TMZ.com - They apparently had a "spy" who watched & reported on the dress rehersals. Word got out and rehersals are locked down now - wondering if "parent's" are included??? Remember the episode where Simon told David A "I doubt you picked that song out yourself"? That was when Simon and David's dad got into it - "apparently"....you know Blogs..LOL I like her voice - but Brooke is right up there w/David A for me. Kinda full of herself.

who supports right to choose
luluc replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This thread is going SO fast today, hard to keep up. I'd like to though comment on why many of those who are Pro Choice, take the poll & don't join this discussion. I look at it this way: I remember as a young kid my Mom closing the blinds and not answering the door when a Jehovahs Witness came to the door. Young me asked if she wasn't answering the door because they were black? (not to offend anyone here - that was the Majority that came door calling). Well I guess my question opened her eyes, and the next time they came to the door, my mom stepped out onto the porch to talk...I of course was my moms shadow and was DYING to hear this discussion. My mom pointed out that this was a predominantly Italian Catholic neighborhood - why do you keep coming when you get the door slammed on you repetedly. The man answered, because Jesus never gave up. My mom explained that she "understands" their "calling", but she has her faith - and it can't be changed or challenged. I say this because I feel the Pro Life movement really does have a calling - Hard to miss that here on this thread...Just like the Pro Choice "understand" that calling - it's not theirs, they have a point of view / opinion about abortion - it's not likely to change, but quite possibly they don't care to be preached to? This is just my take on the reluctance of others joining....I don't agree w/you Gadget at all, however your passion does come across, hope you don't take this the wrong way, -

rejected because of exclusion... should I bother appealing?
luluc replied to amanda2008's topic in Insurance & Financing
If they have an exlusion clause against Weight Loss Surgery, I'm doubtful you can appeal (reason you had a fast reply). Not sure I've read where anyone was successful with that. I too was denied & then requested a copy of my policy (which I should have done first, rather than waste a few months of games), I clearly did not meet the criteria BCBS TX had for Bariatric Surgery - So I worked it so I could pay cash. If going self pay is an option - there are a lot of threads to give you help out here. Sorry your going thru this!! -
Slimmy - check out this thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/index38.html#post786147 There are a bunch of "Low Carb" individuals - and you can get an idea of what people are eating daily, if that's what your looking to do. Lulu

Slimmy - I don't have the "science" behind they why, but in my case I really just lost the craving for my "Carbs" which I defined as the P's: Pretzles Pizza Potatos / Chips Pasta I was never a "sweet" tooth, but give me something salty ... YUM. My total downfall. Right now, I feel I have to add some Carbs into my diet (complex ones) because I'm working out pretty hard & some days I get a little dizzy & my trainer is like you have to eat more carbs...Can't be 100% Protein. He's right...but for me in the beginning I had to break my addiction so to speak, and cut them out all together - None in the house, ya get the idea. Hope you get more answers -

Nope - Not me ... I can't stand him. I've read a few blogs that his dad is the "Ultimate Stage" dad, who demands his son get more time practicing w/the band. I've "heard" he's had run-ins w/Simon....NOW that is the TV I want to see. Still love the boys: Jonathan, David C & Michael......Brooke (so annoying) & Carley will go far - but my guess Not win.

My dad is diabetic - and he "found" a low sugar Chardonay (believe from the Russian River Valley - CA). It was ghastly - awful. For me I'd prefer to have one glass a wk - than many of something that tasted like cardborad - If you can visualize that taste. It truly had a "I just drank tree bark flavor". Dad sticks to his one great Cabernet a wk, he's more particular than I am in wine - and he just works his blood sugar in other means. Thanks Skinny Jill!!

