. I am still eating 6 times per day.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Canker sores and ulcers in the mouth can be caused from bacteria changes from diet change. I would when possible seek out active culture yogurts. Activa or any that say Active bacteria culture

    B - Belly

My roll over the waste left (I never had it) up to the last 2 years, my done lap (dunlap) on the lower stomach above the pubic area is just squishier and less full of fat. I have had the lower dunlap since after my daughter was born. About 5 years ago I had lost about 92 pds, the lower dunlap and all the thigh skin did not go away. Since I have a less chance of regaining weight (post sleeve) when I reach my goal weight I will probably be looking at surgery for belly and thighs. Of course I am almost 50 everyone's skin especially younger skin snaps back differently

Question: Has anyone heard if post surgery that kidney stones are a potential problem. My doctor me that many post surgery patients have gallbladder trouble from the very fast weight loss, but never mentioned kidney stones. I am having like pain in mid back going through toward bladder. Never had a stone before so I can't swear this is what it is but uncomfortable enough to stop the exercise tonight.

    TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!

I was the same way. I have always been able to loose weight just could not keep it off; and with every pound I regained usually came another half with it. I chose not to tell people just didn't want to listen to there comments...lol. As for eating after the surgery, my pallet has completely changed so much it is not funny. The actual smell of something frying kind of nauseates me, and food that was my downfall (chips and such) I pass by with ease. For my pureed diet I made tuna salad and chicken salad (ranch) put it through the food processor (use fat free mayo)and mustard for moisture. It does not change the taste at all. Also you can puree cooked chicken breast and add them to cream of chicken Soup, it just makes it thicker. Best wishes to you and hoping your surgery goes well.

Just keep doing what your doctor has told you. This journey is a marathon not a sprint race. I watch other peoples tickers also and compare. I was stuck up till yesterday for about a week at the same weight. Remember we are all different, age, medical conditions, and medications. Each one of these factors play into the weight loss. Just keep on keeping on, you will do great.
