i was hoping when i got up she wasn't still in labor.... congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

i probably would have gone with the sleeve if i were a well informed pre-op WLS patient. but i wasn't - got the band, and that's what i have.... my insurance at the time wouldn't pay for it - went self pay; current insurance will handle any issue, fills, etc - all minus my copay. it took a good 6 months for me to get restriction - have had a port site infection & surgery to repair a hernia. all negatives in my book - but i had nothing that worked in the 5yrs leading up to surgery that gave me half the chance the band did. is it more work than other surgeries - yes i think due to working towards restriction. do i have to be diligent on my aftercare - absolutely.... are complications something that can happen - definitely. i hope this band lasts a lifetime - i lost the weight i wanted to; am a MUCH healthier almost "40" yr old than i was "30" yr old .... but i learned recently not to ignore a single hiccup in the process. i had other ideas for the money i paid for the band, i plan on taking care of it as best as a can; and annoy my dr with every question...i actually think he likes my questions:)

he is sweet - he was picking up some tailoring and "picked" something out for me...he's one of the those overly attentive, knows every damn detail about me - can't hide crap. he had my engagement ring sized my measuring my finger in my sleep w/a piece of string?>>>? ran into dillards just now and got a much more reserved shirt. LOL re bacon - i was thirsty just looking at the pictures. 8000 calories might be generous.

i had a few failed attempts @IVF & dh and i just decided that kids weren't going to be in our future - so we just stopped. if we really wanted a kid - adoption was an option; we just decided that our life was fine the way it was. that said - i am SHOCKED that she was able to be implanted. our facility was regulated the way our countries financial industry should have been. i am amazed, really i am. the financial / personal screening that took place was tougher than applying for a mortgage, which i had no problem with. how this woman got past such is more the issue i have. i find her selfish, especially if she can not support the 6 she already had - but thats' MO. i think a good hard look at the fertility facility who implanted her deserves a good investigation.

i like bacon, but that is a BIT much.

i never understood that? i don't have excess skin issues - just the blips on the side of the thighs that no running or squats have taken care of. that is what i want gone - but can live with it....still on the fence.

very sorry brand!! horrible timing - but do indeed enjoy your wedding !!! ljm - i keep checking fb for updates; be thinking of you today pjtp - have a diner party tonite with old colleagues i haven't seen in YRS, before i got heavy. they only know me the size i am now - but heard i got HUGE (cause i was coughed on). dh bought me an outfit (by himself) and i just tried it on - he had SLUT on the brain because the top goes down to my navel (which is a wrap tie thing) - the pants are fine, but i need to go get another blouse. he really is a perv!!!

ditto from around the corner in TX - look forward to your first post re - baby bean (joshua)....
-
yes jaymie - lipodissolve! i'd be interested in your results - please post! i got lipo on the brain for the future, but swore i'd go traditional only. all the best to you!!!
-
it's laser lipo on top of injected areas. the injection sites are what created these hardened lumps - i say dime size. i'd go traditional lipo myself....

luluc replied to Jacks2009's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you will be fine! i had one before surgery & 2 since (had one tuesday of this wk)....like others have said, you won't feel a thing - be a bit off w/the anesthesia ... but should be completely fine later in the day. no sore throat either, which is always my fear. -
tquad - i sure hope you can get that infection healed!!! & soon! go GG!!! today - 1hr on treadmill; jogged 20mins, walked 10 - then did interval sprints at 7mph at minute clips - walk a minute. sweat all the bad out!!!
-
tap - are you making or buying these? dh has a nut / crunch need, and i'd be interested in the chick pea version

mynewlife - my food intake is directly related to how active i am & yesterday is an indication. i had to wait for an injury to heal & i was just then able to do yoga & an 1 of cardio....my meals reflect that. yesterday - b- 1 scrambled egg, slice of tomato s - 1.5oz cheddar , few triskets l- 1c edamame d- half meatloaf sandwich s- oatmeal/raisin cliff bar

i'm not a mom - but this just crushes me. much kudos to you ladies, getting out of bad situations. i really have nothing else to add - just glad your all in better places!

WHy didn't anyone tell me....????
luluc replied to NoPBJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
true. i have only PB'd 3 times - and each time it was because i was starved and ate too fast. i personally think NoPBJ is too tight - anytime i got to a point that i could no longer eat chicken/beef/bread/pasta, i got an unfill. i didn't sign up to not eat the foods i enjoy or healthy ones (ie - salads/fruits/veggies). sure the band has it's downfalls & requires more than the average attention than other WLS - but it can work. -
Collin County Trims the Fat, Axes Lap-Band Surgery
luluc replied to Manatee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my surgeon went yesterday to the hearing. in fact - after he finished my endoscope & i came to in recovery w/dh ... he said he was going to testify on behalf of the county workers. saw alex's post on the 5-0 decision...very sad. -
it was an every day annoyance, whether pain after a meal or tender while working out/exercising.
