I didn't mention this - and should have...But when I had UHC, when I married and wanted to drop my Ins. & switch over to my husbands Ins. (save money of course)...they requested a copy of my Wedding Liscense - And get this ... We worked for the Same Company (at the time) and had the Same Ins. Be prepared that they may ask for a copy of a Cancellation Policy from your parents Ins.

The problem I see with this is "IF" they request a copy of the "Termination Letter"... Then your hosed, and will jeopardize yourself in eyes of HR - which could be a problem in the future. I'm not of fan of insurance companies and the hoops many have had to go through for WLS - This one is tough, not sure I'd take the chance...FWIW.

Hey Shortgal - Didn't want to HiJack 'skyblue's' thread yesterday...But I'm short as well 5'1. & it's been a pain in the #$% #$% (fill in what you want) to get restriction - the kind like I see my husband have. We were banded the same day - and he's fine at 6.5cc's...Me I went for fill #6 yesterday for a total of 7.9cc's now. I KNOW I'll need another one - maybe 2 according to my Doc who said I'll need to be over 8cc's to get to the sweet spot. Ugh...frustrating is not even close on somedays - especially when I'm working out like crazy. Anyway saw this thread "Restriction Saves Me" and I had to pop in...I save myself by dieting / exercising while patiently waiting for that "sweet spot"...

Thank you All, who have the Realize Band for posting your positive experience as well as informative links. My brother has been a "guest" here on this thread (he's on the shy side - not me ), and along with his Dr. he has decided the Realize Band is for him. I might have helped in his decision with the amt of fills & still looking for the sweet spot - Had fill #6 yesteray 7.9cc, and I'm sure I will need at least another - however in the end he liked what he found out @ the Realize and that's what he will be getting the first of April..... Again, thanks~

[quote name=shortgal; Her Dad and I could have saved a bundle if she got married in Vegas' date=' but she and we, really wanted a lot of family to attend and didn't think too many would be able to fly out. A wedding ( no matter what kind or place you choose) is always so special. As you can see from one of my tickers, my son is getting married late Sept on Cape Cod ( they live in Ma, near boston), the best part is this time her family is paying for most of it. Last time we paid for most of it![/quote] Ya - My parents gave us the option (only girl) a wedding or a check....I took the check..HA!! We had a big party the week afterwards w/family & friends (I was never one to want a big day wedding) & it was my husbands second  I do see your ticker!!!! You'll be slim & trim for your son's wedding - Love Cape Cod....been yrs since I've been there..

Raw Veggies After Banding?
luluc replied to Bea1128's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only vegetable that I've had an issue with is Asparagus. I eat salads all the time, fruit too - I was told I might have an issue w/the skins on fruit - but I've not experienced that. You'll just have to play around and try it all to determine what you will / will not be able to handle. Good luck w/Insurance Approval!! -

What is your favorite healthy meal/????

I've not had many problems w/rice - Only once, and I think it was because I ate too fast. The place I frequent has alternatives to "rice" rolls - and I'm trying some of those each time, last night I tried a roll that was wrapped in a thin layer of cucumber - very tasty. You should have NO problem w/sushi !! -
Oh if I had to do it again, I would have completed culinary school abroad. LOVE to cook - and I know that's something I have passion for. I think thats' something you need to dig down and find out about yourself. Right now I'm in the middle of remodeling my farm house - Think Hubby and I might go into "Flipping Houses" - Buy / Remodel / Sell.. Might be something down the road for us, Right now I'm trying to get this Home of ours done first.. Then we'll see... Hey - Teaching an option? Saw your a history major...

LOVE sushi - Tuna sashimi / Spicy Tuna Roll / Edamame / Ahi Tuna Tower w/crab and especially Quail Eggs. Love it - have sushi 3/4 times a wk, it by far is my FAV Healthy food. -
Texas was a pretty easy choice - I knew some people here, HATED the cold, and was a lover of animals. Having 6 dogs like I do now was definitely not an option in a small loft:) If you know someone, in one of your "possible" locations - that's a big help. Google those cities, find out the "Single life , Job Market , Housing Market etc" if your not that impulsive. Do some real research on what it will take to up and move by X date. I knew NY was not for me - so that made my decision extremely easy... Even though I left ALL my family.., Now - I can't get rid of them since they all want to visit constantly:).

At 24, I had been home about a yr (NYC) after college & a stint in overseas studies and I hated it. Was born raise in LI - attended undergrad studies at NYU and thought - I just needed to go back there and start "working"....It was not my thing, and I just packed up and moved to TX - Dallas - where I had met some friends in Europe that were from there. Best decision I EVER made. My family was shocked, but they got over it. I found the perfect job, perfect husband....and now I quit Corp world 2yrs ago and am on a Ranch - working it, like all my NY friends continue to laugh about...Think "Green Acres"...LOL Now - I have 2 brothers here in TX - Part of my husband family as well, and I don't regret for a moment my decision. I must admit I'm extremely impulsive - I was "broke" for a bit, but I just managed and loved my new surroundings....I wouldn't trade my field of cows for the honking of cabs for anything...In the end you'll know if your ready for a change - All the best!!! Lulu

Tangerine, Juno is correct when she states to watch your salt intake ESPECIALLY during your TOM - when your already prone to water retention. I would change up your protein choices and get moving - Walk, Walk, & Walk some more - get some exercise in to burn up them calories.

Can Nurses Take A Course To Learn How To Do Fills?
luluc replied to juney1968's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You sound too tight IMO - I asked about the surgery center because I met another patient of Dr Jayaseelan there. I've had no problems, husbands first fill was a bad experience...but our Surgeon more than took care of our concerns. You may want to give them a call as an alternative option. Lulu -
Here are URL's for both: BioTrainer Weight Loss System - measure physical activity and caloric burn bodybugg armband device

My trainer @24hr Fitness has me "test drive" the BodyBugg. Personally, I hated it - I could not stand having that around my arm all day *and if not mistaken...it needs to be on all day long*. I bought the Bio Trainer 2 months ago, and I like it. It's no frills - can clip to my pants & barely notice it's there. It serves the purpose for me in tracking what I want/need it to. All personal preference I guess:)
