    start a thread for questions about surgeons in your area - city, state, country.... once you get some names - you can do a search here on them and get the good/bad.....worth a start.

    call your insurance to see if they cover any kind of WLS. then get it writing - each coverage has different requirements. mine (bcbs) you had to have 2 comorbids if your bmi was under 40 and they needed to be really extreme....that's not the case w/every policy - which is why you should get a copy of your's directly. all the while research lapband drs in your area - most experienced w/the best aftercare! good luck!!

    i too had a bmi of 36 - lost 70lbs. yes i was hungry after 1 month post op - healing & that lasted till i was able to get restriction. longer for some - i needed quite a bit of fills over a long time....but it did happen. don't feel the need to remove the band unless there is a reason to do so - i was self pay. thankfully, no excess skin issues. i have pretty good skin/genes & wasn't heavy but for 4 yrs in my 30s'....hit 40 next month and w/exercise i've snapped back well.

    ceradad is the resident bull dog in pushing us all!!!! you'll be amazed TKM how a little bit more each day will progress you!. SO - cast off ankle yesterday, spin class today w/hubby and i kicked his ass. he swore he was having a heart attack by the end of it and i just had to smile that even w/an injury i was able to still keep in shape - well somewhat.

    he could :mad2: - he really doesn't want to go out of town, so maybe the sun will show up????? happy bandanniverdary G4E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! re belly shots - i treat them like the R&R section. it's not for everyone, while respectful for those who have shown before / after, not so fond of scar shots over coffee...just me.

    fanny i'm one of those cooks who does not "measure" anything, but here is what i make it w/: wasabi paste - good squeeze low sodium soy sauce rice wine vinegar sesame oil lemon zest - squeeze of juice salt/peper touch of honey i like the heat side more so than sweet - but you can very easily play around.

    go ahead! i made something similar tonight only w/strawberries, walnuts, cucumber, leeks & spinach. i make a wasabi vinaigrette that i could literally drink...:thumbup:

    i have a cup or 2 each morning. i don't add anything to it, i prefer a good quality & black.....i will take the left over and pour into ice trays and use as ice cubes for my protein drinks, extra boost.

    i don't see one thing that you said that would get you in trouble or that i disagree w/. my dr doesn't buy into the protein first or other rules that most here seem to follow and i've pissed some off by saying so, and i really can give a rats "well ya know". making a salad right now for diner - what a horrible choice:glare:

    can't keep up w/michelle the quoting queen.... pjtp - hubby's trip is cancelled & he's on vacation now instead 2 wks.....he wants vaca at the house, i have visions of hot tanned bodies delivering me fancy drinks w/umbrellas - working on it.....

    for the gay couples i know - they don't need the word married .... heck i don't even call DH, my husband rather my SU - spousal unit. we have a gay wedding here in a few wks - PISSED off the 2 brides (men) have better legs than me & wearing suits. not that i would ever wear a dress either..:thumbup:

    Eating the same food everyday

    no fruits, veggies, grains, dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt / etc)? personally i get bored - so i have to mix it up A LOT & with working out, especially weight training i need the good carbs & dairy. you seem protein / carb heavy - but that's just my opinion & doesn't work for me personally...plus i crave veggies too much.

    going w/dh this afternoon to see this - i promised. i don't do sci-fi at ALL, but he leaves out of town for 2wks tomorrow & the movie theater is a studio grill & i can get wine:wink: pjtp - another monday on LBT, more belly shots on the home page...:frown:

    yesterday - 30min bike, random hill level 7 - 9.2 miles - abs today - 30min bike, random hill level 8 - 9.25 miles - abs get my cast off tom am.....plan to do spinning while easing into walking.

  23. lizzy - i have trouble w/breakfast sometimes as well because i don't like the typical breakfast foods. i just try to eat what sounds good that morning...sorry not much help. yesterday- b- vans organic waffle w/pb l- few bites goat cheese salad, 3oz grilled salmon, asparagus s- too many wasabi peas d- bowl of roasted sugar snap peas, 2 glasses of chardonay

    good luck on your 5k tom ceradad!!!! yesterday- not much ab/tri/shoulder/bicep routine today- heading to the gym shortly & will bike for 20-30mins. i've gained 2lbs since out of cardio commission for a month....so i'm right, if i want to eat - i HAVE to exercise!

    kat i showed DH your pics the other night and he's ready to get another hog - he sold his when he hit 300lbs. well that's gone, and he said he'd get a new one when the leathers fit......me i like my horse to ride, he's easier cause i don't have to worry about my feet not flat on the surface at a stop.
