it's been a bit over a yr. i've gone as low as 116 due to the flu, however my body seems to hover between 123-125 & has since summer. like lapbandtalker - hope to say the same next yr.
-
all the cold / snow talk - i feel a bit guilty complaining about 45 degrees this am.

i love ezekial wraps for sandwiches, the bread is extra hearty. i too need a bit of carbs in the morning - i don't have a set breakfast, i usually eat what i'm in the mood for...which includes some mixture of carbs/dairy/protein. this AM i'm having a glass of skim milk w/slice of toast with half banana & Peanut Butter. that holds me well into lunch time.

starting small is great advice. make small goals & increase your time & length in whatever you choose to do ... and it's best to find something you "sorta enjoy".. in time your want for sleep is replaced w/energy & you'll want to work out....it's 5:30am for me right now, doing coffee before Breakfast & plan on hitting the gym w/in the hr. i know i can't get there any other time today & don't want to miss my workout.....who would have thought that a yr ago. they're are some exercise challenges in this forum - which help accountability & some great support in getting your started.

you would be amazed what comes out of peoples mouths. i haven't attended a support group meeting, but i did have some lady give me grief while getting a fill. i go to a surgical center that does fills and is very methodical and efficient w/their time. if your 20mins late - your appt is canceled. everyone knows that - and sometimes exceptions can be made if they're free, otherwise policy is policy. btw - unfills are walk-in..no one waits for those (had 3 - i know..yikes) when i went in aug to get a fill, i was checking in and this lady was arguing that she needed a fill & could not help being late. she pointed to me and said i had no business getting a fill (was about same weight i am now ' ish) and i should turn over my appt. ok - she got 3 different sides of cybil with looks alone. i told her to worry about her business & stay out of mine. i would not normally have given her 2 seconds - but i was pissed that she was going to decide for me; if i was "worth" getting a fill. there was a thread a while back - the things you hear at the drs office; it's a great read. some crazy's out there... speak for yourself - no one else will & you should not be judged for your hard work, when others want to just bitch & moan..

soups in general will fill me up like any other meal....just made a pot of lentils last night - yum. cereal, however does not satisfy me for very long & it's been a while since i've a bowl.

Healthy choices for the Mushies phase?
luluc replied to jmegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you can make it many different ways, i take a lg container of LF ricotta / frozen spinach - thawed & drained well / 1 egg / fresh herbs - i like tyme or basil / 1/2c Parmesan or romano. mix well, pour in a baking dish, add an additional 1/2c cheese on top - bake 350 till bubbly & brown on top. you can make this any way you want - pureed zucchini / eggplant...add pesto/marinara, lots of things you can do to change it up. it kinda got me thru my italian food cravings early on/ -
Why Am I Afraid of the Scales?
luluc replied to jetsy62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i think you'll find you'll have a love/hate relationship w/the scale. it's your best friend when you see the numbers go down, and just pure evil when it's done the reverse. i think weighing once a wk is a good idea (enough to check your progress - but not too much to be obsessive), also take your measurements. many times when you stall in your weight loss - you'll find your losing inches. -
that's a great NSV.. countdown beth - hrs away!!!
-
never heard that or been told. i eat a lot of spicy food (mexican / tai / sushi / italian), and add spices to everything i make. we're limited with what we can eat as is - if it were bland, i would be miserable.

How many fills do you get in a year?

How many fills do you get in a year?
luluc replied to cammafacation's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
in the last year i had 8 fills; 3 unfills, 1 fill. it's all personal what it will take for you - i typically went every 4wks. i required a bit more fills for restriction than most - but i just kept going till it was no longer necessary. i can really use one now - but am holding off for turkey day...lol -
I got my date! Anything I need to purchase?
luluc replied to poodles.me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i use my measuring spoons as serving spoons - so i know how much i'm "taking" & also really only use salad plates these days. few things: get your pain meds filled in advance like mentioned - have house cleaned & tivo or dvd's lined up to watch heating pad & body pillow - i had bad back pain and both helped sf ice pops - had a sore throat after the tube came out shopping of your favorite soups / drinks / shakes ... i would test out a few now - nothing worse trying to recover and deciding the $45 protein powder mix you bought is gross good luck!! -
congrats!!!

I can't believe some of the things I can't eat now
luluc replied to Brandy~'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
oh i'd be pissed if margaritas gave me a hard time...:rolleyes2: i treat myself each wk with one & they go down JUST fine - almost too well. i've not tried chocolate milk - but do drink regular milk (skim) fine..these might be just some of the things that give you trouble now, but might be able to enjoy further down the road?? dry chicken & sushi rolls are my only real problem food - have to have moist chicken & take my time w/the sticky rice. -
HELP! Thinking of canceling tomorrow surgery
luluc replied to WannaBSkinnyB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
good luck to all those being banded this wk - i think this thread turned into one of the positive ones by everyone's comments! -
call your band surgeon first & immediately. i would think you'd want the individual who place the lap band make recommendations on how to treat vs a local clinic.
