that's exactly the reason. he just saw his chance of having a winner this season go over to jillians side. i was a big fan of the blue team (cousins) - they just need to shake it & move on. btw - tara is a rock star. won the mud contest & rode the most miles....she's on a mission.

11yr old boy murders dads pregnant girlfriend

hunting in TX is a right of passage as well. i place blame on dad in this case. there is nothing wrong teaching your child how to hunt (if we had children - they too would learn). gun ownership/safety/training is the parents responsibility. why was an 11yr old boy able to have access to this gun? i get it was a christmas gift - but that puppy should have been locked in a gun safe w/the combination only in dad's trusty memory bank. how can you expect an 11yr old to understand safety if dad doesn't practice the same? dh and i have many guns, i have a CHL in the state of TX. we twice a yr get re certified & hit the gun range. even w/no kids our guns are in a gun safe which is bolted to the concrete floors, and each in their own locked casing. we have a lone shotgun handy - should we need it (we are on a ranch & coyotes are a problem). i fault dad....his son, his decision to make the purchase, his responsibilty to have that in a secured place out of reach of children in every day life.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

took hubby giving me the go ahead and i BARKED back at my MIL. can't come to our home & dictate what goes on (she was pissed at the time i 'allowed' her daughter & her partner to share a guest rm of ours, while they were there)...guess what - you don't get a say, or you can get a hotel rm. got the water works going and i just threw her a box of tissues and told her to deal....done if she wants a relationship w/her son, she gets me in a nice neat bow...LOL i cross my fingers daily they move to FL - can sick my mom on them if they do. she'd LOVE it:sneaky::smile::cursing:

i agree w/donna & ebony here slim...this is not an easy decision. the only thing i have going for me is that DH can't stand his mother either (just does the obligatory diners here/there) in a control environment (that's OUT to eat not at any of our homes). if your husband won't put mom & possibly brother in place - will he give you the authority to do so? .... think i'm breaking out in hives discussing MIL's...., there's no holiday soon is there???

his dad....she's divorced w/his dad (7yrs). said he was staying w/a friend, then went to mom/step dad's house and had a throw down. i asked him if his dad knew & he said no....told him he better warn dad cause mom will sick it to him too. slim - that is an awful situation. my MIL is a hypocondriac who would LOVE to call me every 5 seconds, but DH has thankfully told her to only call me for an emergency....she was outlined in writing what constituted an emergency as well:)
  10. thank you justarose, initially my lapband surgeon was extremely leary in doing the surgery - till he had a conversation w/my gastro. i have been off meds since surgery in 1996, and i may have had 2-3 flair ups a yr. since it's an autoimmune disease affecting the ileum, bowels, & digestion - banding doesn't sound like a "good fit". i'm pretty cautious of any "tummy" issues and honestly i've not had any negative issues since being banded. i'm guessing this would be a case by case issue - but by all means, it's worth a shot at getting a consult. sorry about the insurance!!

i would slit my wrists and pour alcohol over them if my MIL moved closer than the hr away from us that she is now. ok - that was dramatic, but still......that would be a HUGE pill to swallow. i would have PB&J out for them this evening for diner and take your son out to eat.

good - trying to strike a balance. DH wants me to do it FT (cause of the $$$), me i prefer PT......so trying to find a happy medium inbetween. thanks for asking! ps - you & your mob..LOL:tongue2: ptjp - my best friend might kill me. she caught me on fb last night and told me that she found out her 15yr old had a party friday night ... kids got drunk & she has parents calling her left / right. she's in Mexico till thursday. well i just called her son and told him he better get a friend to pop him in the jaw/get some injury because his mother is going to kill HIM. figured he needed fair warning - he was stunned she knew / i also told him NO he can't come stay w/me....omg he is so dead!!!
  13. i have gone back & forth between journaling & not journaling the last 2 months. right now, i'm back journaling because i think i do eat more when not - i'm sure it's mental, but since it worked in the past....i'll keep doing it. as far as weighing....i do it wkly.

    Confessions of a gym snob

lol....this made me laugh as i'm getting ready to hit the gym myself. i really try to go off hrs (after the morning rush of those working out before work & those in the evening - after wk). if i can't do it mid morning; i likely don't go....reason i'm trying to set the house up w/a gym. i can see what your saying & how ya feel. i've had no problem tapping someone on the shoulder who was just standing on the treadmill talking on their cell phone, to either use the machine or excuse themself to chatt....

    Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

i saw that too. they also showed a clip from radar.online of an exchange between octomom & her mom. she talked to her mother horribly....she kept claiming over/over again that she had only 2 choices; have the children (embryos implanted) or destroy them. she actually had a third, and that would have been in donating them.... her poor mother looked awfully tired, told her daughter she needed to get help..... i need to go to radar.online and watch that whole interview.

    Let's Talk Movie Review

i really want to see slumdog millionaire, but i have a hard time getting DH out to the movies. he likes to wait till their on demand and watch in his media rm. think he' just likes the pause feature a bit too much. i'm a big coen brother fan, and saw burn after reading this wkend. not one of their best, but i do like john malkovich... he played a great drunk:)

    Exercise and Health Issues

sorry tquad, you made me laugh @this one:) hope you get some resolution to the fatigue, can you take an OTC sleeping aid or have a dr prescribe one? i bet the lack of sleep isn't helping matters. feel better!!
  23. if you can lose on 1400 calories a day - i see no harm, but for me i can't...i float around 1000-1220 a day on avg. mushies can be: ricotta bake, refried beans, cottage cheese, hummus, egg salad, hearty soups (liquified down) like lentils, oatmeal,. i'm doutful you did any damage, but if your suppose to be on mushies - i would stay on them; 2wks out your still healing. good luck!! yesterday - b- 1 boiled egg (made egg salad w/) on wasa cracker s- 2 slices of watermelon l- half roasted veggie sandwhich (one slice of whole grain bread) & small cup of tomato basil soup d- small bowl of kung pao beef (very little rice/ extra veggies) s- 1 oatmeal protein cookie **my appetite is ferocious it seems, got a fill scheduled next monday**
  24. let's just alert the FDA, that surgeons are performing the lapband on morbidly obese & obese individuals vs only SMO. better yet - contact band manufacturers & slap them on the wrist for selling bands to those same surgeons. ((laughing)) the insurance companies pick and select what comorbities they will include to be covered for the band. only the most severe ones are part of that package, so if your in a "maybe/sorta" bad spot medically....the ins company holds your cards. nothing unethical of a dr/surgeon making a well educated diagnosis that a band is a proper tool for some.
