and i confessed to spending too much $$$$ w/out hubby knowing:tongue:....i just have a new addiction of having cute little boxes delivered each day. didn't know it went to food - will have to look. tap - i don't see that much snow unless i go skiing.. WOW!
  4. kcmagu - you and i have similar tastes!!! my mom LOVES the salmon spread - i've been passing it along to friends & family after they've had it at our home. san diego mom - it took me 6-8 months out before i got the "satisfied" feeling i was looking for - not so much full. 85% of the time i still measure or weigh out my food....otherwise i will have a tendency to over eat (take that bite or 2 too many) yesterday - b- slice WW toast w/cream cheese s- peach protein smoothie l- veggies & hummus s- half cup edamame d - 2oz sweet & sour pork loin

[quote name=Fanny Adams;1083260*edits* Then again' date=' if I had invited people to a dinner party and they showed up with desserts when I hadn't asked them to bring something, I'd probably be thinking they didn't trust my cooking enough to make a nice dessert for them! LOL! Maybe I'm just paranoid [/quote] i can't bake for crap - requires following too many instructions:tongue: when i have people over for the wkend or dinner - they always show up w/desserts of some sort. i'll always have some type of fruit - but the best i can do on the sweet side (and i don't have a sweet tooth) is M&M's or hit the bakery. however - i never show up to a dinner party empty handed. flowers, plant, candle, pastry, bottle of wine - all perfect gestures to your host thanking them for cooking a meal for them. i would put out whatever was brought, it's more than likely a thanks for the invite.

my inlaws live in allen - the outlets are the best part of that town:tongue2: you have to post a pic of the cons! talked to my mom in FL this AM.....she's in ocala and was pretty cold - but that's pretty north of the state. i'll admit i can't handle the cold. DH just woke up because he said the house was a furnace. he exaggerates! are we colder as we lose weight i wonder??

    Need advise from the Ladies

couple of things fireman - and these are just my opinions. opening a separate checking account is not necessarily a problem - i have one separate from my husband, however i had that since before marriage. after 29yrs to do so - would indicate preparation for separation...she's making a distinction of self vs couple by doing so. my 2 closest girlfriends went through divorce, and were advised by counsel to prepare themselves financially autonomous as soon as possible. now in those cases my friends were the primary bread winners - so they too felt the need to protect the stocks/401k/money market accts & so forth. to think about just the money is easy to do; makes you think twice about actual separation....but would you rather be rich & lonely? or comfortable and in a healthy / thriving relationship - where you have someone who WANTS to be with you? although your wife says she loves you - she's certainly not showing it & how long do you wait? it may not be what you want to hear, but i would seek legal counsel - if nothing else but to protect as much as you can and understand your options. sorry your going through this !

*hey leslie! *chocolate pumpkin protein muffins - sound really good, you have the recp mac? *shopping - not so much a fan of any longer; a lot is done online *ljm - more baby items?? that actually would be fun shopping for *trueblood - hubby has the series recorded for me, he loved it - just waiting for bit of downtime to hole up and watch it all..like the one snowstorm a yr in dallas:wink: ; nod to taps *dessert etiquette - i would have put out their desserts, but not sure that's 100% proper - veer on the side of the host to make that decision **cold again, just put on the fireplace (love that clicker) - lots of coffee...quiet house**, love sunday mornings
  12. cranberry spirals sound good taps! yesterday - b- slice of cheddar w/2 melba rounds l- 2oz chicken cutlet s- 1/2c pinto bean Soup d- 1c edamame s- handful of grapes
  13. san diego mom, here is the recp. kcmagu and i have been playing around with: Turkey and Cranberry Ravioli Recipe : Giada De Laurentiis : food Network the ravioli part is wonton wrappers. they are very easy to work with and much lighter than regular Pasta. i think you can make any type of ravioli w/these~ lu~
  14. not necessarily true - you may be a slow loser having a lower BMI, but that would be true of all weight loss surgeries for the most part. if your not sure what surgery to have - go to a seminar where the surgeons do all types of WLS. i personally had no desire for anything other than the band, so i went to a Dr. who only does lap bands. you will want a surgical team that provides excellent post op care....if the surgeon you selected is more "pro" another type surgery from the onset; you might be best to shop around.
  15. maybe getting away from the mindset of "working the band" for a bit, would help and focus on a healthy diet one she can live with long term....which includes - protein, fruits, veggies, complex carbs would be best for her. i don't even know what working the band means to be honest, considering every dr has their own set of instructions - no 2 alike. i had 8 fills before i reached restriction; and along the way, each one allowed for smaller portions and kept me satisfied for longer periods of time. i also did not want to be so restricted that i could not each carbs such as whole grain breads, brown rice, Pasta. i want to eat all foods, i'm lucky to get 50-60grams of protein each day and have since day one. no issues with nutrition/health or loss of hair. i don't eat perfect each and every day - i've let up on my fruits & veggies lately and i feel it .... so DH hit our farmers market today and loaded up. i still journal my food daily; because it helps me identify what i'm eating & how much....i felt a craving for a salad last night and looked back, it had been a while since having one. maybe her journaling her food would help?
  16. thanks for your sweet post!

the SNL skit w/justin timberlake was cut into her video. so you'll see him and 2 other guys from SNL ... hillarious! his "dick in a box" song was pretty brilliant as well - i think he has a comedy career.. cc - i just turned on my fireplace (gas). first time this season; cold TX morning.

    CONFESSION TIME..spill it

i don't disclose how much i really spend to DH. been told i'm going to be put on a budget...see how that goes.
  20. delicate is a great word to describe the wrappers. i didn't have a chance until wed to make the turkey/cranberry ravioli and the combination (i modified some towards yours) was very tasty - the little bit of cranberry goes a LONG way. my freezer has a second meals worth..LOL the wrappers can be modified to any type of ravioli - going to start experimenting...
