    oh i'm sure of it~
  4. losing it - i've read some of your other threads & going out on a limb, but i'm guessing you have a low BMI? it might take a few fills to get to restriction. i required 8 & 8.5ccs in the 10cc band before i felt the band working (restriction). over time i had gotten tighter and required 3 unfills; right now i'm at 7.2ccs & haven't had an adjustment since aug. some fills take a bit to "kick" in. be patient; make good choices food wise; get your fills as your dr will allow ... it will all fall into place.

same here - i don't take the tree (REAL tree) down till after the first of the yr. we then go re-plant it out back.
  6. egg drop / sweet & sour soup. pureed chilli - tortilla soup.... it gets better!
  7. i had gotten as low at 116lbs when my dr told me i needed to gain weight. i added more nuts & cheese to the diet and took my skim milk to 2%. seems to have done the trick - back to floating around 123-127 which i consider my maintenance.
  8. i like oh juli's bell curve analogy. my surgeon also gave 60-70% EWL to me, and i scoffed. i'm like WHY - at 140lbs, i'm still overweight at barely 5'1. he knew i had every intention of getting to a normal BMI....but that is not the norm he says. most are happy with 50-60% EWL loss and are fine - a lot don't ever plan to exercise or change their eating habits. you make the best of it & work it as how much as you want to. my last visit w/my surgeon he told me i needed to gain weight......i was just coming from a flu bug, but nonetheless .... i winked at him with a "i told you so grin".

    Something to commemorate my decision

i DID do the hair change. cut 13inches off when i hit the 50lb loss mark.....i love it! have always had long wavy hair and i'm enjoying the short sassiness of the hair to go w/the personality...LOL.
  11. say a prayer, hope you have good genes, and exercise. there are no guarantees on the loose skin & how it will look after weight loss - even w/the best prevention. you'll know half way in whether you'll need attention to certain areas in the form of plastic surgery - but i wouldn't worry about any of that while you concentrate on losing as much as possible.

    Something to commemorate my decision

we did get the lapband the same day, just an hr apart. ah so reality is hitting - i didn't have a preop diet & i came out of surgery not hungry for 2 wks. i just had an hr conversation w/the anesthesiologist that he best make sure i wake up. that was my only concern in the whole process. the countdown begins....

i have tried EVERY brand, different ways of making it, add this - that to it, hot and cold and it's the same...yucky. it does stick to your ribs however - and before a session w/my trainer i have been eating it. still don't like it:frown:

    Did I overreact?

like donna - i wonder what conversation you had about porn be it a magazine, video, computer. DH and i are pretty open about the first 2, i think computer pornography can demonstrate other issues - mainly because i see that as something private & individual. the other 2 can be shared. that said, we have no children - so there is no issue of "who" may find "what". overreact - ya, i think you did. more so invading the privacy and then destroying. if it was such a bother, he may have been receptive to an honest discussion about your distaste of the subject. he'll notice it gone, and likely come to the conclusion you destroyed / threw it away......and that might bring up other issues, such as trust. just my 2cents...

  18. my husband is an avid golfer (also banded), think he was out playing the wkends after 6 or 8 wks (not sure). i'll play twilight golf w/him during the summer a few times a wk - only 9 holes in the evening. no issues.

oh DH only wishes!!! LOL. the only one who submits to anyone in our household are the dogs - to me, when they want a scoobie snack. a partnership in marriage should suggest equality in decision making. compromise comes into play when 2 disagree on an issue. i'm glad this "gods rule" works & turns out for the best for you and your family. my hubby wouldn't even try to own the decision making in our house - he preferred when i was the primary bread winner & he could have more time doing his "hairy leg" activities (male only). now it's his turn, balance is a good thing. something for clarification patty? - is marriage only for those that do so under god? or rather the only recognizable ones?
