I hate it when people post just to post.....

i saw your PM this morning on the news who called the fires nothing short of mass murder....i hope you all are safe!! DH has a sales/eng team not far from there and he was working w/his company to relocate them in a safe place. i'll be thinking of ya!

    the scary stories dont help!

unfortunately the band works when you get proper restriction via the fills/adjustments. granted there are some that never need a fill - but i think that's such a small minority. i've had 9 fills & will go for my 4th unfill this wk, the only time it's hurt was the first time when i had a numbing shot before my fill. that was the first & last time i did it that way. i hate needles, so i don't look while they're doing it & have my ipod on so i can't "hear" it. may sound a bit foolish but i like the tap on my shoulder that they're done and i've not been a witness to it:)

i'm not a phone person - and do a lot of my communication via messenger (yahoo) or texting. FB's chat or private messaging has taken that place, as well as over regular email. just faster one/one chit chat time for those on the fly. i enjoy the pictures as well - tells more of a story about someone in MO & i've gotten back in touch w/my HS/college friends - which has been a riot looking at the photos of myself in the 80's.
  4. i would get a slight unfill, not necessarily to pig out on the cruise...but your tight 2wks out of a month & therefore could experience more restriction after being on a plane/boat & not likely able to get an unfill by the ships dr. (??) i'm getting a small unfill wed, before heading out on a skii trip thursday....i'm trying to find the least amt of restriction needed for somewhat maintenance mode. plus i plan on doing a lot of exercise snowboarding/skiing that i'll want/need to eat (need calories to burn them) no flogging here!

    stomach sleepers

i'm a stomach sleeper as well. i have a sensitive port, so i went and bought a really lg comfy body pillow & now i lay sorta on my side/stomach. the pillow protects any discomfort that the port provides & hugs me back:wink:

    I want a salad

try it! you won't know what foods you can/can't handle if you don't try & i can't imagine a dr or nut swaying patients away from healthy greens .. which we need. i have yet to have a problem w/a single veg/fruit - like jayne i enjoy throwing some Protein in - chicken/chickpeas/shrimp/grilled steak/eggs. give it a shot, especially if your body is craving it:smile:

    February 2009 Exercise Challenge

i'm a bit hooked on tennis & golf right now. DH bought tiger woods 09' golf & i'm hoping it takes a few strokes of my "real" game...LOL also if you like yoga - that is another decent activity on wii. today - heading to the gym will do an hr of cardio: treadmill/stairmaster.....as soon as i can find my running shoes - have a dog that likes to hide them on me.

    February 2009 Exercise Challenge

learning to multi task again; been a while, but law school is a bit more demanding that i expected. still working out in the mornings tsdy/thurs w/trainer & adding an additional 3 days of cardio. was off yesterday & this morning did an hr walk w/dogs.
  12. not from VA (use to live there), but 40 bands in 2yrs isn't enough experience for me. i went to a lapband only dr, who had done thousands before me - he probably does more than 40 a month...is there another dr you can go to? i think practice makes perfect & 40 wouldn't cut it for me...good luck!

    Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

no doubt. i just now saw the interview - i'm not sure she would have passed the psychological to get the lap band, let alone be a candidate for IVF. she doesn't seem quite there..

i get a lot of company - those wanting to escape the city. i don't mind - they usually bring a lot of wine & good food to cook up when visiting....most bring their fur babies too to run around the ranch - never thought about it but i should start charging boarding fees..LOL in catch up mode on the thread, few grandmas on the thread, i do like tippy taps:) as a name. funny thing taps - my favorite aunt is in town too (mom's baby sister), she's in the city as we have a wedding tonight....she can stay w/me anytime, i LOVE the stories she has on my mom.

    biggest loser - '09

joelle, has much deeper issues. her eyes wander, can't formulate cohesive thoughts & can be bullied. that's not to say that i think carla is a bully - - she's just pretty dominant & joelle certainly does not respond favorably to that approach. they are probably best served w/out each other as partners. brown team....i feel for the dad, his time is short. i think his main goal is to get his son to the point when they all go individual...., that's his motivation, cause he just can't compete. LOVE the blue team. CAN'T stand crying - of any kind, with any participant. yellow team - ok, who the F does the sister who only lost 2lbs in 30 days think she is to come in and bark at joelle for commitment?? i get she has 5 kids, blah , blah, blah. she had no business in MO to be as vocal as she was. can't WAIT to see her progress next wk! jillian - calling bullshit on her inches don't count comment. see i knew i could never have her as my trainer, cause i would have slapped her...LOL i had my measurements yesterday w/my trainer (every 6 wks) and i gained 2lbs...BUT lost 6 more overrall inches & another .9% body fat. my size 6's are getting loose - FINALLY! i think that comment was unfair because when my scale during this process didn't want to move - losing inches is what kept me sane and the scale on the inside of my bedroom window.

    Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

oye, i could go down the list what my mom would have done - none PC however: * never let me move in w/6 kids * commit me / have my tubes tied * call out the clinic she was working for / ethics issues i left my mom's home at 18 - never going back. if i went back & w/kids it would be by HER rules (dad's pretty easy going)....she'd own my ass let alone uterus.

    Have you noticed?

i lost less than 30lbs by month 6 - that's slow in my book. but i never got discouraged & knew the rest of the lbs would fall off my a$$. i'd let the poll percolate a bit for good range of votes/opinions.

    Have you noticed?

i voted for the latter option.... i saw a commercial - was tired of being fat & diets not working - called a surgeon - insurance wouldn't cover me (bmi too low) - i was self pay in 2kwks. not proud that i wasn't fully informed, found this site AFTER being banded...; but it's what you do after the little sucker is in you, that counts. i was a slow loser in the beginning - not for anything i did; just my body... but i lost more than what my dr suggested by month 10. all relative in my opinion; some are where i was, thankfully many helped me out a bunch early on. being informed early on does not guarantee 100% success.
