    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

renewed - when i hit wk 5 i HAD to start eating carbs (good, complex ones of course) and it SCARED me. it was also that time that i started out with my trainer weight training 2+ days a wk in addition to the hard cardio. "for me" - i will not lose if i don't have carbs in my diet, i also need to be over 1000 calories a day. you might need to play around with your diet a bit more with the more active you become. it' seems every 3 wks or so as my workout routine changes up - i need to do the same to with the diet.....shock the body some. your doing great ya'll.....all the best.

    Just facial stuff here....

good for you terri, hope your healing continues. my mom had this done several years ago & had an allergic reaction to her stiches - but the results were phenominal. i've been telling my husband i want my eyes done for about a yr now. i have the "inherited" - hood & dark circles from both parents. even when rested i sometimes look tired & if i'm not rested - well the bags come out. dr schulman - what is the best treatment for this? i'll be 40 soon, have no other wrinkle issues - but would really like to get my eyes to match how i feel. i can even make it up to NYC, as that's where i'm from & still have lots of family there. thanks in advance.

    ??Sports Bra??

i use enell brand exclusively now: Enell Sports Bra - Welcome i had tough time when i started running trying to find something to keep the girls down & once you get use to these, they are fantastic. i started out at a 36/38DD, and now am down to a 32D - they're a bit pricey - but they are made very well.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

bbk - i'm in the same boat as you. no matter what time i go to bed; i'm up at 4am - and i'm online seeing you posting earlier than me. last month i had a full OB workup - am pre-menopausal along with rapid weighltoss my hormones are off the hook. got put on some meds that have helped tremendously. i am still up at 4, but feel restful no matter what time i went to bed (usually around 9). i realize that time may not be feasible to some - but i generally have early days running a ranch & them damn roosters go off at the same time. check w/your OB - get that chemistry checked....best of luck!

    Questions for surgeon and nutritionist...

i think macmadame's checklist is quite thorough & would take with me. one other thing i would question is the fill schedule. how often you can get them, etc. i've read many have to wait several wks/months in order to either get a fill or get an appt because the practice is so busy. it's pretty important, while your working up towards getting proper restriction that you have great flexibility with your dr's practice to get in for your fills in a reasonable time frame. good luck to you.

ollie that is FANTASTIC! i seriously applaud you:thumbup: last night did twilight golf with hubby (9 holes only) - this is more for him, it's so hot out that i required a cold beer to keep playing - so not much exercise..LOL today - cardio only 20min elliptical 20min bike 20min walk
  16. the first 3 months i found somewhat daunting - because my weightloss just was so slow, i mean snails pace. BUT i was not gaining, for the first time in forever, so i focused on that. i sorta burried my head in the sand with exercise & retraining my eating habits & concentrated on 10lbs at at time. get out of the 190's, 180's & so forth - i found looking at losing 80lbs all at once overwhelming .... so i kept my focus in small itervals. now i can say it's easy, proper eating habits & exercise are the norm - not something i have to fight myself with. if i over indulge or not exercise one day, well tomorrow i can start anew - the band lets me get back on track rather than the "old days" of starting the diet back up on MONDAY.
  17. hi debbie, i'm lulu 39yrs old *like libra, still consider myself MUCH younger* i'm short - 5'1 with a curvy/sporty figure. i use to have really long hair, but after weight loss i cut it all off, donating to locks of love - so now my auburn hair is around chin length. i have naturally dark skin & living in TX, i generally have a tan year round, as i'm pretty active running a ranch.

IMHO The hardest part of being banded.

i too have never followed the "no drinking during meal rule" - and it was also not a mandate of my surgeon. it took me 7 months post op to work up to eating over 1000 calories a day, i certaintly wasn't pushing food thru to eat more having a sip here or there...or better yet enjoying a great glass of wine with a meal. and the scale didn't halt my indulgence of a drink. my biggest issue has been w/NSAIDS. i have a form of RA - can't take medication previously provided .. so i rough it out, i have not let up off my exercise routine since wk 10 post op. giving up aleve/advil & other medications has been work.

shortgal - i wish you well. keep posting on the outcome!!

Joe Horn cleared by grand jury

not all gun owners are republican .. i'm as liberal as they get, raised in NY with beyond liberal (jewish/italian) parents - guns were OFF limits..but also not needed. no need for protection / no one was hunters / nor anyone pistol range shooters for sport. i can tell my dad is nervous when he comes to my ranch and sees the shotgun propped up by the fireplace - but it goes with the territory....me (4 out of 7 days a wk - alone while hubby is on business travel). we have no children, i'm on hundreds of acres of all terrain property that even with security gates and cameras ... whoever wants to show up and do harm can do so. my mind set completely changed after yr 1 of being married to a Texan. it's how he was raised - totally different mindset than that of me being raised up north. he was handed a shot gun at the age of 5, taught how to use it and started hunting w/the other members of his family - so foreign to me. But, after living out in the "boonies" for 3yrs now, i can see the use for having the shotgun handy - and for me the purpose i stated above has been because i've already lost 3 dogs to coyotes. i have no problem picking one off (and have a few). i am a HUGE advocate for gun safety & proper liscensing. i LIKE the fact i have to keep taking certification classes to keep myself current. i realize there are many gun owners that are not responsible, and those that leave a gun laying around for a child to pick up upon - speak to their parenting, and not so much to the many that who are true "sportsman" who value respectful gun ownership.
