can you appeal? maybe have your PCP or Lapband Surgeon to write a letter on your behalf? if financing isn't an option, i would do a search here on some who have been successful with appeals. good luck to ya!

like snowbird - i was banded the same day as my husband & very greatful to have go through this as a team. we're pretty competitive (in just about everything), it however has been extremely helpful on days i'm not up for the gym, he pushes - or if he wants a midnight snack, i hand him an apple....we check each other & hold one another accountable. all the best to both of you on your upcoming surgery!!

Okay Seriously how much do you eat?
luluc replied to armywife4life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have 3 balanced meals per day (including carbs - complex), plus a snack or 2 (depending on how hungry i am). each meal is approx 1cup or 4oz, i try to stay around 1100 calories per day - this seems to be my target number for weight loss. i could never live on a 1/4c 3X per day, nor do i want to be restricted enough that , that is all i could get in. -
not really suzanne. i was extremely slow out of the gate w/weight loss (20lbs in the first 3months) - but once i added serious exercise in january, the weight loss has been consistent - with very few stalls. ***i also started journaling my food at this time, i think it's kept me on track*** ps - the margaritas sound YUM!!!

B 12 shots with the lapband??? What do you think?
luluc replied to poohprecious's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my dr has my shots placed in a muscular part of my body - for me that's my thigh. i'm use to them, so i have no burning. there is also a B12 patch on the market for those who don't like needles. i've toyed with trying them.... -

some simple things to find out: does your mom have a will/living will? does she have a power of attorney? is there an executor of her estate? has she been declared incompetant? as teachlady stated - hospice care does not necessarily mean death immediately... i handled my GGrandmother's estate & she managed 2+yrs in hospice..there is an awful lot to handle - even when things are spot on, your best bet it to involve legal intervention & get a patient advocate for the hospice on your side. good luck,

Texas girl look-n 4 a buddy Mentor :-}
luluc replied to ~ChinaDoll~'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hey ya'll - i'm here if ya need some support. my name is lulu - banded over 9 months in the DFW area & have lost 70lbs w/a few left. i found early on i HAD to exercise, it wasn't until month 4 that i saw the scale regularly moving...i actually hid the scale in my barn for a while; and just relied on my tape measure..... i know it can be daunting to read the many "it will get better messages" - but i had issues w/that...it took me 7 fills before i got "true restriction", so i had to rely on will power for a bit....and that didn't serve me much in the past... all the best to ya'll. cheers! -
silly me - i just realized this was a sept 07 thread i subscribed to...i'm just a few wks away:wink_smile: being banded in oct 07 ... i think this is such a great thread, probably one of my fav!!! today i got called tiny. i KNOW i'm short at 5'1 standing upright - but for a neighbor to tell me i'm so petite made me giggle from my toes to my nose...LOL make no mistake - i got thighs for DAYS, and can be the best nut cracker for the holidays, but am thrilled they're getting solid vs swinging on their own, along w/the butt that could have qualified for it's own zip code. congrats to everyone here, !!!
