TXGirly -, sorry for your loss. Whosya - FANTASTIC...WOW. Got my runs in this wk, and am off for vacation tomorrow. For the first time in FOREVER, I'm taking my running shoes...and will be in the gym every day if not twice a day. Have to work off a margarita/pina colada or 2 off:) Have a GREAT wk all~ -

I eloped to Vegas. Came back, and the following wkend had a catered cocktail party for close friends and family at the house DH and I bought with the money we would have used for a traditional wedding ... Something neither of us wanted. Understated elegance can go a LONG way, pot luck dinner does not fall into that category. As others have mentioned, if saving is more important to you - I suggest an evening cocktail hour with help from family/friends on the food front, or an early brunch.

Were you approved contigent of your PCP's letter? If you were, I would contact your OBGYN - possibly he/she could assist if your Reg Doc won't. Good Luck to Ya!

Destiny, I slow cooked baby back ribs last wkend (football day) - which is a Family Fav, that fell of the bone/YUMMY/moist and easy to go down. It was a real treat. PM me if you want the recp.

Boo Boo, Not sure if you've posted this somewhere else.., Will you have to have plastic surgery? Feel free to ignore, I was just curious. You totally rock & are quite and inspiration... Have you treated yourself to anything yet??...:eek:

Briskett 1 5/6 lb briskett, lay it on the bottom of crock pot. Salt / Peper / Worschstire Sauce, then place strips of bacon (I like pepercorn) covering the entire briskett. Add 1 1/2 bottles of Dickeys BBQ sauce (or other pref), 1/2 cup of Merlot, 1/4 cup Alegra Marinade & a couple shakes of liquid smoke. Cook 7+hrs till it falls apart.

I can't disagree with you more. For real, you want and IUD fitted for everyone that has terminated a pregnancy? "There shouldn't be a choice". That is beyond antiquated that I'm actually lost for words to counter your statement. For the same reason I believe in keeping this a personal medical intervention - I would never want a Dr to tell me he/she was going to outfit me for a birth control device, when the pill described by such Dr did NOT work. Let's set back the crisis of womans health back another 50yrs. Not everyone uses abortion as a form of birth control - Sometimes, a woman relies on her DOCTOR to provide her the best form of protection. Maybe THEY should be held responsible when that method does not work...not the woman who has to bear that burden. -

ya, i'm not talking about the clip ones you find in a beauty supply store. my hairdresser from back home in NY ordered me a pair a few yrs back, and they are the real deal. i mess w/my hair a lot, grow out...cut it all off, and for those evenings i want long hair...they look very real. check with some salons in your area, there are many that are real hair and realistic.

Ha, and I'm a transplant Long Islander living in TX...just NOW getting use to the "Redneck Side" of things, tho being here several years. Never imagined how many uses for Duck Tape one could come up with....Add bungys to the mix, hubby could be entertained for days....LOL

I think genetics plays a larger role than the band - ie: thin hair. I "had", since I just cut it all off, really thick hair to begin with, having to have it thinned out regularly - Fairy, there are extension clips...kinda attached to a comb that are a better solution to extensions. You can wash, cut, & color them..., nothing permanent and can be used on those "fun occassions".

Big D, Not sure you'll get the same answer twice as I've learned every Dr has different post op instructions. My Wks 1 & 2 was all liquid (coffee / tea / juice / broth / skim milk / SF pops) with 3 Protein shake "meals" ( I hated every thing but Atkins vanilla Shakes). Once a day you could have one of: LF yogurt / sf pudding / apple sauce or baby food fruit. Wks 3 &4 Mushy / Soft food. Mashed potatos / cream Soups / cottage cheese / oatmeal / scrambled eggs / grtis / lf refried Beans ... you get the gist, plus 2 Protein shakes. The first 2 wks, I could barely eat (was told that was pretty normal as I was healing )- by the middle of wk 4 I really started to get hungry and hated doing the shakes , so my surgeon moved me to solids at that point. When hungry I was still only able to eat 2-3oz of food, 3 times a day - that pretty much was 1/2cup of food. My husband got banded with me, and he's a big guy...he needed a lot more than 2/3oz & 1/2cup of food - so he was given the go ahead to consume a bit more. I'd stay in touch with your Dr and keep him posted on your hunger status, I didn't have the "head hunger" that I've read a lot about...but the hubby sure did. It was very difficult for him to get his head wrapped around the fact that he'd only be eating 1/2c of food at one sitting. Good luck to you, this IS the hardest part of this process.

To my Favorite Contractor, Plumber & Electrician.. PLEASE finish the rennovations to our house in '08!! You three are very nice men, however I'm getting tired of living in 500 sqft at a time with DH & 7 dogs, thankfully they have a lot of room to roam during the day. I know it will all look great, but I'm ready to have the "Money Pit" put back together. The holidays are over, please - please put my floors in / my bathrooms tiled / shutters installed / then paint...I'll let ya take a breather before we start the kitchen.., Your Fav Client,

Thanks U 2, I was a forward & a fast short distance runner - and managed to escape the mile trecks we had to take...cause I hated running. Now I can wait each morning. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Big D, my husband was banded with me...and he's more restricted than I am. He LOVES Jasons Deli or Panera Breads' broccoli cheese soup. He easily eats that 3/4 times a wk..... Your Neighbor to the South..

Karen / Whos I have a question for you 2. I just started running (Sunday - lol), and I really think I can ramp up (use to play college soccer). The question I have, did your weightloss really kick in once you started? I'm not sure if it's my 3rd fill or the daily running now, but it's starting to clip off. Not complaining, cause I'll just run till I can't anylonger, was just interested in the weightloss once adding running into the mix vs the bike / eliptical / etc. I was doing everything but run, and once I have - WOW. Appreciate your feedback, Lulu

Hey Mindy - We so need rain, maybe that would flush some of the crap out of the air. Not sure what to tell you. I wake up w/the sneezys but after a cup of coffee or 2 I'm ok. Hubby not so much, we put a humidifier in the bedroom last night, and that did seem to help. I work out about an hr after my breakfast - or it's not likely to happen. Maybe switching night to day??? Not sure that fits into your normal daily schedule. If you feel like crap - maybe a good walk vs running would be best. -
I had to give up my Chick Fil-A addiction after being banded. I did once have the grilled chicken sandwhich once w/out the bun, but that was NEVER what I got there in the past. Those waffle fries are too tempting.
