luluc replied to coltonwade's topic in Fitness & Exercise
i think that is the least he could have done - because i can not walk this morning. my legs are jelly & can barely hold myself up - trying to use the bathroom requires a bit of squatting and i have NOTHING left....LOL toying with either running or elliptical to get the kinks out - for sure another glass of coffee while i ponder... good luck w/your run tonight - ps - i did wk 5 for 3wks if i remeber correctly:) -

congrats fran!!! huge accomplishment - cheers to your success!!! -
I work with a personal trainer twice a wk & work out on my own another 3 days. Our routines are the same for 2wks - then he changes things up. For example today was a "New" routine, and I spent 40 minutes on the basketball court with cones doing squats / lunges / jumps / sprints. Never done that - but tonight, my thighs feel like jelly:tongue: Weight training is also a big focus, & where I've seen the best results. On my days of exercise - I focus predominately on cardio. I'll do 20min on stairmaster / 20min on elliptical & a 2 mile run. Sometimes I'll add some ab work in - but I do so much resistance/weight training w/my trainer, I leave my down days to work up a good sweat. I run a small ranch - so I'm pretty active all the time even when not at the gym & love pool season is here.... Your on an awesome track so far - but I do believe mixing things up, as well as your diet when you don't necessarily see the scale moving. An hour a day is good quality time to be selfish about yourself & your health..PS - it took saying that a LOT to myself to feel good about being in the gym as much as I am.

My first fill was a month after surgery. After that I was able to go every 2 wks, however I averaged close to every 3-4wks. I was pretty much hungry till fill #4. My last fill in March has gotten tighter the last few wks & I had a small unfill last wk which hasn't made a difference, so I plan on going Friday for a bit more taken out. Little too restricted for my liking; enjoy eating my calories - not drinking them (protein shakes). All the best!

59 sounds AWESOME. it's 95 - hot / humid & now raining :smile2: stranger you rock doing this outside ; not sure i could handle the outdoor running. i have been running 2mile "run's" w/my trainer wkly & he wants to bump that up to 4miles :scared2:. i told him to compromise w/3 & he came back with 3 plus sprint drills. UGH - not LOVING the running at the moment ; today was painful!!! but i did get a leg rub down from him afterwards:tongue2: hope everyone had a good long wkend!! -
I use Enell Brand - on the pricey side, but worth it for me being a large size (34d) & quite active: Enell Sports Bra - Welcome

My sweet spot can be described easily: I am full w/my 3 high Protein meals (maybe one snack) for longer periods of time (meals consisting on avg 3oz of lean meat w/some whole grain/veggie or fruit). By that I mean, I typically go every 4-6hrs between my meals w/out issue. I no longer think about food the same way, rather I need food nurish myself vs constantly thinking can I eat now - what am I going to cook; how much will I eat. This has been a catch 22 for me, I couldn't "wait" to get to my sweet spot, and when I did....I didn't like it. I hit that place back in March, and over the last month my fill seems to have gotten tighter. I have recently struggled with certain meats & bread; so much so last week I went for a slight unfill. I want to be able to eat ALL foods, including bread on occassion, and I just was not happy taking over 45mins to eat a meal. So far it's not helped - I could just be a bit stressed w/other issues that's causing the tightness, either way - I push through to eat slowly the good hard protein food rather than relying solely on Protein shakes. I hate that I have to use them on occassion (that will be tonights dinner) - because I really love food & good food at that. Almost have to be cautious of what you wish for my Dr said last wk.., I would never have thought the words "I need to eat" would come out of my mouth.

Abdominal Crunches After Surgery
luluc replied to srowland2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr told me & hubby (also banded:tongue:) to hold off weight training till 10-12 wks & abdomen crunches around the same time. I was a slow healer & had bad port pain, so I believe I started abdomen training around the later part of month 3. Good luck!! -
got an unfill to eat more & it's having the reverse affect yesterday b- 4oz LF blueberry yogurt l - 2 bites of filet , 1/4c greens d- 1 pork bb rib , 1/4c baked beans

who supports right to choose

completely fair!!! thank your for your response erik!! i am respectful enough of other's value system & religious beliefs to not thrust mine onto them. i'd like that same courtsey. -
all the best willowcrown w/your trainer!!! mine has essentially become a member of our family training both hubby & myself:) i would call your surgeon to be on the safe side of how soon to be active with weights. mine had a 6 wk window - but i was a slow healer & he didn't want me lifting heavy weights (over 10lb) till after 8 wks post. on a side of caution - just verify what he/she's best recommendation for you is. as mentioned by kbinaz - you typically have a "liquid or soft" diet after a fill & nutrition is important when working out hard. i just had a slight unfill because i wasn't getting enough calories / food in to sustain my workouts & when i was going for regular fills; i scheduled my training sessions 3 days afterwards - till i was able to get solid Protein down. regular cardio - not an issue during this time however~~ all the best!!!

Lap Band Journey Came to Screeching Halt Today!
luluc replied to singledad167's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i think that's the best bet. why would you want a Dr to deny your request to improve your health with getting the lapband, yet in the same breath offer you an anti depressant? my OBGYN suggested i try wellbutrin to try to loose some weight, and it was the worst decision ever. even the smallest of doses put me in such a funk, i only took it for a month & i did not loose a lb. fingers crossed for you!!!!! -
slimmy - here is the website: BODYBUGG :: HOW IT WORKS it's actually a great tool - i just can't ever get use to wearing it full time on that part of my arm.
-
yesterday - b- 4oz LF blueberry yogurt w/blueberries & granola l- 3oz tuna w/4 melba toast & wedge of laughing cow lite french onion d- 1c shrimp fried rice s- SB chocolate covered soy nuts

wow is all i can say, the bold/underlining how to compete... btw, i did correct myself w/your name, before your response:) your right, i'm wrong - my bad. i will go to a band surgeon for a "band" fill rather than a cardilogist and i suggest chubby you find a new Dr. fast. misty (like that bold??) got the name right? your not the first to overly defend a Dr of their's who's "done no wrong" in their view - why can't this OP have a differing view / opinion. is the OP's assessment not valid because you disagree? they have every right to an opionion on this Dr as do you. calm yourself - this is an open forum to discuss Dr's, i have done nothing but continually tell the OP to get someone other than your DR to treat them - which btw your suggested by getting a second opinion.

ugh - i really wanted david c to kill it last night ; but he did not. however i'm more than inclined to download a song of his vs david a's..., i'm not a ballad lover & still can't see how AI is going to make him current or pop. so - theory, i have a traveling husband and he was in Hot 'Lanta last night and called me to say that david c totally threw the competition after the U2 song - so he did not have to be under the AI umbrella & obligation. mind you hubby does have a "conspiracy theory mind" and has been traveling a bunch so he may not have been all there in his assessment - but as i thought about it???? hummmm.....

oops - i meant misty not mindy...still trying to work w/VISTA and not liking i can't backtrack in a app. my apologies!!

chubby - i think it's best to seek out a second Dr. typically if a port is damaged or leaking that can show up in a barium swallow - but not the only means of detecting leaks/or damage. if you are no longer comfortable w/the care of dr maese - they're are other alternatives in the metroplex. mindy - while you have had a positive experience w/dr maese .. so much so you know he has a lawyer on retainer to search such sites; that's not to diminish several here who have not had the same results in care. to be all honest, my band surgeon does NOT do 20/30 fills a day 5 days a wk (BTW - that increases his odds for complications in fills by shear volume). when would one be able to do a lapband surgery with all that "filling" being done?? but i'm not a math person.
