big baby - outside of going out to eat, i do measure/weigh out my food...if i don't i WILL eat more, even when i don't need it. since your days are busier - might need to plan out your meals; make in advance, if i don't start the day with a good idea of what my meals will be, the tendency to make a poor choice in food is likely in my future. yesterday - b- 1/2c kashi oat w/2%milke with half banana l- 2oz grilled chicken d- 3 coconut shrimp, glass of chardonay s- SB chocolate soy nuts

most gyms will have a "free training assessment". talk to one of the trainers (you don't have to sign up), and get an idea of what you should be doing - get a "how to" on some of the equipment your not familiar with. ...and for those times when you feel self conscious; put your ipod/mp3 player on and get lost in your own routine. good luck & congrats for getting started!!:tongue2:

i forgot to mention the calorie consumption - brown bears' statement hold true for me. i will not loose if i don't consume 1000-1200 calories per day, anything less & the weightloss stalls. i also journal my food each day - might be a good idea to do for a while & possibly reach out to a nutritionist to give you some advise.

like to get my inner daredevil gene to rear it's head again. i use to sky dive - but got over the weight limit 3yrs ago. i keep telling myself i can physically do it now, but my head it now talking back that it's stupid to jump out of a perfectly fine airplane. :tongue2: -
i do think exercise is key, but i enjoy my daily workouts....i can see where if it's not something you care for, to struggle getting started. but just start - walking is the easiest, set small goals and try to increase each wk. 2 months post op i found the couch 2 5k thread here, and started running - i'm not a "runner" and struggle with those in my training sessions; however that program got me serious about cardio/weight training. you might surprise yourself what activity you enjoy, could be tennis - biking - swimming; finding somethng you like is key to doing it on a consistent basis. i knew with my metabloism & a few health issues that i had to incorporate exercise into this process; i believe it's helped tremendously in getting the scale to move in the right direction for a change - downward. good luck!!

terri - i LOVE my unfill. i too am a bit "Loose", however i needed to eat & ironically the scale is going down w/the more i put in.:tongue2: my dr took out 1.3cc over 2 unfills and i probably need .5 back in to put me just where i need to be. i'm going to hang here another 3 wks though, as i have my wisdom teeth due to come out next wk & my surgeon thought it best me hang at this level till after that recovery..... enjoy the salads!!! -

*Do you still count calories?* I journal my food each day - I get in approx 1100-1200 cal per day *Do you follow all the rules like no sugar / just sugar free?* i make healthier food choices in general and was never crazed about sugar/sweets *No caffeine?* Drink 2-3 cups of coffee in the AM - was never told to avoid coffee/tea * Eat your Protein first getting 60grams a day?* i eat balanced meals, including fruits / veggies / whole grains. though my meals do include a lot of protein, i do not pick which one i eat first & don't cringe if one day is higher than another. *Eat 3 meals a day?* I eat 3 meals plus one or 2 Snacks on average. Depends on the day & my activity level. I work out 5/6 days per wk. The one thing I don't necessarily follow, which many are told they must is the no drinking w/meals. Not a Dr mandate for me. I'm full 4/5hrs between meals - don't graze or snack arbitrarily. I personally struggle getting fluids in, so my surgeon said not to worry about this - so I don't. -
hey XX, it really is a good core exercise when you think about it. i USE to struggle getting on/off "Duke" 60+ lbs ago...had to use a ladder, i'm pretty short & i couldn't huff it up on the saddle alone. i think the big guy likes a lighter me & the fact i ride him more often....it's a slow trot, until my heeler wants to mess around w/us...LOL today - spin class 20min stairmaster * have company coming over later today & i think i'm comfortable enough in my bathing suit to play Water volleyball* cheers all~~

i think john mCcain is a good man, i actually like him - however his intent to carry on GW's policy abroad is the single reason, i feel he will not win. i sure hope not at least. i've been an Obama fan for a while now, i think this last run of the Democratic race was probably one of the best things that has happened to the US polical process in a LONG TIME! look how many more people registered...look how many more people are involved / actual care. john mCcain does not speak to me, we do not share similar views...i joke that if he puts hillary on his ticket he might win. hubby & inlaws don't share my humor - but i'm a lone NY liberal in TX & have to crack a joke here / there. My preference would be a Obama/Edwards ticket:smile: -

today - 1.5mile run warm up upper body weight training & abs, hubby had a vaca day & wanted to work out together - not my normal routine, but it was fun. plan on taking my old man horse out tonight for a late ride ; i'm sorta counting this as exercise - cause the bouncing on my bum i think firms things up....this is of course all in my head:) have a good wkend!!!

well thank you!! i believe exercise got me here faster than relying on band alone. helps a lot i was banded same day as hubby (no kids) and we've been partner & crime in eating & moving the booty... struggling w/the goal weight drama (lots of threads on this) - i think i need to be 120 now and hubby would prefer more meat on the bones....but i'm a big shorty, just over 5', so i'm just going to play this game out. i must say - don't know how ya run in this heat; today was SO hot at 6am when i went for a quick run... greyhounder - welcome!!!! don't worry if you have to reapeat wks - keep the body moving.. i think wet suits are just all around cruel. DH scuba dives, and at his fittest, they are unattractive. whoysa, no worries about those pics. fran - i STILL have been singing that jingle. can't shake it:tongue: -
few ideas i used: hummus guacamole / ff refried beans / lf sour cream cottage cheese lf yogurts LOTS of egg drop soup - don't know why but this was a huge staple for me for a long time - haven't had any since month 2 out..LOL ricotta bake lf cream of spinach mushed up crab cakes w/horseradish sauce oatmeal
