This is my first visit to this site and wish I would have looked for it earlier. I just found my surgeon on FB and his site lead me here. I had gastric sleeve surgery in May 2012. I moved to the Bahamas in August of that year and was unable to continue follow up visits with my surgeon. So, I have kinda been on my own and have missed talking with those with similar experiences. I am so glad I have found this space!!! My highest weight was 300! I almost had a stroke the day I saw that on the scale at my primary care physician's office!! My insurance required a 6 month program that helped me loose before the surgery. My goal is 150 and the other day I was 169. I am one week out from a total hip replacement and have to wait for a while to get back to my exercise but so glad I finally started taking care of me!! I look forward to being apart of this group and learning new recipes, exercises and just ways to be healthy! Thanks! I added a before and after pic in a thread of that name. I have been in a lot of pain with the hip before now, but I feel that once I get this new hip healed up properly I may be able to actually walk for exercise!!! Before the hip replacement the only real exercising I did was "jog" in my swimming pool!! I look forward to sharing the rest of my journey!
