  1. my guess is you'll be moderated. everyone gave you sound advice - dropping weight has nothing to do with the post op liquid diet. it's about healing, in fact my dr suggested i not pay attention to the scale till i was on to actual food. go do a search here on how so many are scared to enter the mushy/food stage because they'll gain some weight back after being on liquids for several wks. it will happen, which is why there is the healing phase & the "living" with the band life. very likely one will not know of any damage done till several months out.......but it's your band, you do what you wish .

more on the "joyfully intoxicated/dancing w/young men" - !!! glass #2 of wine - it is 5'oclock somewhere, just not in TX at the moment:)
  3. personally - i don't care for fage.....much too thick for me. i prefer either oikos or chobani - both of these come either plain or with a fruit (peach/blueberry - my favs). if i buy the plain - i cook with that a lot in replacement of sour cream or heavy cream for a sauces....if it's for Breakfast, i like honey & granola as an additive.

tap i hope you got that nap - cause i just THREW down some moo shu pork (minus pancake)... i have less fill than when i woke up from surgery - but my cough is gone & acid reflux nada. i had an aspirated cough due to infection from an inner ear infection - so back to 1.5cc's ...... started the wk w/7.2. in 2wks i lost 11lbs & i bet those are firmly reinstated on my A$$ by sunday:wink: thanks all.!. * congrats on the new car ebony!!! * slim, i'll send you a hot toddy recp for your teeth - if nothing else it will knock you out * TPG found PG - wow that was fast.....glad your satellite has been reinstated * kc - recover? ...ahhhhhhhhhhh food, got the warm & fuzzy's now. my surgeon and i laughed today when he asked about DH. i said he's fine , no issues w/the band - i'm just the problem child. i've had multiple issues and DH has had a cakewalk - go figure :cool2: i see a silly friday night in my future - to early for wine???

    Low Profile port?

i too am a stomach sleeper - i am also pear shaped *butt / thigh / hip chick*. my low profile port is now right under my left breast. it actually touches my sports bra - you have no control on how you lose the weight / where it's distributed. i'm am short & very short waisted - as i lost my port became increasingly noticeable & i had the same amt of weight to lose. i wouldn't get hung up on the looks of the port exposed....much better than the weight. if it's that much of a deal - i've heard the port placed in the shoulder. something to consider as you drop the lbs.

that's about how much i lost in the same amt of time. i just stuck w/what i was doing (exercise/eating) and kept my fingers crossed it would all fall into place. by month 8 is when i really started to "see" the results & the weight fall off more readily than most see in the beginning. glouc - hot & sour soup sounds good about now. texts DH for some soup as there is NO good asian food in the country:)
  13. i wouldn't offer any kind of advice - unless asked, and even then i would be inclined to be brief. she sounds as though she wasn't willing to make a shift in her eating style after being banded; you can't fix that. just go on about your business, she may catch on - she likely won't ..... the only problem is if your success enters the workplace. it shouldn't , but sounds like it will. tread w/caution.

actually that birth control thread was pretty damn funny!
  17. punkster - i follow the back of the bags directions as far as soaking & such but i add more to it to give it "bulk". i'll use what ever fresh veggies i have on hand, can of rotelle, chicken stock, and a cup of brown rice. this past time the veggies i used: onion/garlic/zuchinni/squash/carrots i keep my 2c measuring cup of chicken stock full and add as the beans can absorb faster than the veggies & rice do. you can play around w/these as they are very versitile. yesterday - cold still making it a problem eating: b- half english muffin w/cream cheese / low sodium v8 l- peach/mango protein smoothie d- 1/4c spinach risotto, bite of italian meatloaf s- SF choc pudding cup

taps - sorry about your sleep interupted. i've said before, i have no concept of insomnia - went to bed @ 8 last night and got up a little while ago.....could have kept on going if i didn't have a 115lb lab jump on me to go out. do OCD's work? personal space - i'm just rude i guess, cause i let it be know w/little to no words your a bit too close. i'm married to a very touchy person - so it's worn off on me so w/family & friends, but i don't want someone elses funk on/near me. FB - glouc, you and SNT cracked me up w/the farm stuff. i just can't do all those applications - chit chatting is all i got:) onto coffee & lots of it, while watching the sun come up:)

  22. i very much doubt i could eat this way w/out the band. i was not into junk food or sweets - i just liked good food & large quantities. i also don't think .5c of food suits my activity level. i run a small ranch & work out 5 times a wk....i eat when hungry. i don't believe there is a template or one size fits all with this band. what works for one - does not for another, evidence in my own home w/my husband also banded. polarbear mike got restriction w/band placement alone, there are many on this board who have been successful w/no fills.
