Dr. Felts or Dr. Nicholson? (in DFW)
luluc replied to ImGonnaLose's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Same here; -
I also went thru True Resluts as self pay BUT my insurance did cover every test needed - just not the surgery. I would check into that & Yes - you just might need 10 fills - I've had 7 so far. That 15k coveres what you stated & I've not had one "Hidden Cost" to date. Good Luck!!

The new people magazine (beautiful people) has a section of "natural beauties" those w/out a stich of makeup / not overly fussed hair * and by far, I think they look SO much better. Rebecca Romaign (SP?) looks stunning. I loved it because I HATE makeup (almost as much as dresses & high heels) - I really only wear it when going "out" - my daily routine is mascara / chapstick & bronzer.

For the first 3/4 months, I averaged around 800-900 calories a day. Under a 1000 was my Dr's suggestion; and it wasn't difficult to get to - I had to use some will power / diet / exercise while waiting for proper restriction. Since it took me to month 5 to get to my sweet spot, my daily calorie intake ranges from 1000-1200 a day...depending on how hard a workout goes. Those 3 meals range from 250-350 calories; along with a 100 calorie snack . Very rarely do I go over a cup of food, but my meals are pretty high protein / veggies / whole grains...they tend to keep me satisfied a decent time between meals. As far as drink after a meal - 30mins is my average. Sometimes more sometimes less - sometimes some wine w/my dinner (though not often).

Stef- We are neighbors!!! Hubby & I bought a ranch NW of Waxie (Oak Leaf) which is approx 30miles South of Dallas - I LOVE it here, ... Moved from Coppell. We "bought" the farm so to speak, when we purchased including one horse / four cows & I added my 6 dogs to the mix....all furry friends. The stable needs a lot of work we realized w/all the rain lately; but that's part of our summer plan, and we do intend to board at some point. My friend has her's up in Texoma, and she doesn't get ridden much - so she wants to rent here. Which is fine, I'll like to ride - so more the merrier. Hubby wants my animal addiction to SLOW down, but that's what I wanted when moving to the country. Wombat - that's so great your still running. I sorta only do so when the trainer makes me otherwise it's the elliptical or bike. Ceradad - Overserved???? LOL, I can't wait to start playing soccer...I love team sports I've realized over running .. I have a tendancy to get board. So - today... 3mile warm up on bike 50min session w/trainer - all upper body & abs Have agilty training w/my heeler later on this afternoon....will probably throw a thousand frizbees. Happy May all!!!

yesterday - b- 2oz smoked turkey w/a small apple l- 5 shrimp cocktail d- chips / queso  s- 1/2 south beach bar (vanilla cream)

well CRAP - didn't mean to insinuate your 70, like my mum is....your style of conversation on the subject is identical. an yes, she's not proud to piss people off - which is usually my inlaws (after much lecturing on my part to not do so) she just can't hold her water when it comes to the right to choose. she makes me look like a wallflower - and i'm the one who had an abortion. she became pretty passionate when after having her last child; she wanted her tubes tied. the catholic hospital wanted her to get a notorized statement from my dad saying it was OK to do so.....she's be pretty vocal ever since - that was 1973, ironic. i thought the thread should end last night, and almost replied so - but another dynamic (the feminist article) came to light & added more to the discussion than previous go arounds on the SAME issues. i must admit some the articles have been tiresome, (sorry gadget....see used your name tho...). as someone who has had an abortion, has tried IV, has tried adoption, - there is something to be said about bringing a face to the discussion and real stories (which many choose not to share for obvious personal choices), rather than stats out the ...well fill in blank.....BOTH are important! just got overwhelming a tad, -
walmart. i've tried all places and walmart is the only place i've found that carries this flavor. i've not tried the low carb slim fasts - the EAS brand was recommended by my trainer and there's no a flavor that's gross; though i prefer the chocolate & cafe' caramel (been typing the wrong name - but ya get the idea) here is the nutrional breakdown: 11fl oz 110 calories 3g fat 3g carbo 1g sugar 17g protein i tried so many shakes / powders - this by far is my fav; pkct of 4 is around $4.

I have 8.5cc's in my 10cc aps band, and what I've found out is that I have a tendency to take my first bite fast & not chew properly. After I get the 2/3 bites down, I realize .. whooo I need to slow things down a bit. This also happens at the end of my meal. I paid attention at the beginning of my meal & I get lazy, I'm taking larger bites and again, not chewing enough. Such a cat / mouse game. I would still go to your fill appt. Talk w/your Dr about your experiences and let him help you decide if you need another fill..

no worries - still enjoy your pleasant perspective, though not 100% on board:wink2: bjean - if you weren't a 70 something Floridian, i'd swear you were my mom, reading your posts....you type how she speaks on the subject. and she pisses off a fair share of people - she's just pretty darn passionate & it inevitable rubs people the wrong way. but i get ya. still reading the latest "feminist" article thrown out by gadget - must say something i never thought about.... -

How would we know Queen L is not healthy? Has she already "tried" diet & failed - like many here? Are her big bone genes inherited? Could she kick my A$$ in a round of tennis? I'd be more inclined to buy a product that she endorsed over someone who's maintained her "thin" self by abuse of diet or drugs. I partcularly loved the Dove campaign because of it's "realness" .... All you have to do is just go to an airport and get a good pulse of the "avg" person. Overweight - yes, Thin - yes, Muscular - yes, Normal weight - yes../Short / Tall / White / Black / ,,...can keep going. What I enjoyed about that advertisement is that they showed "ALL" women, with different shapes / different colors / different hair / different height...I really didn't focus on there not being thin person - because I felt that was a pretty close depiction of who they were advertising too....Woman not overly focused about being "thin". And well I find that brillant - and it's paid off for them. I didn't get the Lap Band to get thin. I wanted my athletic body back - in looks & health. Both my parents are very slim, they never gave up (like I did) their regimen of healthy eating & exercise in the 40+yrs they've been together. The label of thin is annoying to me, it's got a "blue blood" connotation attached to it & really doesn't define health. Now a size 16...yeah that's what I started out as, I'm 5'1 & that was NOT working for me; this whole discussion is very similar w/goal weight & BMI threads preceeding. Health is defined by many variables - and getting into a size 2 is not one of them.

Jennifer - I no longer eat sandwichs (say like a sub) any longer because bread can be an issue. And if you look at a subway sandwich...that's a LOT of bread. What I do & call a sandwich or taco..is measure out my deli meat or salad (egg/tuna/chicken/salmon) to 1/2 cup or 2/3 oz's & spread that on a Wasa bread Cracker. Now I know the "weight" measurement & the caloric intake of the wasa cracker (45calories/0fat/2protein). I do the same w/a taco when putting a wheat wrap (55calories/0fat/1protein) & add my cheese/lf sour cream/etc. If your looking for the volume, order a 6inch subway minus the bread (comes in a salad version) and measure that. My guess that comes to close to 1 1/2 - 2cups of food, which is more than one should likely eat in one sitting / maybe best to split 2 meals with.

After which fill did YOU really start losing!
luluc replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi Crystal I know it's hard - VERY hard waiting for restriction. My husband took 3 fills to get to his sweet spot, me I had to have 7....so frustrating; but hang in there. Seems to be that 4 fills is the average - I came to this website A LOT during that time & found great comfort. Hope you get there soon!!!! Lulu -
I was self pay - so my fills are covered in the first year; after that they are $100. $500 does sound high~
