    Realize band

You win for being annoying quite frankly....Didn't you say your "gone"? I'm going to guess everyone who has the Realize Band did so by choosing what works for them based off of their consultation w/their surgeon...Not by typing in to Wikipedia. Can you just move on - please??
  2. Congrats Big Time Pipinje!!! DH and I were banded the same day - Love have a partner & crime in this adventure...All the best,
  3. I'm glad 4jin you got the shot!!! I swear by them, had my monthly this am and was the energizer bunny @ the gym.... Kat - Your right the fresh air and sun does wonders....Fabulous 80degree day in Dallas today & my horse loved me being on him for more than 15minutes..

  5. I lived on Atkin Low Carb Protein shakes / Egg Drop Soup - Fat Free Ice Pops / Fat Free yougurt - Pudding the first 2 wks.... Check out this link for Ideas - There's a lot to sift through, but you can get some ideas for the next 4 wks of your healing process: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/liquid-stage-recipes-17636/
  6. I would talk to your Dr about your Post Op Phases of liquids/mushy/soft foods. My Doc did not tell me Not to eat breads or crackers ** I have a hard time w/them, so I tend not to eat them**. A half a cup of food will not satisfy me one bit / nor was that my recommended measurement. I was told to eat 3 high protein meals a day (preferred not liquid meals)...You'll find just about every surgeon has a different set of guidelines...Good Luck to You~ today: b - 3oz FF yogurt w/ 1/4c granola l - 3oz LF cottage cheese & 3 oz of deli thin turkey d - 4oz beef briskette & 1/4c ranch beans s - handful of walnuts

What is your Fill Level in a 10 cc AP Band?

I have 7.4cc in my 10cc band. Restriction is fine however I think I do more by dieting and exercise to loose weight. My doc told me I would more than likely need to go over 8cc to get to my sweet spot. I know I'm not there, I can see my husband (aslo banded) totally at his "spot" with 6.5cc in his 10cc band. I go for fill number 6 next wk - "maybe" that will be the one.

    Personal Trainer

I have a Love/Hate relationship w/my trainer. I love that he's getting my body to look better than it has in yrs & hate him when he's kicking my A$$. He's an ex Marine, and thinks I've signed up for Boot Camp at times:) If it werent' for him, I'd be a mess since my weight loss is at a snails pace... Not sure I can give him up just yet **need to buy more sessions** ...

Oct 07 Bandsters - how are you doing?

Sue - I'm doing a South Beach Version of "Low Carbing". I do add whole grains, veggies and fruits that are carbs, just to get more balanced meals - and it seems to be working / don't feel like I"m missing too much. I didn't have a Pre Op liquid Diet (was told to do the South Beach) and I've just kept it going..I'm down 40 & Hubby's down 65 - You can find a lot online regarding South Beach Diets & recipes...Good luck~
  11. wow - steph, great weight loss!!! thanks for house keeping foofy!!!

Should I cut my hair? (see pics)

The cut is "charming"...I cut 14inches off 2 months ago and I LOVE my short hair. Not sure who mentioned it here, but at 38 the long hair didn't suit me any longer, almost made me look older. Love the short shaggy bob - makes running a lot easier w/out a mop of hair on top of me.... You look Fab - love the highlites!!!

    telling friends

I just recently told my mom, who thought it was a fantastic thing, and wants me to talk to my older brother about the Lapband for himself. I've not shared w/friends - only hubby (also banded w/me) and my younger brother know, and for as slow as the weight loss has been (which is fine w/me) I'm glad I've not shared just yet -... so not to get the "what did you loose so far" comments. I'm sure I'll evolve & let others know my process, but right now I'm kinda private (except here..LOL) about my WLS - as I was with my weight gain....Best to you~

Oct 07 Bandsters - how are you doing?

Hey all, I must say I got so upset w/the scale & had to walk away from it for a while (other than fills). 4+ months out, it is starting to move consistently and I've dropped mega amts of inches. When I started I was a size 16, and though I've just dropped 40lbs - I can now wear size 10's and 1 pair of 8's that I have....guess being at the gym 5+ days a wk is paying off. I read somewhere here early on that it takes 4/5 fills or 4/5 months before the scale moves - seems to be the case for me. I'm not at perfect restriction *think one more fill will get me there* but I diet and exercise like a mad woman. My husband was banded with me - and we're pretty competitive (healthy way of course..lol). I work out 10times more than him, but his weight drops off MUCH faster **guys have it lucky that way**... I'm halfway there, and hope to at least drop another 25 before bathing suit season, All the best~

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

Awesome!.....I'd do a lot of stretching bigbaby. Before & after the run - I sometimes forget to stretch after a workout , seems to be a difference for me. If not I hit the hot tub (warm bath would work too)... Thanks Whosya For keeping us motivated, as always - Finnished wk 6 today, and I am WORN out. Taking tomorrow off and sleeping in for a change and watch dumb movies. Have a good wkend all~ Lulu

    Realize band

Why does it matter that much to you?? As a pre-op, as you suggest you are, .. your only involvment in threads are around the Realize Band and it's flaws. As a pre-op, I think you would participate in the hundreds of threads that have outstanding knowledge regarding all the stages you are about to encounter. Forgive me, but you still sound like someone w/an agenda only participating in one forum - that to bash the Realize Band.

    beef recall

Have you seen the movie "Fast food Nation"? The plot is essentially what you question Kat - and it's very disturbing. I have 2 cows that are "spooked" easily ... but will charge back at my Heeler when she's trying to get them from one part of the property to the other...Other than that, they are great lawn mowers, and like to be hand fed apples.

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

I'm averaging between 4.4-4.7 this past wk (previously 4.1-4.4) .. I think w/the longer I run, the higher I can bump up the speed. That may not make sense but seems to be my pattern. If I keep the speed at 4.1 - I putter out quicker - just odd. Anyway if I'm just walking on the treadmill (non running day) I have the speed at approx 3.2 and a 3.5 incline. Wombat - I'm short too, 5'1...DH has been calling me Fred Flinstone lately .. cause my legs move so fast (like when Fred's trying to start the car..running:tongue:) but I don't get very far (distance wise). I'm concentrating on my time more than distance now. Wk6 is an ass whip, and I do all I can to pay attention to the time and spacing out the walk vs jog. Think I may need to log onto Itunes tonight and download some more songs...Need the beat faster to keep me going. Good job Bigbaby - keep posting!,
  25. Well of course Fox would be in the "know" re: Huckabee ..He was to be at a local church - but from what I understood , they moved his speach to the local Jr College in NTX. I agree with you Jack. I think Obama has the uniqe gift to "gab". Great speaker, can he pull this off?? That remains to be seen - Would I give him a chance, Hell yeah. I would choose the Rock Star vs the Flat Footed One, simply because we have been there, done that, and got a crappy tee shirt saying so. BTW - that wasn't a Meteorite? Seems every wk one flies over the skies of TX,
