I am 31 year old incredibly over weight woman. I have arthiritis in my knees and I am displaying symptoms of sleep apnoea and pre diabetes.

I have considered this surgery many many times but had decided not to go ahead as I never had the money. This year the NHS suggested I have the surgery through them for free, but then denied me at the last minute through a technicality. Thankfully arounf this same time some family money became available and as such I have decided to self fund and go ahead with having the surgery privately.

I am very overweight, and am the only member of my family or friends that is such. I am generally pretty body positive but I have incredibly low self esteem and have suffered extreme depression for years. Hopefully this surgery will allow me to be more confident and active and improve my general health.
