no, i read that part - and read it again. i have had ACL surgery, live with AS (ankylosing spondylitis - spinal arthritis), and have had multiple injuries over the course of 30yrs - sports related. never was i told - bed rest for any extended period of time. in fact - 30mins after waking up from ACL surgery...they made me get up and walk. and walk again in the AM for PT. my husband has had 2 surgeries for bulging disks - they have had his butt up and moving the first signs his eyes fluttered opened. i get that depression kept you bed ridden among other issues & you lost weight. but i'll never discount activity / exercise on what it can do for you both mentally & physically.

:tt2::wub::tt2::tt2: i did. still wanted to sleep; check challenge thread......hmmm another male here; won't plain be jealous...:)

both. my way is not everyone's way - but i would start back to square one, measure out your food - maybe journal your intake & fitness? i have found i HAVE to exercise if i want to eat what i want & it has to be of quality...not quantity. i am trying something new myself starting today - nectar drink before workout & another one in the afternoon. i'm not getting enough Protein via food - so i must supplement for the workouts my trainer puts me through. it's not something i wanted to do - but will try and see how things go. all trial by error - don't be so hard on yourself. just refocus and keep in mind how you want to look for your trip as a motivating factor.....i sometimes need a "goal/trip/party" to keep me focus when my mind wants to wander...

cold! and surgery on Monday
luluc replied to kplant's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
can you get a z-pack prescription this wkend? i would rest up / tea / baby yourself the best way you can this wkend to fend off whatever you have. hope your able to get your surgery! -
happen to agree with restlessmonkey. call your dr & tell him what you ate and what happened (PB). you may not know if you'll slip for several months out - but you should really be following your post op diet pretty closely...and bread shouldn't be on it... i would be really concerned about PB'ing this early out - stitches take time to heal. let us know how it turns out.

who ate what they craved/wanted up until the high protein diet?
luluc replied to klutzyazhel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i didn't have a pre-op diet - but i did go on a sushi bend for a month prior to banding. wasn't sure when i would be able to enjoy a spicy tuna roll - so i might have over done it, in that regard... -
hey beth - with the added weight, sure it's a likelihood that injuries "could" happen - but they happen to normal weight individuals as well. i "knew" my weight was going to come off slow - so i got on the exercise kick, and the cardio was the nudge that made things "click".

How did everyone do at Thanksgiving?
luluc replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had great difficulty in eating yesterday & very grateful i got a care package of leftovers to munch on today..... might to re-post tomorrow:wink: -
while walking is a good alternative exercise for those who "can't run" - i see nothing wrong with running at 215lbs. there are MANY on the Couch 5k program in & around that weight, and from experience with my trainer...running is what helped get my a$$ off the back of my thighs. OP, if you lost weight by being in bed more power to you!!! for myself, i sleep MUCH better after i have gotten my workout in. your sister likely did lose muscle.

yep - pointed & clicked away; all but done myself.
-
it probably would have been my last meal for them & that should be communicated to them by their son. sorry if i step on your toes about saying that. i understand the sensitivity of dialogue between sons & their parents all too well!

Turkey Day Survival Poll
luluc replied to HeatherO's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
missing one other option: WANTED to indulge, but the band had other ideas. aside from the wine - that was about all the calories i was able to get in. -
well that's unfortunate & rude - sorry slim! pjtp - i am hiding in my office today. all but 2 puppies are going to their new homes today (other 2 tom) & i just met a couple a few minutes ago - and looked at hubby that i didn't want them to have the dog. i got the eye, that i need to let it go. sniffs, sniffs -
-
i prefer the sesame & sourdough crispbread myself. i've tried the multi grain and it was a bit too much like cardboard...
-
had all expectations of eating whatever i wanted yesterday - but my band had different ideas...., finally decided to work. except for the liquid calories:rolleyes: yesterday - b- coffee * baileys (3) l / d- one spoonful of: dressing/potatoes/1slice of turkey s- 3 bites of ritz cracker pie / wine
-
OK - had a cute story about yesterday typed up and LBT ate it...twice. slim - sorry about your inlaws...did they explain to your husband for the no show? snt - NO politico' conversations yesterday....whew! my lapband - decided to work yesterday. took an hr to eat 1 spoonful of dressing/potatoes/1 slice of turkey...my karma for talking bad about MIL...LOL best line of the day - MIL "best indication of how my son is going to treat you is how he treats me"...this after her crying to me that he never calls her. FANTASTIC