Yes there are different carbs - Didn't try to suggest otherwise. I probably read labels more than most, no need for me to google the breakdown as you suggest - because I'm sure your versed, people breakdown "carbs" differently. 3yrs in France learning under some great Chef's you learn more than "kitchen work". Nutritional testing is required. I believe the thread was asking if there is a Carb'less wine....That's new to me, and something I'd be interested in learning about. Since carbs make up less than 10% of my daily intake - that Fantastic Red Zinfadel at night after a LONG day on the ranch & gym is just what this body requires & thrives on.

i had a LONG talk w/my surgeon about wine prior to surgery. he knows i'm a trained chef in europe and cooking & wine is an integral part of my life. i'm in a "new age of cooking" now - experimenting low cal menus. wine is carbs - plain and simple. here is the nutritional breakdown of a 4oz glass of red table wine: Nutrition Facts Serving Size: 4 oz <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD colSpan=2><HR color=black SIZE=7></TD></TR><TR><TD class=facts_main colSpan=2>Amount per Serving</TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2><HR color=black SIZE=1></TD></TR><TR><TD width="100%" colSpan=2><TABLE width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=left>Calories 85</TD><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 9px" align=right>Calories from Fat 0</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2><HR color=black SIZE=6></TD></TR><TR><TD align=right colSpan=2>% Daily Value *</TD></TR><TR><TD>Total Fat 0g</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR><TR><TD>Saturated Fat 0g</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR><TR><TD>Monounsaturated Fat 0g</TD></TR><TR><TD>Polyunsaturated Fat 0g</TD></TR><TR><TD>Cholesterol 0mg</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR><TR><TD>Sodium 6mg</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR><TR><TD>Total Carbohydrate 2g</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>1%</TD></TR><TR><TD>Dietary Fiber 0g</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR><TR><TD>Protein 0g</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2><HR color=black SIZE=7></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>Vitamin A</TD><TD class=facts_main align=right>0%</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> <HR color=black><CENTER>Est. Be no fun w/out ya - Gadget too!!!...Did I say that ????

My trainer has a "mantra": Exercise is only as good as how consistent you are with it. He annoys me often, but I love his results:) For me I would think 20/30mins every day vs 1hr 3xwk would be the best bet when starting out. Get in a routine, make it something you do for yourself everyday - that 30minute walk. I had a hard time in the beginning being somewhat selfish and carving 30 or 60 minutes to myself to walk. After 45 days I re-joined the gym I left 4yrs ago - and got serious in working out. Now - I get p!$$@& if my regular gym routine is messed up & I let the hubby know (he's the ususal culprit of changing times). Be selfish w/yourself !!!

ooooh, i treat wine like butter. if i indulge, i want the good stuff. i have wine a few times a wk - i don't necessarily count them as "liquid calories" because i work out hard 5/6 times a wk & it balances out. it also has not slowed my weightloss down - again, because i feel i'm eating well & exercising. i am interested in the responses - if there "are" low carb wines; i wouldn't mind trying, but again....I REALLY like the good stuff.

I gave up fast food completely as well - Except about every other month or so I will get a Whataburger Jr W/Cheese. I eat 3 high protein/low carb meals a day & 1 snack. Regarding food, I realize I have to do a lot of planning, and have ready available low cal Snacks around - I carry Ostrich Jerky sticks & Raw Nuts in my purse - so if I 'm hungry, usually after a workout - I'm getting something healthy in. Today My Meals are planned as follow: B- 1/2c Fiber One Cereal w/2% milk & blueberries l- 4oz of cottage cheese w/1tbsp of hummus mixed in w/1/2 cucumber d- roasting a chicken - will have approx 3-4oz, 1/2c steamed broccoli s- jerky or nuts (if needed) I work out 5/6 days a wk - 2 of those w/a trainer. Each of those days include approx 45minutes of hard cardio / 3 weight training / 2 core exercise classes. I run a ranch w/my husband as well - and am pretty active with livestock / dogs / & many acreage to tend to... Hope this helps give an idea - I have about 25lbs to go, but will guess these will take longer than the first 50lb did.
