    NSV shout outs

I can comfortably sit in the back seat of a compact car and fasten my seat belt without feeling like I am choking.
  4. You heard it before. Just get back on track. Some people will stick to their plan tooth and nail and others don't. It is a struggle either way. We know what will happen if we take that bite of something bad. Wouldn't it be nice if we continue to eat correctly and see the end results? To see how far we can go? To finally feel good about that person staring at you in the mirror. This is something that I used to tell myself pre-op and just reminded myself of that while typing. Get back on track and stick to the plan. Try to push the fluids and do Proteins first. Eat slowly and don't take that extra bite. I had fried foods a few times. But yet, I still managed to lose weight. It is a constant battle. I am not trying to compete with anyone, not trying to chase the scale, not trying to lose that 50 pounds that my NP wants me to lose in 4 months. I think she is a little too optimistic. But I will keep trying as long as I have this sleeve. I will continue to push myself to workout. You should too. Just keep trying your best. You are doing good so far and remember where you were before the WLS. You are still in the beginning. Later Losers!

    Yep! Just my luck!

Hopefully your pre-op will be like mine. I was able to eat lean Protein and salad. No toppings, just the salad and lite dressing. I had to do 3 Protein shakes a day and was able to have a fruit. I think you will be okay. I even slipped a few times and in 2 weeks I still lost 10 pounds. Don't be hard on yourself if that happens. HAPPAY HAPPY HAPPY!

August Sleevers, Can You Hear Me?

I hear ya loud and clear! You are doing an awesome job so far. This journey is amazing and it is a mind trip for me. I actually get upset sometimes that I cannot eat large portions. I am becoming a food hoarder. I have freezer bags of leftover food in the freezer. There is one less person eating and that's me. I am afraid to waste good food and in the freezer it goes. My family eat what they want and I just make sure that I can get what I need and want. I can not wait to get to 190! I do have a probelm coordinationg my meds as well. My BP meds will make me sick if I take them on an empty stomach. So, I have to leave enough room or wait like 30 minutes to take them. It is ironic because that was one of my main reasons of the WLS. To get off these dreaded BP meds. I got so tired of taking these meds and they still are here. I schedued an appointment with my PCP to followup with my BP. But I am much happier! I can exercise with my arthritis and it is not an issue. I actually like me! I even asked my hubby to get me a mirror. I never had a mirror in my house other than the bathroom mirror. I still have 81 pounds to go and I know it will take dedication and hard work. I will do my best and I have no regrets at all. Oh, and my hubby told me that I don't snore anymore. Could that mean my sleep apnea is gone? Later August Losers!
  7. My house absolutely love Spectrum Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. I started using that on my tummy and bum to see what happens. I also use pure grape seed oil for my face and it is awesome. I wonder if it will have the same affect? I love the essential oils.
  8. EEk EEk EEK EEK! ATTACK OF THE KILLER PIZZA!!! lol. I had a dream that I was in the back of the grocery store. The whole back wall was filled with all kinds of pastries and breads you could think of. From the ceiling to the floor it was filled with goodies. It was hard for me to choose and of course I needed a ladder to get the chocolate filled donuts. I dream of food and think about it during the day all the time. SMH. Its a mind trip.

    Zombies in my stomach

yeah, my hubby is joking me now because I east every 2 hours. He says that I really didn't have the surgery. But when you are only eatng 2 tblsps per meal you can do that. And guess what hun, I am going to eat in another 2 hours, lol.I am always burping and have the hiccups too.

    Zombies in my stomach

Mine is like that the first time I drink something in the morning.
  12. I know when I saw my NP the other day, she told me straight up that its a reality that people slip. But the first 6-12 Mk months is the best time to lose the weight. There is no doubt in my mind that I will that taste for a diet drink and get it. I am in stage 4 and can eat whatever I want, which I don't. But that's it, no restrictions now. I have flown the nest and it's up to me to make this happen. Just moderation.

Great story and I totally understand.

    Can I get some feedback!(please)

I am like that with cashews. I love them but I am afraid to bring them in the house. How about eating a cheese stick first and then the portion of almonds.
  16. Horton, I am the same. When I wake up in the morning, I drink the rest of my water. That stomach will have you downstairs eating at 2 am, lol.
  17. Not odd at all. I was a chugger too. But it will hurt in the beginning if you do not sip. At two months out, I still sip but just more often. It's way easier to get 64 ounces in paper day now. Like others stated, I keep water by my bed at night. You can play catch up that way, lol.
  18. I called my insurance twice. The first the rep said there was no paperwork submitted. I called my case manager right after that call. The second time I called them, I got my approval. I knew before my case manager lol. Shut, I never received that approval letter either lol. I totally feel what you guys are going through.

SOME MORE POST OP QUESTIONS. HOW DO YOU COPE?

Hello, now this will be my experience. 1. It was very hard to get the calories in. The main thing was to stay hydrated and try to push the Protein shakes. I had little appetite and had some nausea. Make sure to sip sip and sip. 2. At 2 months out, I can sleep on my tummy. 3. The Protein drinks kept me full and with the nausea, I had no desire to eat. 4.Head hunger to me is when I am looking at. recipe videos and I get hungry. Other than that, its real hunger over here lol. I am set to eat every 2 hours. I stop drinking my Water 10-30 minutes before I eat. 5. My go to foods/liquids are yogurt,Protein Shakes or bars. I am still depending on the protein drinks. There are plenty of people that can help. Keep the questions coming. Later!

    African American Sleevers

Yeah, the greek yogurt is good for us especially the protein count. But the problem lays when they have those delicious varities. Maybe get the regular greek yogurt and add some sugar free chocolate syrup, homemade fruit compote or some sugar free perserves. That will help with less sugar. My NUT suggested that I try to keep lok for things with 5g or less of sugar.

August post op sleevers: Check in

Still losing weight, love handles gone and working on that pouch. Way to go! I went to the doctors yesterday and I am down 8 more pounds since last month! By my BP is still high though. The NP told me that she would like for me to be 50 less by February. Is she nuts? Sweet but nuts! I am not even going to set a goal like that and then be diappointed if I do not meet that goal. She said that this the honemoon phase and the best time to lose the most weight. We will see. It is good to see everyone is heading in the right direction. Later Loser!

    Where are my August Sleevers?

Still here and happy. I was up early this morning doing the Biggest Loser video with Bob Harper on Youtube. It was awesome! the first one is only 16 minutes but it is good. The second one uses weights and I am going to try that one tomorrow morning. I have to be very careful with this arthritis in my knees. I am a bit lazy when it comes to exercising so I decided that I was at least going to do it on the weekends. sometimes the pain in my knees deters me but I have to keep it moving. I am also depending on at least one Protein drink or bar a day. I like the Pure Protein Bars. I have my 2 month check-in on Monday and I hope to be in the 250s and my BP will be low. We are over at the August Post Op board. Later losers!
  23. I will be 2 months out on the 26th. I am allowed to have whole wheats, cream of wheat and oatmeal. I started eating about 1 tblsp of bulgar wheat the other day. I had it the other day with some Peanut Butter and raspberry compote. It was a nice and filling snack. I can also have 3 saltine crackers but I wouldn't do that often personally. I am just sticking to the bulgar, wheat berries and quinoa for now. Really trying to get that Fiber in. Later Loser!
  24. I have a Nutribullet. It had no probelms for me in the puree stage. I absolutely hated the pureed stage, lol. It is awesome for smoothies. I do notice when I make my protein shakes in it, the foam sits on top. I just scrape it off or give it to one of my crumb snatchers.
