motherof5 replied to kajunqty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thx for the link. I am a penny super penny pincher lol. I will have to get a small one for sure. I also saw on Pinterest DIYs on starting a little herb garden using egg shells. How neat is that? -

7 months post op and frustrated
motherof5 replied to DaddyMarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, you did a good job. I know work and family is a lot. I think, even if you were to exercise on the weekends would be a good start. Even if it is just a 30 minute video in the early mornings. Look at how far you have come without exercising. Imagine how much more you can lose if you add the weekend. I have never been a morning person. But in order for me to get it in, I have to wake up at 430 am. Not something I look forward to. sometimes I have to push myself, lol. So, try the weekends if you can. Later loser! -
Do you enjoy cooking still?
motherof5 replied to kajunqty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always enjoyed cooking. But now, I am more interested in flavorful foods. I am looking into growing my only little herb garden. And sometimes foods with a little kick to it. I am also hooked on storage containers and freezer bags. My hubby says that I am food hoarder, so be it. I have containers on the left side of the fridge with homemade sauces and leftovers. I also fell in love with roasted brussel sprouts, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. I like cod too. It is so meaty and I make a cream sauce with spinach, delish! I am always pinning recipes on Pinterest. I am also hooked onthat because it helps me eat slower, lol. -

4grands, you are almost at your goal weight. That is awesome! I actually tried on an XL shirt and I still cannot believe it. Not too long ago I couldn't put one arm in a shirt like that. I am not ready to comfortably wear it yet because of the stomach issue. But I am still excited that I can even wear it if I choose to. I had spanx, I would definitely wear it though. I am very blessed, We are very blessed. Let's keep rocking it out and keep it off August people! Later losers! -
Sugar addict and Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery?
motherof5 replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the beginning I had no cravings for sweets at all. That sugar monster kicked in two weeks. I am 3 months out now. I make sure that I have my Protein drink during the day and it helps a lot. I also keep Protein Bars around too. My sleeve doe snot like artificial sweeteners. I do use pure Amish honey in my homemade granola bars and I am okay with those. I am always looking for healthy sweet Snacks on Pinterest. I have not dared to eat candy bars or other candies. I am too scared. Later losers! -

Very nice lipsticklady. I like that little reward system that you had going on. It is a struggle for us. Like you, I have a house to take care of and it will get hectic if I didn't move. I am thankful for that because it does keep me moving. I can get real comfy on my couch with my phone in my hand viewing Pinterest. I even fell asleep on it before and that never happened before lol.The vets gave some good advice. Thx.

AUGUST 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
motherof5 replied to orlando's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello hello hello. Motherof5 checking in. I am scared as all outback to go and get on the scale tomorrow at my PCP. My doctor will be thrilled that I have lost a good amount off weight since we last saw her. But, I want to be in the 240s so bad. My hubby went to the doctors and he is 236. The last time I weighed myself last month I was 251. I can not even wrap my head around the fact that I almost weigh as much as he does. Anyway, I am going to make sure that I wear light clothing tomorrow. As far as eating, it is going well. I still do one shake during the day to get my Protein up. I do 1/4 cup of protein and 1/4 cup of veggies. I also eat bulgar wheat sometimes. I need to add more fruit to my diet though. I love butternut squash and brussel sprouts now. I know, brussel sprouts are nasty. But, you have to add olive oil and season them and then roast the heck out of them. They are delish. Heck, roast all of your veggies lol. Today I am going to try to roast my own chick peas and season them with some chili powder. I am looking for a BBQ taste here. Exercising. I try to get it in early in the morning. I wake up at 430 and have some of my Protein Shake and I exercise. I like kickboxing videos as long as they are not too hard. There is a 17 minute one that I love love love and I will share the link below. You will do squats and push ups too. I do 2 days on and 1 day off. Unfortunately the weight lose did not combat the arthritis in my knees. So, I need to take a day off. kickboxing video: http://www.jessicasmithtv.com/video_posts/kickboxing-for-weight-loss-15-minute-fat-burning-workout-video/ Feeling great and looking forward to losing more weight in the future. Later Losers and keep up the good work!
