;) I have been heavy most of my adult life. I started off thinner and hovered anywhere between 109-120 mostly due to my chain smoking and drinking only diet pepsi most of my day. It wasn’t I hit the late 90’s while I was going through a divorce that I started packing on the weight as a way I think to cope with all the changes in my life. I’d been with the same man since I was 17 and now I was 37 with 3 kids my son was nearly 18, my oldest daughter 17 and my youngest daughter 14. I had never ever been on my own so I think I ate for comfort.
It wasn’t until 2006 that I decided I needed help that if I didn’t I would continue to gain weight as the pain of past wounds and current self-loathing were driving me fast to an even heavier future.
I got the Gastric Band 2006 and started losing weight slowly but surely my start weight was 256lbs on a 5’1†frame. NOT GOOD. After a couple months my band starting not working correctly, it was either too tight where I threw up everything or too lose where I had no restriction at all. The truth too was that my mind was not aligned with my goal and I did not work the program in the most effective way. Needless to say I gained back the weight I initially lost which turned out to be 90 or so lbs.
In 2013 I my friend Sharon at work told me about a guy at Quinoz who had this new surgery called Gastric Sleeve and he lost an enormous amount of weight. So after being miserable and slippage from my band which caused more issues I decided on seeking the “Sleeveâ€
This time I did my homework and my mind was and is set on the success of this program and this tool I was blessed enough to get approved for. The sleeve has been AMAZING to say the least! Since day 1 after surgery it’s been a miracle!
I’m down 56 lbs from when I started all this and on my way to goal! I swim/aerobics 5-6 days a week at Nautilus in OR at 45-60 minutes a day. I LOVE IT. It is a SLOW process but its steady.
Pictures to come. Thank you
