  1. (Also posted in gastric sleeve main forum) I was waiting on ultrasound results to check a lump on my stomach and also check my gallbladder before booking my sleeve surgery. I got my results and while my gallbladder looks ok (two immobile stones)...I do have an umbilical hernia. Actually 2 of them...One bigger and one small right beside each other. Now my problem seems to be that the surgeon in Mexico that I was considering only does Hiatial hernias....not umbilical hernias. So now I'm on the hunt again to find a surgeon in Mexico that will do both at once. My health care in Canada would cover the hernia surgery but I really don't want two separate surgeries and recovery times. Has anyone here been to Mexico and had an umbilical surgery fixed at the same time. If you did....which surgeon was it? Thanks

  3. Hi there. This is my first post of probably many more to come. My question is...I have sleep apnea and have to use a CPAP machine because it is bad. I'm a truck driver and am also required to use it to keep my license. I was reading somewhere that patients are not allowed to use CPAP machines after surgery. Just wondering if that was true for everyone? Or if I misunderstood when I read that? Thanks

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery

That would be a great benefit as well. Right now I'm on 2000mg of Metformin extended release and Diamicron (makes me stimulate insulin production). That along with 2 different BP meds is what made me decide on surgery. Can't live with taking all these meds for the rest of my life. I hope I can see the benefits you have seen.

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery

Yes I would definitely need another study. I guess why they were saying "no cpap after surgery" was due to it possibly pushing air into the smaller stomach and putting pressure on the staple line and possibly creating a leak. But that might be only a couple doctors because from what people are saying...they took theirs with them to the hospital for after surgery

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery

That's what I'm hoping...be able to lose enough weight that I don't need it anymore. I found it odd that I've read and was told by a coordinator that I could t use it. She said it is possible that it could push air into the stomach and cause issues with the staple line

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery

I haven't decided on a surgeon yet but it's definitely something I will need to bring up. I have tried the odd time (when I had no choice) to sleep without it and it was the worst sleep ever.
