Five Year Anniversary Today
motherof5 replied to Brian66's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats you guys! @@Brian66, II have been reflecting on my sugar habits too. Its time to get back on track. I haven't even met my goal weight yet. It is a challenge. -
Thanks for the advise Babb's. I have been struggling with the sweets. My sweet tooth is terrible now. But, I will find healthier alternatives. I told my nutritionist that I was using date paste as a sweetener for my brownies, he suggested that I go cold turkey on the sweets. Smh, I will start with using Stevia instead lol. But, once you go there, you will come back and thata my problem that I see now.

Will I ever be able to have a peanut butter cup after VSG?

I love pnut butter as well. But I usually just do the serving size in my breakfast smoothie. I tend to forget that I consume more now than I did 1-2 months post op. -

In the beginning I had no desire for chocolate what I ever. Now at a yr out, I want chocolate. I do my chocolate protein shakes for breakfast and I make date browies when I have a craving for those. But I am about to switch to stevia for my sweetener. I still have more to lose and like someone mentioned, it had stopped my weight lose. What I am doing to losing inches and basically maintaining. And the taste buds have changed tremendously. I eat more veggies now than I have in the past.I love butternut squash, brussels sprouts, salads, cilantro and sweet potatoes. I love cilantro so much that I am growing some in my herb garden lol. -
Wonderful nsv here. I love to hear about them.I agree with roux2011, it is definitely a mental trip. I am still a for addict. One of my nsv is getting into a size 14\16 pajama shorts. That's crazy. Sometimes I see body and can't believe it. I still have a few pounds to lose but I am happy with my progress thus far.

All my years of being married to my hubby, I could never ever fit into his clothes. Now, I can fit his tops, pants and jackets. The only thing I cannot fit is his shoes. I am able to cross leg,sit indian style on the floor and able to get offt he floor with one hand only. Theae nsv are the bomb despite the fact that my scale is not budging. I am down from a 3x to XL and some L and loving it. I still have like 40 piunds to lose and I will take it from there.

I totally agree with the stomach issue. I still have a ways to go with lose but the sides of my stomach are smooth. The front sticks out, smh. I use a waist cincher and it helps with the inches on my stomach. -
August post op sleevers: Check in
motherof5 replied to motherof5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would rather snack than eat a meal and I know this sends me in the opposite direction.I decided to add more veggies yo my meals, especially salads. I love salads with a little of this and a little of that. Lately I have been eating trail mix which I know is not the healthiest. I try to stay within the serving size which is 1\4 cup. It is good because I will have it as a topping for my yogurt treat. I am still trying. A work in progress -

I totally feel you. I haven't gained but that scale hasn't moved either. I do notice the inches lost too. On top of that, I am going through a lot of hormonal issues. I just want junk junk junk. Terrible mood swongs and water retention. I feel like a stuffed pig today, smh.I really had to check myself and realize that I have a problem. I feel very disappointed because I went through this surgery only yo mess up. No No No, its still a work in progress for us and just don't give up. Keep bouncing back and move forward. -
Being a sweet tooth queen. I just had to find healthy sweet treats to make for myself.I made froen yogurt with raisins, almonds, and trail mix. I also will add a bit of honey to sweeten it a little. My hardest times is of course when it is PMS time, ugh. It seems that it has gotten worse since this surgery and plus my age too, I believe. I was thinking about getting sf cake mix so that when my family have the real deal, I can enjoy my sf slice. I enjoyed baked apples and baked bananas with my yogurts too. The baked bananas are the bomb! You have to try it.

I felt the same way at six months out. I felt like I needed to eat all the time. I had to discipline myself and start to really watch the time. I also increased my water intake. As others stated above,I try to keep myself busy. I hope it gets better.

Congrats!

Thank you for the advice. My Team said clear Liquid drinks for week 1 and then week 2 to do the protein shake. I can't wait until week two. You are welcome. I noticed that everyone's plan is not the same. They had us on protein drinks and Water right after surgery. -
@@JamieLogical You have Leslie Sansone on youtube. Also Jessica Smith has some awesome cardio videos too. I have knee problems as well so I am always looking for videos that are easy on the knees.

Losing weight from where?
motherof5 replied to 2NewBeginningsxoxo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months post op and only loss 50 pounds as well. I am just a slow loser. I lost my backside and my legs first. Then my face, the hump on the back of my neck and my chin. The stomach is stubborn as all get out! That's my biggest problem. You will notice inches before the movement of the scale most of the times. -
I make my meals separately from my family.my taste buds are different now and they are not interested in the foods I eat. I started freezing my foods and I am guilty of throwing out some foods because I get tired of it. I just make small batches now. I was terrible in the beginning.
