At age 59 when I was told I was pre diabetic that was the trigger for me. I have been overweight for 20 years and the thought of diabetes just scared me. I'm very excited about the new banding and have done very well thus far. I have lost 22 pounds at this point and hope to lose about 100 total. I want to live a healthier life. I want to be able to play with my grandchildren, if I ever have any. I want to be able to bend over and tie my shoes without my fat belly cutting off my wind. The hard part about this decision for me was would I have the strength to make the life style changes necessary to be successful with a lap band. I will take this journey one day at a time and with support from family and friends it will be successful.
