From a Dem, that was cute~

I've never heard of a tim tam, but one sounds good with my coffee about now *starting that time I think*. Wombat - I started going a year ago to my OBGYN to get monthly B12 shots. My TOM wasn't just painful, but awfuly draining...it seems to have worked some *could all be in my head*, but I dont' seem to be dragged down as much during that lovely time. When all else fails, I get the heating pad out!

Luu - Yeah I ended up having to go self pay. Again I would call your Insurance Co directly and ask all questions as it pertains to Bariatric Surgery. I think each "company has different riders that can include/exclude certain procedures & have different requirements. I'm going to guess that your employer does not have the right to know that you plan on having this done (unless you tell them), the same they wouldn't if you participate in an EAP (employee assistance program - depression / drugs / etc.)...Good luck, please keep us updated on your outcome. Hi, I can definitely eat more the week before TOM, and my cravings are all "salty". I try to still keep in diet mode, but will eat a tad more & allow for a "treat" during that period (no pun..lol). I don't weigh myself during that time nor do I schedule a fill. I'm pretty restricted now, and next wk will be the real test. Good luck to ya!!

SUPERBOWL!!! Who's gonna win?
luluc replied to smatyas's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think we'll see enough of Peyton during commercial break - cause he's like in every one. Go GMen! -
My BMI was also 37. I had no comorbities, but knew that an unhealthy / overweight lifestyle was going to create some. I had BCBS of TX, because my BMI was not over 40 w/at least 2 comorbids - I was declined. I would call them directly and get a full discription of what their coverage is for the Lapband or other WLS.

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

I'll be cheering you guys on from afar...(really just north on 35:tongue:) -
I'd like to be more eco-friendly - It's just taking some time. DH and I are remodeling our Farm House and currently have replaced all windows / insulation / roof to conserve energy. When we moved to the country, little over 2yrs ago, I wanted a green house - so we built one with solar panels. Granted it's not that Big of a Green House, but I'm married to an Engineer who wanted to "test drive" these panels .. we each have a vested interest in this project, though very different. We utilize a compost heap for nutrients for the veggies & herbs, which saves on our garbage disposal needs...like Jack we go to the dump but about every other month. Our light bulbs are energy efficient, I use cloth bags for shopping, our tanks (texas term for pond) supply the horses with water from rain, our mowing is cut in half by having just 2 cows, and since we're in the country - we burn our "paper goods". I'm sure there is a "little" something everyone can do, DH wants to take our ranch and be able to "live off it completely" at some point..., I know that will require me to do most of the lifting ...haha! I like this thread, as I'm typing I'm thinking of what other ways to be "Planet Friendly" outside giving up my Hummer. Yes I have a Hummer, but it's a necessary evil for us. We have an all terrain ranch, and the pickups just can cross over ponds / creeks - and with the wench, drag trees / fencing / etc. We very rarely use it around town (it does only take 9mile to the gallon) - a Full tank will last approx 2 months.

It's diaper "like" / napkin that you lay on top. My place uses it I'm guessing for modesty purposes - so your not laying completly exposed, true not like it's a big difference...I grew to appreciate it in the years I got heavy,

I'd call around to find a spa that specializes in waxing - Me, I went and tested the place I go to by getting my brows waxed first. Not similar - but wanted to see how things were done Trixie - they will "clean you" as much as you want..and that area behind is covered as well. . The place I go has a paper diaper that you lay on top of you, and you get "moved" side to side as the handle each area..your not "spread eagle". It's their job, they see your privates like they do others all day long. Be clean and take a valium if you have to,

Frozen Thin Mints ... YUM!!!
-
Trixie - For Real?? I don't know if I'll ever have the courage as some of those who post their before / after pictures here on the internet for EVERYONE to see - but I'm pretty sure calling them out for what you view as "camera trickery" - NOT a healthy way to applaud weight loss of any kind.

I'm inclined to believe Guiliani will drop out today - Right now Mit & McCain are at a statistical tie according to MSMBC.

I saw my first Obama '08 bumper sticker in downtown Dallas last night, and it was a DELIGHT to the thousands of "W" ones I've seen the last few years. Intrestingly Caroline Kennedy wrote and OpEd piece in the NYTimes showing her support for Obama...he might just capture the Democratic Nomination:tongue:!

I'm going to try a Hip Hop Class today @24hrftns - I'm laughing just typing this. Trying to keep things a bit more interesting other than the couch to 5k..gee I hope I don't look like an old fool at this..HA!

I've never seen them, but also never looked - thanks travelgrl!

Oct 07 Bandsters - how are you doing?
luluc replied to yankeerobin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nancy, my forth fill last wk bumped me to 7cc's as well. Can totally tell the restriction now, it was sheer will power dieting and working out prior to this fill. I'm coming up on losing 40lbs & have fill #5 scheduled in 3wks - not sure I'll need it, but will wait till then to decide. Good luck all on the progress!!! -
Low Calorie/Band Friendly Superbowl Snacks?
luluc replied to Sue Magoo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Same boat here Sue. I'm making a pot of Chicken/White Bean Chili, and a low fat bean dip (FF refried Beans / grnd turkey / taco seasoning / frz corn / shredded cheese = bake). Hopefully, most won't realize the huge cut in fat/calories! -
This thread is hillarious! Colton, your Pic reminds me of the 'bald man in a row boat' analogy on this topic!! I let DH shave once, ONCE on our honeymoon and that's when I went to waxing. The ingrown hairs alone drove me crazy - like the Sat Nite Live Sketch w/Gilda Radner (think she had a yeast infection tho) sliding up and down the banister w/a hard bristled brush...very funny!
