Hi Everyone..
Where to begin,. I am 35 yrs old, and live in AB canada. I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I have done every diet known to man, been to the gym, even became anorexic in my teens.. I was able to maintain the loss for a couple years at that point, but around 10 yrs or so, the weight started to pack back on and there wasn't anything I did that helped. I was finally diagnosed with pcos. 2 or 3 yrs ago, I started researching about bariatric surgery. Knowing that this was what I wanted.. *Gastric Sleeve* I was highly reccommended by my family doctor at the time for this. Went to all the recommended classes, doc appoint, nut appoint etc. Only to be told I won't be covered as I am not diabetic. IF I became diabetic, I could give them a call and possibly be acccepted for it to be covered. But was told that can be a 5 yr or longer wait..
My husband and myself, have adopted 2 boys. The oldest is 11 and our youngest is 4. I need this for not only myself, but to be around for my family. they finally have the whole family, they never had before.
I am currently trying to fund-raise to cover the cost of the procedure.
