I hope all is going well with you since your banding. I live 4 hours away from Bend, so I was looking for some online support from others who have been banded in Bend. Best wishes.
  5. I just had my second fill last week and ever since, it feels like I have something stuck at the back of my throat. I have not eaten a normal meal since my fill. Whenever I try to eat anything other than Protein shakes and liquids, I throw up (Not fun). Anyway, should I get with my doctor to get an unfill or is there something else wrong?:smile2: Any advise would be greatly appreciated. My doctor is a 4 hour drive away, so I am a bit concerned. Thanks all!

    Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!

I am 40 (will turn 41 in March) and I was banded in November of 2007. I have lost 40 lbs so far and had my first fill on the 3rd of January. My next appointment in the 31st of January...looking forward to it to find out what is next for me! I am unsure how I feel about being 40, and I just found out that I am going to be a grandma! :wink2: I am too young to be a grandma, but......life it what it is! Best of luck to all, this forum is really helpful to me. I live in a rural area and it is nice to have others to communicate with about things! Also, would someone who is more technological than me give me specific directions on how to add the BMI ticker to my message. I think they are great and I would like to chart my progress! Thanks in advance!

    Sick since 1st fill

I had my first fill on 1/3/2008 (2cc's) and I have not been able to eat anything that I was eating before. I am back to protein shakes and not much else. I can eat jello and pudding, but nothing else. Has anyone else experienced this also?? I am really tired and feel kind of "out of it". But I am forcing myself to drink the shake because I am not hungry at all, but I need the protein. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.:sick
  8. I recently had my surgery (Nov. 29th) and I took a full week off of work. Just remember, everyone is different. I healed quite quickly and could have gone back a few days earlier, but I had a one week post-op appointment and it is a 4 hour drive for me to get to my surgeons office, so I just took the entire week.

    New Member - Banded 11/30

Hello. I was banded on 11/29. I took a week off of work afterward. I was tired, but it is a 5 hour drive to the city where I was banded and I had a follow-up appointment one week after surgery, sooooooo, two days of that time off were driving back and forth to Bend. Anyway, I have been back to work for a week now. I get tired very easily and do not have a lot of energy once I get home, but I keep reminding myself to take it one day at a time. :scared: My incision site is still tender and I keep bumping it on my desk. (OUCH!!) I started pureed foods a couple of days ago and that made a big difference. I could use some ideas on pureed foods that are good sources of protein. I am still on my "formula" everyday, but I would like some good, tasty ideas for protein that are pureed. :bandit Also, how do you all get those cool little tickers on the bottom of your postings? What a neat way to chart your progress!!!!! THanks for your help!!
  15. Hello. This website is a godsend!!! I get so much support and assistance every time that I visit. I am 2 weeks post op and my incision site is still sore. I have a desk job and I keep hitting by incision on my desk. Is this normal??? :scared:
