I am starting to dislike Fat People....
MBM1Forever replied to Joebravo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think what I hate more is not the fat people, but the whole way we have all gotten here. Some due to our government touting low fat, low carb, no this, more of that etc. I wonder if we just ate when we were hungry the food we know we need as fuel, if we would be in the same boat. It seems to me that the closer we eat to the source of the food the better, as in non processed. I hate the food pyramid! -
Should or shouldn't. Is it worth it?
MBM1Forever replied to tattooedmum72's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
While I am not the poster girl for WLS, I can say that overall I am glad that I have it. At only two months out, I am starting to feel like a normal person again on most days. Some of the early days were pretty hard and I wondered if this was worth it for sure. On other days, I wonder if it worked because they go easily. It is a crap shoot on if a person will have complications. -
Question for the slow losers
MBM1Forever replied to AuriP's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I gave up with tracking my intake of Protein etc. It was a lot of stress for me, so I just eat using the guidelines of protein first, veg second and starch if room. I don't know if it is the right way to go, but for me, it is. I don't supplement with shakes. I just eat when hungry which is around three times a day. -
chicken is my nemesis. I throw that up more than anything and it doesn't seem to matter how much I chew. Think about it like this...we have been eating the way we did for how many years? To think we won't make a mistake and eat too much too fast isn't realistic. It will take awhile to become accustomed to the change.

Starting out at age 45? How common?

STILL STALLED. help :(
MBM1Forever replied to berkeleycurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Think about how much weight you have lost. Amazing results. It isn't too surprising that the body needs time to recalculate in order to start losing again. I have to admit that I did the same as y'all. I stalled at 3 weeks and thought I had some sort of problem because it lasted well over two weeks. I could not believe it. Now, at two months out, I have lost a total of 50 lbs. That is really amazing. -
The invention that could end obesity?

It is frustrating for sure. So, where is the rapid weight loss? I guess 3 or 4 lbs a week is rapid? -
Weight Loss at a Crawl and I'm Worried
MBM1Forever replied to mnmlst's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I used to be frustrated with the loss and the slowness of such. I decided that I just need to be ok with how it goes because it is what it is. -
Fat People programs
MBM1Forever replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have watched most of the 600lb life shows as well as big fat fabulous. I like them both. They remind me where I came from and have shed some light on my own journey, which may be the intent of the shows. I did find the show last night really difficult to watch. The woman was using her grown son as her personal valet. He looked miserable and sad. She was mostly delusional in regards to her goals. That one gave me zero insight. -
I take Biotin in the hopes of avoiding a big loss. I am only 6 weeks out, so none for me at this time!

“The Biggest Loser:” Irresponsible Weight Loss Surgery Comments?
MBM1Forever replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
In the end, I just can't care too much about the opinion others have about WLS. I have told anyone who asks me and have no shame about it. I know inside what this process is like and how hard it really is and that is good enough for me. It has been the one tool that I have been able to use that has made a difference in my health and in my long term future. I don't doubt that given enough time and money any one of us could lose the weight as seen on the the biggest loser. But then, who has that kind of time or money? I know that I don't and I also know that I could not wait for my life to pass me by. I had to act upon my behalf. I don't see anyone else stepping up to take that place for me? -
Poll: Would you have surgery again if you............
MBM1Forever replied to lovedXJesus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Still too new in the game to say, but I don't think I would without the weight loss. -
is this the right choice
MBM1Forever replied to kashy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It really is a hard decision. My insurance only does the RNY so I didn't have to make that one. I just needed to choose to have the surgery. -
Poll: Would you have surgery again if you............
MBM1Forever replied to lovedXJesus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope. I would not have done this if it were not for the weight loss. The clincher for me is that this tool will help me keep it off. I could lose the weight but not keep it off. -
I am so cold all of the time!

Like clock work....
MBM1Forever replied to MisforMimi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have only lost 2 pounds in the last two weeks, which were week 3 and 4. Still not moving and I think I have become a victim of the scale! I am obsessed with it. I have lost 40 lbs total with before surgery loss, but oddly it isn't enough! -
There is absolutely nothing easy about this!

So, for all of us who are nearing our January surgery dates, what are your worries? What is your excitement?
-
I feel like I can't get timing or quantity right. I always feel like I ate too much and too fast no matter how slow I go! Sigh....
-
I FINALLY got a surgery date today for January the 8th. I am pretty excited about that. Anyone else with a January surgery?
